  1. i already have an ssd in my pc, i just want to be able to do some light video editing and play some ram hogging games (factorio). I also use a vm session from time to time for schoolwork. I found the ram modules that are in my pc now: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/bls2c4g3d1609es2lx0ceu-8gb-kit/9200000010549959/ thx for all the quick reply's from all of you ツ
  2. that was my question ツ can i just add 2 more of the same memory sticks to get 16GB without the cpu or motherboard derping?
  3. i've looked at that in advance and it seems like 32 GB kits are very expansive (>€150). i'm not really willing to spent that much yet on my new desktop. That's why i would like to just buy 2 more sticks of ram.
  4. i bought a prebuild pc a couple of months ago, and i want to upgrade the amount of ram it has specs: - CPU: i5 4460 - motherboard: ASUS H97-PLUS - RAM: 2x 4GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1600 UDIMM the motherboard has a total of 4 slots, 2 of which are used currently. the cpu can support up to 32GB of ram. my question is, can i just buy 2 more sticks of the same ram and put them in, or do i have to buy a new set off 4? i'm not really into computer building and i have had some problems with compatible ram in the past. a second question involves the cpu. In the datasheet of the cpu it says it has 4 cores and 4 threads, but speccy shows that Hyperthreading is supported but disabled. Can i enable this myself in the bios or is this a motherboard spec? thanks in advance ッ links to components: CPU:http://ark.intel.com/products/80817/Intel-Core-i5-4460-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_40-GHz motherboard: https://www.asus.com/be-nl/Motherboards/H97PLUS/ ram: http://eu.crucial.com/ProductDisplay?urlRequestType=Base&catalogId=10152&categoryId=&productId=11363&urlLangId=-1&langId=-1&top_category=&parent_category_rn=&storeId=10152
  5. I checked what the price would be if i would build it myself, i got the prices from 'beslist.be' which is an belgian webshop: i5-4460: €200 gtx 970: €368 1TB hdd: €55 120GB ssd: €53 8GB ddr3: €58 520W ps: €70 i couldn't find a case or motherboard quickly but my gues is about €150 that makes a total of €954
  6. @qhyzix apperantly there are no additional taxes within the EU. the difference between https://www.alternate.nl/ALTERNATE/Thunderstorm-GM510-PC-Systeem/html/product/1218372?tk=6177&lk=9917 and https://www.alternate.de/ALTERNATE/Gamescom-2K15-PC-W10-64-PC-System/html/product/1214408?tk=8&lk=6706 are the graphics card and the hdd storage 2TB vs 1TB gtx960 vs gtx970 i assume for the same price i would choose for the one with 1TB and the gtx 970
  7. @DarkBlade2117 €225,99 ($251) for the i5-4460
  8. @qhyzix it's strange that the parts for the same price change from countries so close together, the one that i linked if from the alternate site from the netherlands because on the belgian site it gives the same pc but with only 1TB hdd compared to 2TB with the one from the netherlands. Is there an additional tax for sending it to belgium?
  9. @DarkBlade2117 i have no idea what type of power supply is includen, it just says 500W
  10. i'm from Belgium (Europe) so i can't use most of the US site because the huge packaging costs. The first place where i think of to buy parts would be bol.com and they sell a GTX 960 for €250 ($280) cheapest.
  11. I want to buy a gaming pc to replace my old desktop, the pc i'm currently thinking of is this one: https://www.alternate.nl/ALTERNATE/Thunderstorm-GM510-PC-Systeem/html/product/1218372?tk=6177&lk=9917 it's an €999 (about $1100) prebuild pc. my current pc has an amd phenom 1035t, 4GB ram and a gt 320 i'm choosing a prebuild because i don't want to research parts for 2 month and i have no idea where i would but/compare pc parts (i'm from Belgium). I have never build a custom pc, nor do i know somebody who does. Does the spec sheet justify the €999 pricecard you think? Thanks in advance
