  1. Adding to this necro-thread. Does anyone know if, in current days, the Upmixer is actually working (instead of 7.1)? I just tried running Yakuza 0 on PC (Win11) and my Q990B soundbar doesn't not show Atmos (as it does when I play native Atmos games on XSX), which I thought it would show as it'd be up-scaling, thus delivering MAT? It does sound more "surround-y" but not sure if it's actually doing much?
  2. I've got a G34WQC monitor (3440x1440 144hz) connected to my Zephyrus G15 2021. I firstly bought this cable uni USB C to DisplayPort Cable 1.8m(4K@60Hz, 2K@165Hz) Thunderbolt 3/4 to Display Port Cable which shows in the description it's DP 1.2 and noticed a couple of times that it was running in Limited - YCbCr - 100hz. But a reboot it went back to Full - RGB - 144hz. This only happened a couple of times but it made me need to check it every so often, so I thought I had a bad cable and decided to get a certified 1.4 DP one. So, I bought this one: USB C to DisplayPort Cable 8K@60Hz Maxonar 4K@60Hz/144Hz/120Hz 5K@60Hz 2K@240Hz Thunderbolt 3 to DisplayPort Cable HBR3 DP 1.4 Adapter Upon connecting this one, I instantly get a removable device called Bilboard and it popup notification shows DP connection is limited. Does this mean faulty cable or is there something weird going on with the laptop itself? I found it weird as this cable is supposed to carry more "bandwidth" than the other one? Anyone experienced similar? Or has any ideas? I also have a second question. I'm running Windows 11, fresh install, everything's working correctly. But I noticed that when I have a full screen youtube video on the laptop screen (doesn't matter the quality) that on the main external one, scrolling, dragging windows, minimizing and maximizing become really jaggy and stuttery. If I stop playback it goes back to buttery smooth. Now, as I've said above, my external screen is 144hz, the internal is 165hz but I'd assume that a laptop this powerful (external plugged straight to 3080 through DP) would be able to handle this very easily. My £450 Honor Magicbook Pro (4600H CPU) handles this perfectly, though the internal display is 60hz, not sure if that's the problem here! Any ideas on this as well? Many thanks!
  3. Hi everyone, So I bought a used Strix 1080Ti which was displaying weird artifacts at some point but it turned out the card was indeed faulty as it couldn't even finish any single benchmark run without driver crashing at stock settings. Got a refund for that and went for an EVGA FTW3 1080Ti and even though it's performing beautifully right now sometimes I do see crap like this when logging into Windows. https://youtu.be/oXVKuAajB-0 Does anyone know why this would happen? It doesn't happen after that but it's pretty weird, temps are fine, everything is fine and performing perfectly... My rig is: AMD Ryzen 2600x - PE LVL2, PBO Enabled 16GB DDR4 @ 3600mhz CL14 ASUS B450i EVGA G3 650w
  4. Does anyone know what is the absolute maximum height that will fit in an h200? Wouldn't something like an aorus xtreme (60mm) fit? Even if it's touching the PSU shroud or something is put in between the gfx card and PSU shroud like a small object?
  5. Hi all, I'm aware the G3 was downgraded in the tier list due to a couple of failures but it's the one I have and have been using for half a year. I'm upgrading from a 1070 to 1080 Ti and would like to know if this PSU will suffice? I'm running basically PE LVL 2 and PBO enabled, Ram is running at 3600 @1.45V C14 .
  6. Hi everyone, Apologies for intruding but I have a quick question. I own an EVGA G3 650W and would a Ryzen 2600x + 16GB DDR4 @ 3600mhz tight timings + GTX 1080Ti be OK? Any PSU experts here would likely know if a PSU not being enough causing something like this? ->
  7. Hi everyone,So I had a GTX 1070 Strix OC and decided to buy a second hand exact same model but a GTX 1080 Ti. I did the whole classic procedure of uninstalling the drivers beforehand, DDU'ing, shut down then after installing the 1080 Ti, doing a fresh install. My problem is, Fire Strike benchmark doesn't even finish, it's "cancelled by user" , I only ever seen this happen when my OC was too high on my 1070. In this case, I'm running fully stock. I've tried both 430.86 and 431.36 (latest) and no good, it just doesn't finish a run. I've tried debug mode which then it managed to finish a Fire Strike run normally. But as soon as I turn it off same issue occurs. It also crashes Superposition, not a hard crash but much like FireStrike, it just shows that the display driver crashed (message from the benchmark itself)Does this mean it's a dud? Could the power supply be at fault here? It's not even 6 months old. Should I seek a refund in this case? I never had any such occurrence out of the box all stock... My Spec list is: Amd Ryzen 2600x Asus B450i 16GB @ 3600mhz tight timings EVGA G3 650WThanks
  8. I'm in the UK. Reason being that the Wraith isn't particularly excellent in this case for my 2600x. And to maintsi the decent temps and xfr boost I needed to edit the fan curve in the bios to be quite aggressive and it's well, a bit too loud for me. That's why I'm seeking a better alternative.
  9. Thanks for the reply. Would the Dark Rock 4 perform well also? As I'd be more inclined to that as the Pro is probably to gigantic and may pose a risk on fitting on ram slots. Would it also be possible to install it without removing the motherboard? Don't really feel like disassembling the entire build :x
  10. Hi everyone, I'm looking for a CPU Cooler for my Ryzen 2600x on an NZXT H200. I'm running the default Wraith Spire at the moment but unhappy with its performance in this case, it works well under load but it's incredibly noisy. I've replaced all case fans with 2x 120mm Pure Wings 2 and 2x 140mm Pure wings 2. I'm just looking to replace the heatsink now. What would be the absolute "best" one could get for this case? Noctua NH D15S? I'm not too worried about aesthetics but the D15S is definitely a bit on the expensive side.
  11. Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. I honestly don't care for RGB haha You know what I may actually go ATX I've found VERY small cases actually, almost identical to my Corsair Air 240. My issue is space hence me wanting to keep either my case or go full on to an ITX. But from today's offerings it does seem way more viable from what I gathered: Reference: Corsair Carbide Air 240 - Dimensions (H x W x D): 320 x 260 x 397 mm - 5.6KG ATX: Jonsbo U4 - Dimensions (H x W x D): 428 x 205 x 340 mm - 4.8KG Jonsbo RM2S - Dimensions (H x W x D): 354 x 209 x 302 mm - 2.6KG Jonsbo RM3 - Dimensions (H x W x D): 385 x 215 x 336 mm Raijintek Thetis - Dimensions (H x W x D): 366 x 210 x 360 mm ITX: Jonsbo U1 Plus - Dimensions (H x W x D): 320 x 170 x 220 mm - 2.7KG Jonsbo U2 - Dimensions (H x W x D): 331 x 208 x 233 mm - 2KG Jonsbo UMX1 Plus - Dimensions (H x W x D): 345 x 160 x 300 mm - 3.2KG
  12. That one does look pretty good, my main caveat with all AM4s mATX mobos is using Realtek for networking, always had better results with Intel but I don't know how they fare these days. That'd be great! Cheers mate
  13. Thanks everyone. Yeah I'm gonna wait a bit for the Strix x370-i just for curiosity sake, do you guys know when it comes out?
  14. Hey everyone, So, I have a Corsair Air 240 which supports both mATX and ITX. I've been looking to build a Ryzen 5 1600 system and from my research it seems that mATX has yet to receive any proper love? It seems most motherboards are low and midrange? Though ITX seems to be a bit better, which I find extremely odd. Anyway, I don't care if I go mATX or ITX, I found the new Asus x370 ROG ITX intriguing. Would you anyone recommend an mATX motherboard or should I wait for the new Asus ITX ones? Cheers
  15. Crystaldiskinfo states health is Good like all my other drives. Could very well be the SATA port. I will do that, cheers!
  16. Hi guys, I've been having this issue for about 2 weeks now. My SSD 850 Evo (secondary SSD) sometimes isn't recognized by Win10. It happens when I first boot it up it doesn't show on the list of HDDs inside Windows, if I do a restart same thing BUT if I shut down the PC altogether and turn it back on it gets picked up and after that if I select "optimization" it shows it needs optimization. The SSD itself is 1 year old or something, everything is fully plugged in etc, nothing on my PC has changed for a full year and this has been happening for the last 2-3 weeks. What could be causing this? Could the drive be dying?
  17. Interesting. I guess it's due to your i7 being able to handle a beating much more than an i5. No idea GM204s didn't have 10b hardware support, wow that's pretty rough, guess that explains the shift into CPU when playing those.
  18. The jellyfish one, even on an SSD is very very choppy. Straight up uses all of CPU. Download the last one in the list, 400MBPS, 10bit HVEC I just checked a H264 1080P video and it's using my cards Video engine by about 30-40%. With the Jellyfish, even the 160MBPS version is using only 20%, as well as the 400MBPS. It's basically shifting to the CPU, I don't really get why...
  19. It's in a mechanical yes, will try moving to the SSD. http://jell.yfish.us/ http://hdrsamples.com/exodus-4k-uhd-hdr-sample-footage/ http://bbb3d.renderfarming.net/download.html
  20. Yes, 400MBPS, 10bit. Still, wouldn't it be possible to play those with this rig?
  21. Hey everyone, I'm using KCP ( http://haruhichan.com/forum/showthread.php?7545-KCP-Kawaii-Codec-Pack ) with the settings to Highest Tier. It plays all 1080P H264 movies perfectly, I decided to download a few 4K video tests, I think it was from 4ksamples.com and some from other places and to my surprise it plays choppy as hell, the CPU instantly goes up to 55C (from 28C), shouldn't MadVR be using the GPU for rendering this? My specs should be more than enough to handle 4K video right? i5 4690K 16GB ram GTX970 Videos I used to test: http://i.imgur.com/CfEShlv.png Only BBB Sunflower 60FPS worked 100% smoothly. Could anyone shed some light? Thanks
