  1. An answer to the web sites using your CPU resources: https://www.howtogeek.com/334018/how-to-block-cryptocurrency-miners-in-your-web-browser/
  2. Hi all, I've managed to get somewhere after a lot of trial and error and reading up. I used the standard HDD/ODD screws from the kit included with the case to secure the mechanical drives to the hdd trays. I've used the HDD tray screws as indicated in the case manual to secure the trays to the hdd cage. They look like the bottom middle bagged screws in this image. See the following post: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=154066
  3. I am wanting to screw the hard drives in to reduce vibration noise. In the manual for the case, there are diagrams indicating you can do so. The holes lineup perfectly. The SSDs screw in from the bottom on the trays Aircraft engineers refer to datasheets which list which screw or rivet is required where in detail.
  4. Aircraft manufactures know it for aircraft. So why not the same standard for a computer cas?. Why design a computer case and not make sure the components all fit together as they should? You wouldn't stick a cheap PSU in an overclocked build
  5. Well, I've worked out that the normal "HDD/ODD" screws are used to fit the hard drive to the hdd tray; however I am struggling to work out which screw fixes the hdd tray to the hdd cage. If anyone knows, please do @ me.
  6. How bad of a response can you get ... Corsair's Customer Support Response: They design a case and then don't have a clue what they have designed.
  7. Hi all, Recently purchased 2 t-shirts from the linus store. Got some codes to share for someone. When they are gone, they are gone! 5% discount code is STICKERFACE. 15% discount code is TWD17BQ1H. Enjoy and I'm sorry if this is being a little cheeky but I believe in sharing
  8. @Pendragon, Temperate results are as I expected. I've seen a good 4-5 degrees drop in temperatures on the CPU and a few on the GPU also. Test environment: - Ambient temp of 16 deg C on all tests - High Power Plan used on all tests - Ran for 30 minutes exactly on all tests - No network connections - Same settings for Prime95 and Furmark CPU Results: Dell Thermal Paste: GE Extreme Thermal Paste: GPU Results (Furmark, max resolution 1600x900, AA off, full screen, rotating camera): Dell Thermal Paste: GE Extreme:
  9. Hi guys, An update for you. I ended up using the Windows system image recovery option for my dad's laptop. If I were to use a third party, at the moment I would recommend using Macrium free as Backupper isn't working well at all with Windows 10 at the moment. Pete
  10. Brilliant and understood Thank you so much ps: I'll post some results of the difference between temperatures as I'll be stress testing dells thermal solution compared to the GE paste
  11. Thanks. I asked because there seems to be a gap: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/R5IYBLhwLkkHFml-3aDdJlw_ZNGFCsQbcvoquelnGQrSqVkPB87Nh8eN29GAZKOubpk9TSpZmhdANpg=w1920-h960-rw CPU without thermal solution (i5 6200u). Also to clarify, it's a 5759 (suspect a typo on your part). EDIT: @Pendragon, please could you edit the CPU image with colours as to where I should apply thermal paste and in what pattern? I would really appreciate it
  12. @Pendragon, Sorry bud, can I pick your brains again? This is for the replacement laptop (the Dell Inspiron 5759). Is the following a thermal pad replacement or just a paste job? Thanks in advance chuck: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1w7Tm1SmIHvOXdEMU44bHZXZ3c?usp=sharing There should be three images in the above link - if not let me know EDIT: Service Manual states: So should I get one of those expensive thermal pads instead of using the GE thermal paste?
  13. Fair enough Upgrading the Windows 10 on it to the creator's edition just now. It's taking it's time though lol.
