Anbu reacted to NumLock21 in Cabels where? Asus z180-a
That sticker that says plug here, but it doesn't tell you the top or bottom one.
Seriously it does not matter, as long as it's connected and you set it as one of the boot devices, it will boot up.

SSD in the top OS drive slot and HDDs in the two Sata ports next to it
Why don't you just read a manual it's not that hard and would easily explain it

You can have the H100i installed and fit a rear fan in just fine bud. I have a Corsair H105 installed and the rear fan isn't blocked at all. All you need to do is slide the rear fan down to the bottom of the rails it's screwed into. That will give you enough room to mount it. Bear in mind that you'll have to have your tubing coming from the right side of the case, as with the rear fan installed there is not enough room to squeeze tubing between it and the radiator.
Hope that helps!

i would put the cooling unit at the top of the case. i have the define r4 and the top would be ideal IMO

I have pull in my R5 with a crossflow rad (so not an AIO) but it did involve me introducing a hacksaw to my rear IO frame. Very frustrating that they couldn't relocate the mounting holes 2-3mm closer to the front of the case.

Anbu reacted to Curufinwe_wins in H100i GTX in Define R5
Yep, and aio rads are a little bit longer. It's a tiny little difference that would have solved the issue completely. (or moved the rad mounting slots about 5 cm farther away from the mobo.)
Still awesome case, I love it but that's a small yet annoying complaint.

I have a x61 in that exact case (the r5 and s are exactly the same outside of o/hdd rails). It really only makes sense to put it in the top two rearmost slots (this makes by far the most sense from an airflow perspective).
I will warn you though it isn't possible to do pull (or for that matter push/pull) on the r5 in the top back two slots because 280 aio rads (outside the h240-x) are a little bit lengthened by the reservoir which causes them to hit the io panel of your mobo if you put them in pull.
Push is still doable though, but I did have to mod my closest fan (cut off a bit of the rubber corner) because my mobo has an insanely large i/o shield that caused the rad to be harder to place (this wouldn't have been an issue with literally any other motherboard out there)
Putting the 280 in the front eliminates any possibility of using the r5 for its only benefits over the s, and to be honest its never a good idea to intake with rad anyways, so unless you want poor airflow it doesn't make sense to place there.

I don't have any experience with this but I'd put it at the front if I didn't want to open the top moduvents and didn't mind moving the drive cages, and otherwise the top because it's generally easier but won't look quite as good.

if you are using this for photoshop, premiere, and streaming, go with an i7 or a xeon 1231v3
don't get a gigabyte board for overclocking the cpu. it won't let you set adaptive mode for your vring and cache ratio. get the z170-p from asus instead or the z170 pro gaming if you want sli
don't get the cx series psu, they are shit

Anbu reacted to brob in My new build.
I have not found reviews of the CS750M, but reviews of the CS850M and CS650M report issues with ripple on the +12V line and the use of lower quality capacitors. Out of spec hold up time has also been noted on the CS850M unit.
If there are no better psu available, the CS750M will do okay. However, a better psu will improve the chances of a stable and higher overclock.

Skylake will let you mount next CPUs also which is good, on LGA1150 the best you get is i7-4790K...

yes the CSM is supperior to the CX and it's a much more recommendable PSU for sure.
If you only ever plan to use ONE graphics card then a 550W or 600W would be plenty...just saying.

don't get the gigabyte board. it won't let you set adaptive mode for your cache ratio and vring. go with msi, asrock, or asus instead if you're going with the 4690k
you don't need that big of a psu if you have a 970. even if you went dual 970 in sli, you'd only need 650w for a solid overclock on the gpu's and the cpu
the fractal case is excellent, i have one
if you need help overclocking the cpu, check out my cpu overclocking guide. link in my forum signature
for a single 970 and a 4690k, all you need is a 500w psu for overclocking them both
edit:
get an evga g2 or gs series psu

Anbu reacted to BigDay in Need your opinion guys...
520w is more than enough. do you want to go sli with the 970? if so, get a 600-650w psu

Looks good, but yeah, I think you'd be better off with an EVGA, Seasonic PSU. The CX PSUs aren't good for higher end builds.

Just wondering why go to haswell when skylake just came out? It would make you less temped to buy a new cpu later on. I'm guessing Croatia is expensive when new hardware comes out.

Anbu reacted to KayTees in Need your opinion guys...
So you currently have 3 Drives, 16GB of RAM and a GPU? Is this all in boxes so far or do you have these in a system? Everything that you want to buy looks good with everything you already have or bought. Generally, if you want a AiO Liquid Cooler, they don't have that much of a impact on how much Watts you need for the PSU. But 750W is pretty good, but a EVGA G2 PSU is better IMO.
-
Anbu reacted to Aytex in Need your opinion guys...
evga G2 is a better PSU
get a cpu cooler
yes 750W is enough. and like i said take a look at the EVGA g2 750 wat
if you want you can spend more towards a 4790k for extra rendering/editing preformance
