I bet even if fiji outperforms 980 Ti people will hate on it for being ~$800

You know what makes no sense to me? Every thread I've seen lately people say "if Fiji costs more than the 980 Ti I won't buy it." No fucking wonder AMD doesn't want to be the cheaper option, people don't even care if they outperform the competitor if it costs more.

Are you leaving the voltage at stock for the ram?
  4. If anyone wants to make a news post AMD marketing made an official response to Witcher 3 Hairworks http://www.twitch.tv/amd/v/5335751

  5. I looked around and I can't find a solid source to tell you one way or the other, I'm inclined to stick with my gut feeling and say that GCN will support tier 3 features and maxwell will support tier 2 features.
  6. I found description of each tier in a doc But can't find the source for which tier GCN supports and whether it's all GCN or only the more recently released ones. Also can't find confirmation of Maxwell tier.
  7. On second thought I'm not too sure if it's limited to GCN 1.2 or if all GCN are tier 3 and I'm having trouble finding a source.....wouldn't make much sense with their age though.
  8. IIRC Microsoft has tiers of support for features and while Maxwell & Kepler have tier 2 DX12 support GCN has Tier 3 support. (Tier 3 being better)
  9. @AMDlover or you could get a refurb GTX 670 for $10 more (out of stock right now), or a refurb GTX 590 for $10 more....... BTW I highly doubt this 580 is new, they'd have long sold their stock of 580s, I guess it could be a unit that was intended for a giveaway or something that fell through though.
  10. I'd just back up the apps with Helium, back up the important files to your computer, and then do a reset.

who wants to help me 3D model the upcoming Silv…

I'm not suggesting they sell the pegboard, I'm suggesting they sell the headphone arms/rails. So that you could buy either the single headphone arm that goes onto the peg board or something like a telescopic rail in the shape of a headphone holder that can extend outwards to hold however many pairs of headphones you need, to a point.
  12. Yes. We saw these benchmarks months ago from all the relevant tech outlets. Not sure why a redditor posting it makes it news. http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/3DMark-API-Overhead-Feature-Test-Early-DX12-Performance http://www.anandtech.com/show/9112/exploring-dx12-3dmark-api-overhead-feature-test http://www.legitreviews.com/looking-at-directx-12-performance-3dmark-api-overhead-feature-test_160936 http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pages/3dmark_api_overhead_test_dx11_vs_dx12_cpu_performance_preview.html I guess it's semi interesting that they showed it with older hardware but....not really news worthy.

What about a peg board design? You could either have a bunch of smaller arms or you could have one large rail that you put all the headphones on

new linus video already causing issues with me…

You mean people are taking information and misconstruing it.......because they never did that before this video. Linus was very clear from the start of the video, if you tweak the clocks and voltages then you can get better performance and that wasn't what they were checking in the video, they were checking whether better cooling gave better performance in and of itself. I do think that doing another score with Turbo boost enabled would be more fair since it's en...

He didn't say that you had to increase voltage. He just said that better cooling in and of itself won't increase performance...which technically isn't true if you enable turbo boost.
  17. I mean we can make great guesses as to what the actual reasons are, but in the end we may never know. Nvidia probably wants at least their big league card to have a visual cue, so people always know from looking at it that it's an Nvidia graphics card.
  18. AFAIK there's only one right now http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157588
  19. EVGA isn't allowed to either if you're looking at it from that point of view. They aren't selling this on Titan X, they're selling it as a stand alone aftermarket cooling solution. And if Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, Galax, etc wanted to sell their heatsink as a stand alone cooling solution, or bundle it with the Titan X, Nvidia probably wouldn't stop them. It's the same thing Gigabyte did with the Titan black, where they included their Windforce heatsink in the box but you had to put it on yourself since Nvidia won't let them sell a Titan with a custom cooling solution already on it.
  20. Arctic Cooling has validated that their Accelero II, III, and IV lines are compatible with the Titan X. http://www.arctic.ac/us_en/products/cooling/vga.html
  21. I mean Arctic Cooling has had options available for a long time already...but I guess more is better when it comes to options.
  22. Do you have MSI afterburner or the rivatuner OSD open? It's been known to sometimes conflict with games and cause various issues.
  23. I'm not upset, but then again I'm no longer inclined to buy/play it. I mean I was never hugely drawn towards the witcher series in the first place, however with how the graphics looked in 2013 I figured I'd give it a chance anyway. Now.......no incentive to go for it. It still looks good, it just doesn't look amazing.
  24. Enlighten me, how does that mean I care? Is a WHQL certification the only means of giving us good drivers, have there been no good drivers that lack a WHQL certification? A company can simply hold itself to a high standard, and this isn't the only way of getting solid drivers No, I really don't care about that stupid certification.
