Remember, most wagons died not because crossovers took over, but because most idiot car enthusiasts screeching for wagons ended up in a shitty car anyways. I was in no position to buy a Regal TourX, but a decent amount of people who went out and bought an STI instead of a TourX scoffed at a Buick wagon, and where did that lead us? The only wagons on sale being compact wagons, Volvos and thinly-veiled crossover alternatives from Subaru.
So thank you, dumb ass megaphone car enthusiasts for killing the wagon segment.

And for reference, I own a wagon myself and anticipate to move to another wagon soon enough.

yeah though, it really sucks that people pretended to be interested in the TourX but then didn't buy it.

Like you dipshits, if you want to see more wagons. Buy them.

Wagons are good to sleep in, get the VW TDI wagon as its great on gas!

yeah about that @greenmax, Volkswagen is kinda responsible for the regression of diesels in personal cars outside of pick up trucks.

But frankly even with AdBlue/DEF I've read and heard there still pretty bad stuff Diesel puts out that Gasoline just doesn't.

Idk if I'd want a Golf Wagon ever lol, I really like the TourX. Which over in Europe, it's the Opel/Vauxhaul Insignia Estate Tourer.

However, it would've been really cool if Ford would've put in some kind of diesel in the USDM Ford Transit

    Golf is too small.

Europe does diesels everywhere, must be a reason.

I don't exactly know why they make diesel cheaper in Europe lol

but it's price largely, and fuel density I believe.

It's partly automakers faults as well. Marketing places a huge part of car sales. For this specific model, why stick it under Buick? Buick has an already bad brand image, mostly seen as cars for elderly people. It's also huge, and not particularly sporty....the latter, which most car enthusiasts wouldn't be too interested in. An enthusiast is more likely to go for something like a WRX, Volvo V60 Polestar, BMW 3 Series, Audi Allroad, or if they're well off, a Mercedes E63. The available options of the Buick are also a little on the light side.

On the plus side, since no one seems to want them, they're cheap on the used market ?

@greenmax You only use ~7 cubic feet of cargo space between the two.

@pinksnowbirdie I wish diesel was more prevalent in NA, the engines usually last forever. Though, they take far too long to warm up in cold weather, so I'd never own one here.

the tourX should've been sold as a Chevrolet, not a Buick IMO. And it looks like GM tried too hard to compete with the Subaru Outback, I'd still prefer the STI because of the better interior, and the tons of aftermarket mods you can do with Subaru's.

Sadly the only other options are a BMW,Audi, or Volvo. And lol no,no one wants those used because European cars quickly get more expensive than they're worth to repair and maintain.

@Blademaster91 To be fair, most European cars are costly to repair of you go to the dealer. If you go outside the network, or work on them yourself, they're really not that bad, as long as you keep up on the maintenance they require. Most people out of warranty simply don't, and that's why they become money pits. Volvo is also pretty reliable, so they shouldn't be lumped into the same group.

I wouldn't expect someone that just wants an A to B car to go outside the dealer, though yeah if you're an enthusiast used is usually a good deal.

Maybe i'm too harsh on Volvo, older models are pretty solid, those 5 cyls. sound great and the seats are some of most comfortable for long trips, no idea about anything newer though and I question their reliability because the newer engines have both a turbo and supercharger.

I wouldn't expect someone that wants an A to B car to buy something from BMW or Audi outside of the warranty period ?‍♂️

Just goes back to the fact that most people that buy European vehicles can't actually afford them and the maintenance they require.

There's only two models of Volvo that has both the turbo and supercharger, the T6 and T8 iirc. The rest are still standard engines. I'd be a little worried as well, but they seem to be doing fine so far.
