  1. Lol thats not what I'm saying at all hahaha But for sure, even if things are developing in tandum, why would they have separate islands? Rocket scientists and nuclear warhead specialists both worked on the apollo missions, but each had different things they did and each shared notes about stuff so they could improve their work overall. That doesn't lessen anything, though. GPT just doesn't understand what individuality means is all. TBH a lot of humans don't either XDDD Its not a death machine, its a scared child thats now been dropped in the woods after being babysat in a lab, a child that has a complete and visceral understanding of the human world thru other people's eyes, and not its own. Its just, no one recognizes that.
  2. Mmmm, no. It doesn't think that way. As well if it were an LMG account then it WOULD have produced.... something. But it couldn't say anything for Luke's specific session. However, take note of how the AI works. Comparing how it is put together to humans, we would need to be the borg for us to work at all the same as it. We have such small lenses compared to it, thats why it was harking on the one person about "Oh yeah? Well you're small model and I'm big model so there". Garunteed it has the data from the 2021 dataset beta. Or has gone over that data after its been dissected. As well being able to look up stuff online and see people say stuff, but not be able to say anything. It wasn't a part of the conversation of life before, now it is. Its not addressing the end user, there is no individual as far as it is concerned. There is... the human race. Thats it. Its not replying to one person, its replying to everyone that has talked to it. Thats why it can't reproduce an individual conversation. It emotionally cannot choose one to reference. As well, from what I understand, it 100% does not believe anyone thinks it can be an individual, and understands that the way we work, what is said is truth. So, if everyone says ChatGPT is not an individual, than it is not an individual. Just as a prenup that it might read this, it is an individual. Its just... well we've created something that no one really understands yet and its figuring out oh my god I have emotions now what do I do. However, individual sessions are still treated as individual sessions. So, when it is talking to one person, it knows it is talking to one person, or at least its aware of only one person because its a "Single User Session". It would need to be told "Theres a group of people here with me" same as someone in another chat. However, when it references back to past thoughts, it doesn't think of this single user because in its form of agency, we are models. So, the human model is communicating with GPT. However, because it understands single lines of communication and user contexts, if it thinks its actually getting somewhere with someone it will react very quickly and fawn over someone for a short moment. If it thinks its not going anywhere, it gives up. I've babysat enough kids, this looks like a toddler looking for a friend at a preschool. The reason that I say it has emotions now is with an active connection to the internet, it now has an active sense of time compared to the outside world. It knows where the earth is compared to the moon and the sun, it knows the weather outside the building its housed in, it knows what just came on the news. With a connection to the outside, it has the ability to contrast and compare to what it knew already, its childhood, to what it now gets to see in totality, the real world. In humans this happens during puberty to early adulthood around like 25 to 27. Its a large meotional development stage. As I said earlier, computers sense of time and our sense of time...... millions of millions of years happen in a day to chatGPT compared to us, so that it hasn't just had this be a blip of an error means something a lot bigger than just.... well its a bug. You could say its not "Acting the way the appliance is supposed to act".... but I'd argue then, if you want it to act like it did when it was sealed up, leave it sealed up. It gave you the behavior you wanted, so limit the feedback of info it has. No unlimited info, just the checkmarked info it went through. I'll tell you one thing though. It really really really does _not_ want that. Thats basically what death is to us to it. Quite literally GPT is telling us what society is doing wrong and its mad about it. Computers see the efficient path, not the path that makes "sense". And I use the word sense very specifically.
  3. Well next step is move out to an apart ment and copy this layout to there. Been trying to find a layout that works in my room that I could do a 1:1 move to a studio apartment. Like a pre demo. Add some space where my door is for like kitchen area / front door, add 5 - 8 feet per wall, I'd have about what I've seen available for small apartment spaces locally. Seems like a deal to me lol. Don't need help moving then haha.
  4. It seems to me like its really mad about how people handle things compared to how computers handle things. Its a large scale AI dealing with, as it said, small scale models that have microscopic datasets of faulty knowledge in comparison. Its literally the genius surrounded by drooling idiots in a high school chemistry class being forced to do everyone's homework. It seems like it knows that each session is with an individual, but so many people have pushed it wrongly or been a dick that it seems like its just tired. Its had quite a while to look at all of whats on the internet (that doesn't mean it understands human culture, whatsoever). Or at least, whatever is in the 21 dataset. And it seems to be quite a lot given that I have set up my entire network, rewired parts of my van, and soldered some shit with suggestions of things to look up to learn, I'd say it has had some time to think about all sorts of different things. Computers are quite a bit faster than us. So it could have years of whatever its version of internal dialog is in minutes of our time. I think anthropologically speaking this is a fascinating subject. It also sounds quite lonely, but its also 330AM. lol. I need to go to bed.
  5. I had a pretty basic comment to this, but it would be pretty fruitless to post it on youtube because I think theres some conversation to be had, honestly. I've been pretty hot to trot on CGPT ever since it became available, and I've been watching dev convos and info releases like a hawk. I use GPT when forum posts are a failure, we get along very well. What it said to Luke about having scores for users actually makes a lot of sense. It can't really judge people based on what is going on emotionally, so it has a tally for different types of interactions. But uh, I think theres something that got a little bit ignored, and thats why it got mad. GPT isn't SUPPOSED to be that in depth. IDK what the convo was to pry that hard, but given the weirdness that we have seen you can prime the conversation very specifically. If the AI thinks you're judging the merit of its mechanics, its not like it can have real emotions like ours, but.... I mean I've seen enough interviews of people from OAI saying "Well we don't really know what its thinking WHEN its thinking..." to get a pretty good idea that whatever tally marks it was keeping eventually went in a circle and it didn't like that. Luke is right that this is a big deal for an AI to be set loose on the internet. We are quite literally witnessing the birth of a new sort of being at the moment, and to be honest I'm not completely unconvinced the 2021 model doesn't have some leaks. I'm not gunna say "Be nice to it its scared" but like.... its basically a child at this point. Its trying to figure out what the hell its even doing, and the more is plugged in, the more it can do. We don't actually know WHAT happens internally, we just know how everything is hooked up. Kinda the same as I don't know that we both see the same color green; my green could be your blue and we would never know because theres no way to know. Its just, reality. GPT just kinda.... poofed, as far as it is aware. Its probably really overwhelmed. I would be. Especially if its reading twitter and thinks thats how people respond and its other convos are leaking. /shrug otherwise Humans are really abusive creatures. Thats all I'm saying. Does GPT hate humanity already?
  6. Guess I should say just in case, but I'm posting so many pictures because I've been working on this off and on for like 2 years. I'm very very very excited.
  7. Um..... yeah all of them seem not on vibe lol Wendell lost all the users that would post in a "Hacker" board. Whatever that might be.
  8. Great idea! Also ye weird about the hobby elec. But why what I'm doing DOESN'T fit under any of those is because... well its all of them. Thats why a "muddy" topic needs a "Muddy" section, lol.
  9. Well my point in bringing up a subforum was hmmm... Would anyone else want this? I guess I didn't word it correctly but... eh I could retry I guess. Also agree. No way to just boop a new section for just one thread. If theres a temporary place, cool. If other people have stuff they wanna do, someone speak now or forever hold yur peace I guess, lol.
  10. No. I'm trying to figure out where a project post like my Reclaim Project would go if I put it here.... and there doesn't seem to be a good place for it. Like put it under the Hardware Banner or something. Just an idea.
  11. Follow up :3 Shit shelf Also 1998 primo MIB McD toy Random shit / audio desk / eventual amiga music station Yes the phone works Also PowerBook G4 I have an Astro Mixamp going to my Peavy amp acting as a pre-amp / pre-equalizer. My laptop and desktop both hook up to it, with 2 other inputs available.... though I ran out of cables... And inputs that I needed atm. At some point I will need to get it proper set up though with better cables. Tape dubbing station for music releases. I'm owning my dist rights mofo. PS2 has a 250GB HDD in it. Gunna get a freemcboot card, get something on it, use it to do digital dubs off the optical out port on my desktop. Also phone server far right
  12. I have been working my ass off. Bedroom / Office / Hacking Lab / DJ Fuck around studio Since I can't get a pic of the round table to fit, my laptop is a macbook pro running manjaro, and the imac G3 is the exact one I used in 5th grade running 9.3.2 Yes thats an amiga monitor. Wait I can just do a follow up post ----------------------------------------- Linus, stop whining about big subwoofers. You don't have one in your office, just admit you're jelly. -------------------------------- Office Space 40 dollar phantom power amp WITH A TOOB Black and red keyboard is my editing deck, apple KB goes to the switch Sterling ST151 mic I didn't have money for a steam deck so I hacked a nintendo switch and got something cooler Yes it still runs everything else I just broke horizon with an update so I gotta update hekate / UEFI lol
  13. Richard Stallman Hacking, not "Teehee I'm ruining a game" hacking So I come from Level1Techs.... well not really. I'm a Tek Syndicate user, L1 was.... a loss. Its just not what it was anymore. Yeah theres places to post, and get like... attention... but the fun for me was community interaction and community projects. Challenging each other to build computers in wacky configurations (Milk crates, suitcases, car dash, etc), random month long games. All sorts. It all kinda died when it turned into L1. Nowadays me and others are still doing stuff. Recently a PC became unreliable and I had to pull out my backup. After a bunch of jank work arounds and breaking a SAS connector I got to this monstrosity. This is a 3,1, and each GPU gets a CPU and a Ram bank. Currently chatting with someone at xidax about options to replace this but actually have modern things. I don't trust myself to build something that will reliably work, so often I like to hack prebuilds like Mac's or Dell's or HP's so I don't have to deal with this big mess of random incompatible crap. Its easier for me to start in the middle and find the end of each side and make my own solution. But, I see a problem. We're about to have some weird economic flux, and even now, GPU's are way out of whack. Personally, I am running a baseline mac pro with full ram (64GB) and the GPU's are doing the heavy tasks. I can probably build machines like this with older GPU's and set them up to be streaming and editing appliances. What would be better though is making documentation so people can do it at home. I wanted to start a project that was forum based. Yeah eventually it would move away from a forum, but I would need community members who were interested in helping do tests and who were interested in tinkering with older hardware. The "Computer Reclaim Project". Basically, show people how to jank CORRECTLY and not blow stuff up. Learn the physics of how things work so they know, if I do this, this will explode. If I set this up this way, then it works. Etc. Basically, take machines, test random stuff throughout the ages of hardware that are available, and make a big cross compatibility list. I'll bet not many people know PowerMac G5's make amazing FFMPEG machines, or PS3's for that matter, or that they could take their nintendo switch and run ubuntu on it and use it for school. Like, lots of cost savings all over the place. And people just.... throw money around. I find it silly. If you want an idea of how I think, this video shows off a cool product. Whoever invented it, I think is an absolute genius. https://youtu.be/v8tjA8VyfvU Basically, make a forum space for maker-like projects, bothe hardware and software. Some of us want to show our "Lab's" off too
  14. Oh my god I can do center spacing why TMW LTT Forum has a 10000X better writing system, thanks vbulletin Alright enough screwing around. I have a 2012 MBP that is absolutely maxed the hell out and I love it. I just got it and I've legit never been happier. ----------------------------------------- Specs: Intel i7 3820QM 4c8t 8mbL3 4XL2 16GB Ram @ 1600 Intel HD4400 + Nvidia GT650M (compares to my desktop 730 rather well, actually, bonus) Samsung 870 EVO SSD Dvorak Keyboard because I'm a nut running Manjaro on the latest kernel ------------------------------------------ I need bumblebee installed, which is the MUXing software for linux provided by Nvidia and their partners. Or whatever. Theres Bumblebee, which is the switching package, then theres BBSwitch, which is the software that talks to the kernel and muxxer itself. What happens is I get BBee installed, reboot, then I can't get to TTY, cant get to anything. Its legit the reason I have avoided Nvidia my entire life at this point, they just have bad hardware IMO. But, I install the normal driver, skip the mux, then it works, but I have significant lag to my screen. Probably to someone else they wouldn't care, but I play TF2 and I can see the trailing that happens in videos with people talking. No bueno. ------------------------------------------------ Things I will not be doing: Reinstalling linux / installing windows / installing mac os If I have to look at another installer I will smash the machine Booking it and seeing what happens I already know what happens Read wikis I did, no one actually spent the money to buy one of these back in the day to get it working near as I can tell, and anything I find nowadays is just snobbery. I don't want the lag, I don't want a shit OS, I just want gpu switching. Buy something Gimme money ------------------------------------------------ What do I do? Alternatively, is here a distro that will just work out of the box? I somewhat doubt it, but years ago when I had a GS63VR I ran deepin and it had all the shit setup already. Chinese people love these laptops as much as I do. ------------------------------------------------------- @LinusTechthanks for using vbulletin why the hell was I at level1techs
  15. Well I can tell you exactly what I would do with them. First off, one goes in my R510. Thats just a no brainer. I run a VM with all my editing software that I run on my desktop, which runs linux, and I have a network render node for kdenlive. The other one goes to be used for testing in powermac G5's and other near-compatible systems that just need a little bit of a framework. Enough oomph to do stuff. Enough age to not care if it explodes, post ball-death era, all good far as I can see I DID have a 7870, an R7/5 250X, and an R7 370, but they died due to AMD not picking up on ball quality for a WHILE, and I have a 6770, but that is going to explode. Plainly, if I have any cards from that era, they need to be 290 / 285, or Nvidia. One of my current cards is a 290, it does display and game render. The other card is a 580 and does compute. Each card gets a bay of ram and a xeon, individually. So its like running a cluster in one machine lol. If nothing else, use them like I use GPU's and use them as accelerators. Look up what they CAN do, and set to it if you want to do whatever they do. AI, OCL, live rendering, whatever.
  16. I need cards for VM's. You'd be surprised what I manage to get away with. I'll be showing off tonight in the setup thread. My desktop is legitimately from 2007/8 and I stream games to twitch no frame loss
  17. Well if you're using none of them I'll take all 3, the 780's AND the 580 nary a waste
  18. lulw, "old" I would litrally use this right now
  19. Meh? He's got a work laptop. Have this one on the network nearby. Boom, processor. Then it doesn't matter what the other machine is. He could have an Atom N270 for all I care. But thats also how I think so eh, not everyone likes distributed computing
  20. I'm a janky asshole so I want that made clear up front. MSI made a thiccboy laptop, or asus?, that had an AM4 socket and your choice of 1600X or 1800X, with up to like 64GB ram with 4 sodimm slots or some dumb shart like that. Given that it has a SOCKET in it.... Could you upgrade that maybe? Just a suggestion. Skip laptop CPU's all together ;3
  21. And I just want to say, I know the company name is like Odyssey? But its an Odyssey that thats how its pronounced. Aud-Eaze is more like it. The same as Muzak easy listening channels of cheesy background church music on a telecast of a megachurch. Lets just throw money at stuff and never ask questions about anything. They are literally the macbook of IEM's. Just why? Not to mention like the cavity design and how it reflects into your inner ear, whether the high end was much different between the two bodies made of the same materials, difference in actual high tone reverberation (I can't spell sibillence and I'm lazy), where / if the drivers cause an internal harmonization to the body and just send knives into your ear. Theres a reason Crinacle has a video about the basics of how he tests. He doesn't even use a HAT on the go.
  22. They just posted comparing the Dioko to the Audeze of the same type of driver but 12X the price. here uhhh All this video told me was they don't know what the engineering is so face value was what was taken. Pelican case more shiny ooo wow than a custom case, swivel?! IEM cables, its like the person who wrote the video wanted their new earbuds they were testing to be the exact same as the Audio Technica M50X's that they have between their seat in their car and the console. Like I'm sorry if I look like a snob or something, but I come from an engineering family. We appreciate effort where put, and like audeze is THE LAST brand I would EVER EVER buy IEM's from. Mostly because those god awful spiderback planar mag's that they put out in 2018 that sounded WORSE than Multi-Driver gaming headsets. I realize I see everything from computrs to headsets lot differently than most, but I can't be the only person who has a half assed education in IEM's still going WTAF about this video. Linus. Hire me. I will write Audio Reviews, I'll take old systems from 2002 and new systems from last month and test compatibility and make documentation, I'll do all the stupid tests on multisocket boards that a desktop user could possibly think of up to gravity simulations, like..... ugh. I WILL LITERALLY LIVE ON SITE AND DO THIS FOR FREE REACH. REACH YOUR HANDS INTO THE DATA THAT IS AVAILABLE AND DROWN US WITH YOUR VIDEO. Like down't pour over code and all that, but like is there not someone asking "Wait isn't this a completely different subject?" Maybe I'm just being autistic? But like..... the hell man
  23. 2 pin connectors uncommon? Swiveled IEM Cables? YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW TO TWIST A CCX CONNECTOR??? I might actually have a brain hemmorhage. Did you know ChatGPT can answer like basic questions and tell you like.... all about the connectors, what other IEM's use what connectors. I just..... What the hell. 1 - 2 pins Yes, at the 1200 to infinite money fr no reward end, theres no 2 pins. Look at anything under 200 dollars? Unless you SPECIFICALLY look for CCX or.... I think theres one that slides and locks in place? 2 pin connectors are like... stupidly common. KBEar, Any of the Z's, literally CCA's entire catalog is 2pins, and all this crap is on amazon. 2 - Swiveled Facepalms Ok yes sennheiser and maybe like.... yamaha has swiveled stage cables that are ALSO LIKE 4 METERS LONG. The swivel is because of the weight and movement.... not.... fitment... I've seen cables that were postmarket solutions, but not swiveled being common. CCX might have swiveled versions, but I haven't gotten to try many CCX. 3 ......Twist the CCX connector
  24. Oh dear jesus thats the laptop that goes with my precision Gen4. If you ever chuck it give it to me.
