  1. I did all the steps again, but updated the CPU IMC Gear 2. Successfully booted to windows, and RAM is now using 3200MHz. Still trying to learn the difference, but I'll probably keep it this way for now.
  2. Hey y'all, just finished building my new PC. I'm trying to enable XMP to run my RAM at their advertised speed, but it's failing. Parts list here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vRzZH2 It's currently running at 2400MHz I basically followed MSI's how-to guide, motherboard in the guide is different, but I assumed the steps are pretty much the same. Go to BIOS Select XMP Profile 1 Save and exit The PC then restarted, and the Motherboard error LED for CPU lit up, with the DRAM error LED flashing a couple times. This error is displayed after a few minutes: Pressing F1 brought me to the BIOS where the speed displayed is now 2666MHz. Exiting the BIOS just showed me the error again. Disabling the XMP profile let's me boot into windows. What do I need to do to enable this?
  3. Aight, noted. I'll look around a bit more to see what's the cheaper CPU and motherboard combo between 5600 and 12400 (or 12400F), and pick that then. Thanks for the inputs y'all.
  4. Gotcha, I thought the only difference was the integrated graphics lol. Been running with integrated graphics since 2019 cause my card died, wanted to ensure I have a backup in case it happens again down the line. I think there are 5600 that are still cheaper than 12400, so I'll probably go with that if I can confirm the stock. Would there be a way to confirm the BIOS version before I buy the board? I'm not that confident with BIOS updates, don't really want to do it if I can avoid it.
  5. Not US based yeah sorry. I found a 5600G that's about $60 cheaper than the 12400. This new list is around $1000 total. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Hd8hd9 Can't really find a cheaper 32GB set of RAM though, either out of stock or pretty much the same price. Is it safe to assume that similar to the B660, I don't need to worry about BIOS versions for B550 boards?
  6. Hey y'all, after 'bout 3 years, I decided to look at building a new PC. Came up with this list. I'll reuse my NVME SSD and 3.5" HDD so no worries there. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HtMPhk I was initially looking at a ASUS TUF 3060TI for about 500USD, but saw a 6700XT on sale for 400. All this will cost me around 1070USD, converting from local currency. Just wanted to get some inputs if 400USD is a good price for 6700XT these days. Also I remember talks of driver issues on release, I do hope drivers are stable now. Another thing, there are the warnings in PCPartpicker regarding the bios update and the case clearance with the hard drive. How would I know if I need to update the BIOS? Is there a way to check the BIOS version before I buy the motherboard? Looking at the case, there's a 3.5" HDD bay under the PSU shroud, so that shouldn't be an issue.
  7. Fixed the font color. Now while I could do that, there's no guarantee that the stores here will drop prices. I can wait, but I still want to know some info on those cards in case I decide that the 3000 series is not for me.
  8. Finally saved up enough to consider replacing my dead card. For some reason I can't seem to find reviews from my 'trusted' youtube channels so I need some inputs. At the moment I'm considering buying a RTX 2070 Super. Here are the two options that are available for me: Gigabyte RTX 2070S SUPER Gaming OC 3X - More expensive, but I kinda prefer triple fans Zotac RTX 2070S SUPER Twin Fan Thoughts? Any issues that I need to be aware of? I also checked the Power Color RX5700XT Red Devil and it is marginally cheaper than both of those, but I'm still not sure if there's been a consensus that all the driver issues are fixed. Unfortunately the stores here will not accept returns due driver issues so I'm not willing to gamble.
  9. Issue: After a few months of not using it, I decided to clean my PC. After re-assembling it, the case fans were spinning but there was no display. I re-seated the video card and checked the cables. The fans no longer spin, but the led on the motherboard is on. I double checked the cables, tested with a different PSU, but the issue persists. My guess is that my motherboard broke. Questions: I don't have any known good parts (aside from the PSU), is there anything I can test/check? If it really is broken, I will need to replace my CPU, mobo, and RAM. I am using a i5-4590 and shops here no longer sell stuff from that gen. What is the cheapest equivalent (or hopefully a bit better) cpu, mobo, and ram do you suggest? My budget is around 250-270 usd. I might get a 2gb ram stick for now, then add more when I can.
  10. Additional detail: GPU memory Errors increase whenever I start a game. Fired up XCOM and in the main menu it's increasing at around 1-3 errors per second. In the picture above it shows 9.5 billion errors. Valley benchmark did not cause the errors to increase. It does, just at a slower rate.
  11. Issue: When playing games, it will crash to a black screen and will require a force-shutdown the PC just to be responsive again. Alt+Tab, Alt+F4, and Ctrl+Alt+del does not work. Initially I thought this might be an issue related with GPU temps. So I enabled MSI afterburner's OSD and true enough, it reaches up to 90c even at 100% fan speed. I replaced the thermal paste on my GPU (old paste was dried up), but reused the thermal pads because I do not have any replacement on hand (more on this later). I did a few tests and the max temperature it got was around 70c. After playing for a while I still encountered the issue even at less than 60c. I thought maybe reusing the thermal pads caused the VRMs to overheat or something so I connected a monitor to my motherboard and had it display hwinfo while I played. Issue occurred while playing This war of mine and even my second monitor froze. From what my noob eyes see the temperatures seem to be fine. Below are the GPU temps from hwinfo: I'm not sure if this is even an issue with my GPU. Any ideas on what's causing this?
  12. Updated everything, ran Valley Benchmark for 20 mins, Metro Redux benchmark, and Witcher 3, no issues whatsoever. Ran NMS for 5 minutes, issue occurs. Apparently I'm not the only one. I saw some posts on steam back in 2016:Post 1, Post 2. Granted mine was more severe. I saw a comment suggesting to disable steam overlay and another suggesting to set Texture to medium. Did both and ran the game for over an hour. No issues so far. Really hope this is just a bug in the game. Thanks for the suggestions!
  13. I'm running stock settings though.
  14. I'm trying to tweak the settings of No Man's sky and I noticed that there are some artifacting on my screen. These artifacts only show up when I play NMS, and persists even after I quit the game. After restarting the PC, the screen is clear again. What I found odd is that when I open the settings menu in-game (pressing esc), these artifacts become blurred (the white dot in the image), as if they are part of the game. But if I take a screenshot, the artifacts appear. Note that I do not see these in game. I only see the white dots 'behind' the menu. I tried restarting the PC, then running around in Witcher 3 for a few minutes, and the artifacts did not appear. Any ideas?
  15. At the moment I can't think of possible reasons as to why your styles are not being applied. What I suggest you do is Inspect the h5 element to see what style is being used. See screenshot: The style highlighted with yellow is being overridden by the one underlined with red. This might help you pinpoint what the problem is.
  16. According to your post, this is what you used: .test{ color=white; } The "=" should be replaced with ":" otherwise it will not work. Anyway I did not notice that the last example in your post uses the colon.
  17. Use a colon in the css style: color:white; Edit: Move along, reading post again.
  18. R9 390 here. Ultra until the fps gets noticeably choppy. Then I'll lower the settings starting with the ones that are "not noticeable".
  19. I'm planning to buy a new TV for my parents. Thing is, I'm not really interested in TV tech/trends till now so I don't have much idea on what I should look for. My budget is around 500-600 USD (converted from local currency). Any suggestions?
  20. I believe it is better than both SP and AF fans (better static pressure and CFM).
  21. I'm playing witcher 3, ultra with no hairworks, on 8Gbs of RAM no problem. IIRC you can use MSI afterburner to monitor RAM usage.
  22. Thanks ! I'll visit this when I get home.
  23. I'll try PCSX2 thanks for reminding me. Definitely checking out Horizon Zero dawn and Days gone. I don't want to get multiple consoles though so I'll probably wait a bit if the Playstation now improves.
  24. I'm watching a video at 144p. It still stops to load. F*ck you mobile ISP.

  25. Is there ? I might check out the details then. I'm just a bit hyped up with the recent announcements. Dang. And I thought it's plug and play. I might wait till I get a better internet connection.
