Cynical Plum's Achievements

  1. Built a PC recently and decided to go with the 270x. I did a lot of research on the card, and it seemed to be really good for it's price. I loaded up Skyrim (completely vanilla) and was getting 55 FPS average on max settings with occasional drops to 45 FPS and a maximum frame rate of 61. According to some benchmarks I found on Tom's Hardware, the 270x should be getting around anywhere from 70-90 FPS on Skyrim with max settings. I didn't think too much of it but what really worried me was Minecraft's FPS, which was around 60 fps average with a lot of drops to 40 FPS. Is there something wrong with my card? I've downloaded all of the updated AMD drivers. Asus R9 270x Directcu II Top CPU: FX-6300 OS: Windows 10 64bit (upgraded from Windows 8.1)
  2. Is it possible to use the hard drive from my old laptop to boot up Windows 8 on my new PC? And if so, how? I have an Asus motherboard. No idea what to do on the BIOS.

  5. I recently bought a 2GB Asus R9 270x Direct CU II TOP for $230 CAD (it's still in the box), and I've been wondering if a 3GB Sapphire R9 280 Dual-X OC ($210) would've been more worth it.
  6. Six-core, AM3+, 3.5GHz, 8Mb cache Is there a much better CPU I could get for around the same price? ($140 CAD)
