Giving someone requested advice that is based on personal experience and an educated opinion is not snobbery. Especially considering most people are not recommending he spend more money on unnecessary gear.

Holy crap audio people are such snobs, audio it's half truths half personal taste get your head phones, get a sound card and get a dac, and have a listen, keep whatever you like best, returning an item is not a big deal. At the end of the day it's you the one who will be listening to your equipment.
I have a sound card at the moment, using the V-moda M100 and a cheap ass sound card with headphone amp that I've had for years, it's better than my onboard, it's also louder. I've borrowed my friends portable Fiio amp/dac and there is definitely a difference, my sound card colours the sound somewhat, it's not a matter of bottlenecks or best, it's about whether or not it's loud enough and personal taste. I like the sound i got from that relative cheap fiio e7; however, my sound card creative sound blaster something is not that far behind, and it's way better than my onboard. Personally i dont see the value in spending ~$250 on a dac/amp, but i can see myself replacing my sound card a few months down the line for a good value dac ~$100 ish. so just have a listen and see if you like what you hear.

Make a USB with either Ubuntu or Hirens (Any Linux distro really) I've just used Ubuntu those few times I've been in the same situation. But I don't think you'll see any big differences on picking a specific Linux distro, over another.

I'm gonna go ahead and say no.
You need a 4k monitor to view the footage that you record.
There's really no point in recording a higher res vid when you can't watch it.
There are ways to upscale, but it's not worth it. You might even see a loss in quality.

That would be the feeling I had as well. Which is why G-sync is kind of a "soft" reason for me to go Nvidia this time, but Shadowplay is the "real" reason
 
 
 
Precisely. So I guess the distinction between them in the future will be:
 
AMD: Potentially better frame rates
Nvidia: Better end user experience (but higher investment cost)

My first build taught me to save up more money.

I learned not to shit your pants in fear when putting the cpu in the socket. It's really not that scary.

So what i have learned and wont do in the future
 
 - buying at release (gpu)
   that 770 was to expensive now that i look back at it even though nvidia has some nice features,going back in time i would probably have bought either a 760 or a 7950 bc i only      play cs:go (which i didnt expect when i first thought off pc gaming)
 
 - Watercoolng and overclocking
   In the end i didnt even bother overclocking i would have been better off with a 4770
 
 - not getting a ssd
   T.T I dont think ill have to explain this one

To be honest? I'd scrap the whole thing. PSU I would say go out the window, don't use Biostar motherboards, the processor is far too old and the graphics card is a turd for gaming.

like how shadowplay is supposed to releave the cpu? well i guess it sounds cool if devs would take advantage of this then i hope that they make so nvidia owners can run it of their cpu
