Timmahnz's Achievements

  1. I paid $1100 NZD for my 1080Ti as the mining boom started.. I'm likely to pay near $2000NZD for a 4070Ti Super as it's replacement. Suffice to say.. Consumers have decided that these prices are acceptable, as well as demand for their AI capabilities are dictating prices. Add that in today's economic climate and Nvidia's clever marketing, we are not going to see prices pre-covid, pre-mining or price wars for a long long time, if ever.
  2. Fire up HWmonitor or similar and see what the GPU utilization is, I bet you're GPU bound now. Our 1080ti's are old in the tooth now.
  3. @LinusTech @AlexTheGreatish what are the chances of a follow up video?
  4. I have a Synology NAS at home, here is my 2 cents: 1.Synology's DSM Operating System gets a few updates a year, user accounts support 2FA, LDAP integration (never tried it) and enforcing strong passwords 2.Synology has NAS's for all markets from what I see. My old work place had two Synology NAS's for backup work. 3. Yes, yes you can. I have the DSFile app on my iPhone that backs up photos. There is a OneNote/Ever note app called DS note that i use to store notes. Do no expose said NAS directly to the internet, have a VPN or proxy in between . Better safe than sorry.
  5. Two HomePod minis in stereo plus a sub (via an AirPort extreme) do make for good movie experience. You really need the sub as the mini's lack and low end bass.
  6. I have a Dell XPS 13" with the 6200U, the G14 with the lower specced Ryzen 7, 16GB RAM with 2060 would be my upgrade.. but being in NZ, I'd imagine the starting price will be arouond $3K NZD ( 1766 USD ) which is too much.
  7. 5Ge = 4G LTE plus some improvements. Probably using the same tech in Aus that can achieve 1Gpbs. Sprint is arguing that AT&T are using existing 4G LTE equipment plus some tweaks or hardware upgrading and calling it 5Ge when it's not "true" 5G https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/att-introduces-5ge/
  8. Here's a pic of my Fiio E10K Great wee DAC. I use it to power my V-Modas.
  9. Me too! I thoroughly enjoy the first one
  10. I use Avast and nothing happened.
  11. Few hours of playing with this driver, definitely got a boost, game feels smoother. However this driver has tanked my BF:4 performance Oh well, it's only a BETA.
  12. Source + Download links: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx About to install now, hopefully I see some improvements in Fallout 4 when in cities.
  13. Just bought the game and I've just left the vault, so far, the frame rate is a bit all over the show, but I hope this is something an AMD driver update will resolve. Rig is in my sig and my Fallout 4 settings are: Resolution: 1440p Antialaising: FXAA Texture quality: Ultra Shadow quality: Medium Shadow distance: High Lighting quality: High Godrays Quality: Low Depth of Field: Standard (low) Ambient Occlution: SSAO (High) Screen Space Reflections: Ticked Wetness: Ticked Rain Occlusion: Unticked Motion Blur: Unticked Lens falre: Unticked. I haven't touched any of the view distance stuff.
