Not much more than £900. Already have a PSU, Windows and one storage drive already. Will need a wireless KB/M, CPU, Mobo, RAM and a boot drive. Will also need a case.

Handbrake and XBMC or Kodi as its called now. I'm reaching Handbrakes GPU hardware accelaration now and it doesn't seem to benifet all that well from it so I'm learning more towards a higher end CPU. I do have some leeway with the budget as I already own a good PSU thats knocking about doing nothing as well as a spare copy of Windows.

I'm not looking to game on this machine at all. I want the very best for the encoding process as well being able to stream it around my house. One thing to add, this coming Black Friday or whatever they have here in the UK I'll be looking to grab a 4K TV so I'll need HDMI 2.0.

I've been given a tax rebate from the Queen to the tune of £750 so I'm looking at building a dedicated home threatre server / video encoding machine. I have lots of anime, movies and TV shows that are all in 1080p+ MKV format but since I'm a trucker I spent a lot of time on the road with my iPad. Thanks to Apple just being Apple I have to encode everything I want to put on my iPad in MP4 format and 720p to save on space which takes forever on my Macbook using Handbrake. I want this to be a HTPC as well as a video encoding machine so I'm currently trying to weigh up the pro's and cons of having say a i7 6700K with say a GT950 or an i3 with a cheap 980.

Its doing something now, says its Updating the BIOS. Finally. This board has been nothing but problems, hell this whole build has been nothing but problems. Windows is flaky no matter how many times I reinstall it, the rattling fans on the H110GTi, my first case arriving broken.

I used the feature in AI3. I completely forgot about that, its been a long week. I'll have to wait till its done updating. Should be done by Sunday at this rate.

I needed it to update the BIOS. Can't use the BIOS itself for anything at present. Its only just half way through and its been well over an hour now. Something is not right here. It started to act up again tonight when I connected my 3rd go pro camera to offload some footage, the camera was being detected but wouldn't transfer the footage so I restarted the machine, now it takes forever to boot and the BIOS is unusable.

What I meant was, if I installed a program, say AI Suite 3, the system upon restart would take forever to boot. I don't know its corrupted but you can't actually do anything in it. It just hangs, mouse doesn't move, none of the temp, voltage or fan speed readouts move or adjust like they should do.

Been having problems with my X99 Sabertooth, no OC or anything but if you install a program that it doesn't like then it hangs on reboot for up to an hour. The BIOS is completely unusable when you do finally get in, once it boots into Windows though, its fine. I'm trying to install a new BIOS update to see if that will cure it but thats taking so far about 3 hours and its not even half way done. Its driving me mad, I bought this board expecting quality from Asus but its been nothing but problems from the start. I've tried pulling parts out and trying things one at a time but it still does it. I'm thinking its time for a new board. My system is X99 Sabertooth, 5930K, 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD for boot drive and dual 980Tis.

My board is borked, having problems with the USB's on the rear I/O. I've got the cash so why not?

I'm in the process of building my uncle a new PC that is good enough to handle moderate Blender work along with some GoPro editing and maybe some light gaming. Whilst doing this, I thought why not upgrade myself! I'll be jumping from a 2600K and a 780Ti. I'll be doing a lot of gaming, modern titles with all the bells and whistles etc and also some light GoPro editing. Here is the shopping list, sorry its not in order of which parts are for who. My uncle already has a KB/M, speakers and headset. Any and all advice is welcome! Edit! My uncles PC is the 1151 with the 960 and mine is the X99 with the two 980ti's!
