  1. Hi there, I just purchased a HD PVR2 and installed the software. The software is very buggy. Sometimes my display from ps4 to the software will just be blank and I will have to restart it for it to come up. When I try to export a clip it crashes every time. I tried reinstalling it but it has not helped. At this stage, I would be open to moving to a different software similar to Hauppages layout as it is good but just won't function as it should. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  2. Yeah I heard Strix is the better version. However to save money Ill put it into getting other new parts or maybe a few steam sale games Thanks for your input im ordering that now.
  3. Do you think so? Ive never been mad about overclocking and I will only be playing on 1440p so I shouldnt have any problems getting above 60fps on any game. For the sake of saving money too. What makes the gigabyte model a good cooler?
  4. I am not even sure if it makes a significant difference. The two that I am looking at are: 1.Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1080 (GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD) 2.Asus ROG Strix GeForce GTX1080 (STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING) I can save around £30 by going with the gigabyte version. I know that the Asus has higher clock speeds but does it make enough of a difference to spend the extra money on it? I would appreciate anyones input on this.
  5. I got in contact with amazon and apparently I get a 1 year warranty with used items so thats a relief.
  6. I am looking to upgrade my computer to a gtx 1080. I can save around £50-£80 I buy from Amazon Warehouse. The ones that I am looking at have "Used - Verygood" or "Used - like new" with just the item may become repackaged. What are peoples thoughts on this and would it be worth saving the money buying from here? How does the warranty work and all that. Thanks.
  7. Im in Ireland so I'd probably be buying from ebay, amazon or any other provider around europe. Well if I were to go a curved 1440p id rather not go over 400 but if I cant get cheaper than that I think I would leave it.
  8. Any recommendations? Also whats your thoughts on buying used/refurbished monitors?
  9. Well I know they wont be cheap, but if like to go as cheap as possible.
  10. Im looking to upgrade to a 1440p monitor. However, ive come across curved monitors and they look really nice. I was wondering what peoples thoughts are and what the advantages and disadvantages of both are?I am currently on 1080p but want to upgrade to 1440p. If anyone could recommend a budget option of a curved 1440p id appreciate it.
  11. Oh ok, thanks for the heads up! Yeah CPU's and RAM seem to be a safe bet to buy used. I'm not sure id risk anything else after that.
  12. Whats an ES chip and how do I know if it is one? My current cpu is a used i5 and i have had no issues with it but I want to hear other peoples opinions on it too.
  13. Another thing, whats your thoughts on buying used CPU's? I can save a lot of money from what ive gathered. From a seller with a good reputation.
  14. I never would have thought that. I think its more the hype of Ryzen thats made me consider moving to it more than anything. But id end up spending a couple hundred more on ddr4 ram and motherboard so I suppose your right.
  15. Ok so it wouldnt be worth it to change over to a ryzen CPU?
  16. So I was originally planning to upgrade to a 1070 but now that the price difference between that and the 1080 is so small im going to go for the 1080. My current build is the following: CPU:I5 4460 GPU: GTX 780TI 3gb RAM: 8gb ddr3 Im stuck on a few different scenarios regarding upgrading. Get GTX 1080 first. Get Ryzen 5 1600 then 1080. Stay on 1150 socket, get i7 4790 and 1080. What would be the best way about going about it. I can get all the parts probably in around a month. For short term I am playing a lot of Player unknown which I know is not optimized but I would like to have the best performance in that. I would appreciate anyones advice on what way I should go about upgrading. Thanks in advance.
  17. Yeah maybe I wont eat for a few weeks so i can but this
  18. Yeah I have a bit of cash lying around so why not when its only 50euro more expensive!
  19. Ok I get you. Thanks for your help i'll definitely put psu to the top of my priority list.
  20. Oh your saying I should get a new PSU before I upgrade to a highend card like that? You're probably right id much rather be on the safer side of things.
  21. Yeah ill definitely be upgrading that soon as id be paranoid something would go wrong. If I was to go for a 1070/1080 would 500w be ok or go for something more ?
  22. Oh really i didnt think it performed that well. Im 99% certain its 80+ bronze.
  23. Im not sure the exact model ill have to check. I will probably upgrade the PSU in a few months just to be on the safe side. May I ask your reasoning on getting the 1060? Wouldnt that struggle in some games? I would prefer to max the shit out of everything i play
