  1. I just got a GTX 1070 for myself for my birthday, and was aware of the fact that my FX-6300 at clock speeds would definitely bottleneck the card, as my monitor is only a 1080p 60hz monitor. When the time comes for me to get a 1440p or 4k monitor, I will need to upgrade the CPU and get a new motherboard, I'll more than likely be on a budget. With that being said what is the cheapest CPU I can buy that won't bottleneck the card?
  2. I can't say I can tell you much about toshiba. A few more is the Seagate Barracuda. I know for a fact seagate has good products. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-ST1000DM003-inch-Barracuda-Drive/dp/B005T3GRNW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1459024567&sr=8-2&keywords=1tb+hdd
  3. then a $50 1TB green drive will be your best choice.
  4. That's a good question. If you've had your HDD for a long time, like a few years, it's time to trash it. It's hard to actually be sure of the reliability compared to SSDs and HDDs. If you drop your machine, a HDD would surely be trashed. an SSD would likely be fine.
  5. I'll assume the Barracuda is also a SATA HDD then. Unless you're also running a NAS / other service, you won't need an SSD.
  6. P.S. If your motherboard is a PATA board an SSD would easily be bottlenecked by it. An SSD would be pointless.
  7. HDD is more than suitable for a server. Considering you're not running any other instances. The only advantages of an SSD is faster loading time when starting the server.
  8. w-why would your PSU be of any concern? If your power isn't spiking from your 120VAC wall socket and it's a reputable brand, and it can handle the rated power consumption, why would it not be good enough running 24/7?
  9. Hey, that's pretty good! Where is it?
  10. 2M cache... 90nm lithography.... 3.8ghz clock speed... Single Core... 64 bit... Jesus... this thing is all over the place.
  11. I don't have the biggest budget at the moment. About a year ago when I was very naive about computers (I was twelve, and a moron) I built a system with a Xeon x3430, 4gb DDR3, a GTX 660, a CX 430, and a Intel DQ57TM. My budget was small at the time, and I sold my motherboard and CPU because I thought I wouldn't need that computer anymore. I used it for Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects and Firefox. Nothing else. Whatever the case, I need that PC again but I don't have money for a new expensive motherboard and CPU. Anyone have any suggestions?
  12. I guess that makes sense. It is kind of pointless for a few friends. Thumbs up
  13. So instead of purchasing a Titan X ith the $1000, you.. get an elite? I don't understand, to be honest.
  14. Not trying to sound ignorant, but who the hell uses torrent for something other than pirating? I mean, it's not as practical as some other options out there. Isn't Wired (or some tech news website) doing the same thing, recommending it to adblock users?
  15. Don't know how you'd have that budget, but I don't blame you. I have the same budget. Try something used like an i5-750. Hope I helped
  16. Try out an R9 380. I think the performance is relative and it has 4gb GDDR5.
  17. Not like it matters too much anyway. Lots of games are going for GPU usage, the kinds of non-AI games. If the performance of CPUs come to a screeching halt, all you'd really have to worry about is bottlenecking.
  18. They have some T models from the late 2000's, then the g3258 and other unknown pentiums. Probably some pointless name like always. Call it the Pentium 9xxxK.
  19. Glad to help. Try out a low budget i5. The AMD APUs don't have much of a point unless you're not getting a GPU. I mean, you're getting the best budget stuff for your price range. I'll research and see what I can find.
  20. Some new leaks. Apparently it'll be less powerful but more efficient, something on those lines. Wouldn't that be, nah.... I think there are a lot other generations of pentiums in the last while. Probably the 8th or 9th.
