Your welcome Ankit -- best of luck to you in your quest to find the issue.  Also -- if you want -- check to see if Windows installed any updates overnight.  It could be possible that its one update that is causing your issue (doubtful, but worth a check).  If one update did get installed, remove it -- and try gaming again.

Taking your entire system out of the case is not fun -- well its fun for me -- but its likely required to find that issue.

Yeah your PSU could be the issue -- but seems doubtful as you played last night no issues.

This is a hard issue to pin down -- especially over the interwebs.

If the GPU has a requirement for 2x 8 PINS then you need to fill those.

Your PSU should have several GPU/PCIE connectors -- some are 8 PIN others are 6 + 2 PIN.  Either of those are fine -- just make sure when you plug in the 6 + 2 that you are using all the connectors/PINS.  You'll need them all for the required power.

If you only have one 6+2 or 8 PIN -- then you'll need to get a Molex or SATA power to 8 PIN adapter.

newfieboy1983 got a reaction from Danny Proud in Low performance on GTX 650
Danny -- your system is a bit on the old side, so your not going to get wonderful performance out of that machine running anything except some basic ESPORTS titles.  But as the folks above have said -- basic PC cleaning and maintenance is key to getting what you have working at its peak.  Lets start at the basics.

    The Windows OS
    - Use a program like CCleaner to remove old programs, and anything else you don't need
    - Look at reducing any "startup" programs that are likely running in the background eating up memory ( https://kb.iu.edu/d/adlf )
    - Only remove programs from startup that you are fully aware of as removal of some driver related programs can reduce your performance
    - Increase your PAGE file ( https://goo.gl/gLtEZo )
    - Update your motherboard and GPU drivers (as stated above)
    - When running games on 4GB of RAM, make sure you close as many open programs as possible before starting -- like Chrome, EDGE, Firefox, etc...

    The Hardware
    - Clean out your PC of any dust or debris that might be hanging around
    - A $3 tube of thermal paste -- and about 30 mins to re-apply some to your CPU/Heatsink -- if its not been done since the original paste has been put on the Q8400 it might be time (cannot hurt)
    - Here is a LTT video about thermal paste

A fresh copy of Windows might not be a bad idea either -- depending on how long your current version has been installed (or what version it is -- W10, W8, W7, W-XP)

    Best of luck young Padawan.

A fresh Windows is a decent start -- as for the cabling -- it depends on how desperate you are to get stuff working.  Some troubleshooting can take hours or days just to find a small issue(s) that may have been overlooked.

If after your Windows Install if your still having the same issues -- I'd still take it all out and follow my steps above.

Personally I think something is going on with your install inside the case.  Since the only net new items are the case and PSU -- I'm betting it could be something related to that.  Like a grounding issue near the standoffs -- CPU / RAM needs a re-seat.  I mean those Windows Updates could be problematic as well, but its very unusual for them to cause such a drastic crash only when the CPU/GPU/RAM is being pushed during your gaming.

I'm going on the assumption its something to do with the hardware -- and not software related at the point.  Try the following.

Take all your components out and put the PC together outside the case.  Play your games and see what happens.  If we continue to get reboots then -- try a fresh install of Windows.  If you continue to get reboots, then its 100% hardware.

First try a simple CMOS reset, and get your BIOS and settings back to default.

After the CMOS/BIOS I'd go with a re-seat of the RAM and CPU (you could do this after you take your PC out of the case if you wish -- before going with a fresh Windows install)

If your still getting reboots -- try one RAM stick at a time and see if your still getting the reboots mid-game.

    Good luck -- Newf

Yeah thats a pretty decent price.  As stated above the MSRP is around $300 or so -- but with inflated prices and such, it's quite good.

As a long time builder (20+ years), your build is not too bad.  I think you are going in the right direction.  Here are a few tips that I would give you.

Whenever you are picking a motherboard, make sure to check the "Memory QVC" -- this is a list of supported memory with that particular motherboard.  In most cases, compatible RAM should work -- but it don't hurt to look through this list and find memory that is "guaranteed" (nothing is fully guaranteed to work) to be compatible.

Second -- plan out your future upgrades and try to future proof yourself for the next few years if at all possible.  Consider a motherboard and socket selection that may be compatible for 2-3-4 years -- so when you want to upgrade its as simple as swapping in a new CPU and perhaps upgrading an older GPU.  AMD is not a bad choice in this market, as they are committed to the AM4 socket for the next few years.

As for the PSU -- not all PSU's are created equally.  The more efficient a PSU (Titanium, Platinum, Gold....) the more expensive and it generally is.  It simply means that it makes more efficient use of the power, and can save you some money in the long run.  Modular is not a bad idea to go as well with PSU's (if the price is comparable) -- as they can provided you with some more flexibility in running cables through your case and keeping your build clean and more air efficient.

A case is a bit of a personal choice in this -- as long as you get one that meets your needs for now and the near future.  You are building a entry level rig, and as such I would go (personal choice) an entry level case that is both easy to build in -- and can fit the largest video cards in the market should you decide to go that route later.  I've had good luck with the Cooler Master N200 -- as its cost effective and easy to build in.  Plus -- if you go with that modular PSU, it'll look clean and tidy.

Some folks have suggested going with a slightly smaller SSD and adding a regular spin hard drive for storage.  This is a great idea, and gives you a ton of flexibility.  Considering your budget, I'd go with a 256 GB SSD from any of the major players -- along with a 2-4 TB spin hard drive, depending on price and budget.  This way you put your OS on the SSD, along with a few choice games or applications -- then put the rest on your bigger spin hard drive.  You can always migrate your games from your spin hard drive over to your SSD if/when necessary.

CPU choice is pretty good -- but as other have stated the newer Ryzen 5 2400G is a better choice.  This is for a few reasons.  First, you get pretty much the same performance -- plus you get an integrated Vega Graphics in that APU/CPU choice.  This gives you a few more options when setting up your machine, and if your external GPU ever dies or you decided to upgrade.  You have an option to use the integrated APU/CPU Vega Graphics while you do this.  For the few extra bucks -- I'd go that route.

Lastly -- I've done a build for you -- using some of my part choices and picking compatible RAM using the QVC.
