I'm using audiophile headphones (Creative Aurvana Live!) and it is incredible.
You will need to get a separate microphone though but you get great sound.
 
Note that CAL! is a sound stage oriented audiophile headphone, so compared to something like Audio Technica ATH-M50 (which is also incredible) it will have way more accurate 3D positioning which is a huge plus for music and games. The only problem is that the CAL! isn't a tank but if you are using it at home PC gaming only, there is no problem
 
Also if you have SRS, Creative or Razer Surround Software, you can enhance the music, bass and surround sound.

I'm using the Live 2 but from my understanding the Live is more balanced than the Live 2 where as the Live 2 has more emphasise on the bass.

No problem. Glad I could be of help. Yeah you might want to get some more opinions regarding switches as you can see that I am biased towards reds hahaha.

Func KB460 is supposed to be pretty good.

Please note that the Mionix is geared towards palm grippers with large hands. I was recommended the Mionix and G502. When I tried the Mionix it was too large and the right side got in the way as I am a claw gripper. The only issues that may make the G502 bad is the weight or ergonomics, which is pretty much subjective to the individual.
You are right about the G502 being worshiped as some kind of god though. I have met many people who prefer other mice such as Roccat and Zowie. I honestly feel the same about keyboards though as the Corsair K70 is pretty much worshipped as a god keyboard despite the existence of Ducky. Perhaps this has something to do with availability?
