yeah, it does, but also 1360x768, and 1280x768...

    I'm suspecting that your TV:

    1. Doesn't like 720p signals being sent through a VGA output, at least concerning that PC. It could be outputting something that it's not expecting for VGA for whatever reason.
    2. Your TV taps out at 1360x768. Most 720p TVs don't have a native resolution of 1280x720. Many of them actually top out at 1360x768 or 1366x768, while some older TVs top out at 1024x768.

If it's not bothersome and 1360x768 happens to work, just use that.

3:2 is actually not even one of the options PC PartPicker has for aspect ratio.

It's still possible to buy some 16:10 monitors. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QGK2LDR I think that's as close as you're going to get, OP.

I'm more or less at that 16:10 point - Dell 3008WFP represent. My main reason for making this thread was to see if I could go farther than 16:10 without going to 4:3.

Another area thing.  On the east coast volvos have a totally different market than they do in my state.  Where I live volvo drivers are generally geriatric Scandinavians.  Volvo did some rear wheel drive cars that were exceptionally good on snow for a rear wheel drive car.  There was a period in the 80’s and 90’s where if you wanted to drive a rear wheel drive vehicle on snow volvo was the preferred option.  They’re Indian now though.

Volvo drivers where I live are owned by people who:

    • think they're white enough to ignore every traffic law in the state
    • hate their race more than their family

If ya can't tell, I'm a bit annoyed today. Dunno why, but I am.

The whole bmw driver phenomena was a stereotype. Such things change by time and area.  Currently in my area the drivers to watch out for are well polished 4wheel drive truck with bed covers.

It's a stereotype that rings true.

P.S. Volvo drivers can also go fuck themselves. Your car being safe doesn't excuse you from using turn signals.

Every car company made a terrific car at one time or another that put them on the map.  Generally it’s something pretty early. The one that bmw made its bones in the US with was the 2002 (which happened long before 2002).  With Ford it was the modelT, and for Chrysler it was something in the 1930’s?  I forget the body style of that was so iconic it actually got used as the standard shell for at least one type of racing that is still being used.  I recall it was a boxy design with 3 side louvera in the wrap around hood.

Yeah, but I'm also sick and fucking tired of people bitching about literally everything BMW has done for the past 50 years. All I can take out of it is that BMW fucking sucks and their fans are insufferably picky.

It was pretty damn fun lol

sonic is kinda cheap with their sauce cups lmao but their burgers are something to reckon with but I was feeling more up for chicken today lol

I wanted a burger but I wasn't trying to eat a bacon double cheeseburger in my car today. Maybe that'll be for another time - if we end up in Nashville, anyway.

BMW attracts a certain type of driver as well. They start with an A and end with a hole.

BMW drivers are fucking dickheads, no qualms about it. I'm not afraid to say it.

To add to it, most hot hatchback owners are completely fucking insufferable. They're the same BMW driver-type but they can't be seen in something as p O s H as a used 2006 BMW 328i. Like yes, I get it, your hairdryer-sounding 4-cylinder makes more power than a V6 Skyline did in 2003. Welcome to 15 years of technological advancement from your "Used from the Factory" 2018 Subaru WRX STI.

The point is that 300 miles while it sounds like a long distance when your going from point A to point B, is not that long if you are traveling twisty windy roads to every nook and cranny in a town which a mail truck does.
My own neighborhood/block is a giant loop, Ive found biking around it, it is ~1 mile. If you bike down all the culdesacs, its ~2 miles. If you take the "Mail Truck Route" you end up traveling 3 miles. - Why? Cause you gotta go through the loop twice, to deliver to the people on both sides of the road.

The mileage adds up a lot faster then you initially think. Apparently the highest mileage mail truck got 402,000 miles in ~10 years?
That said... Apparently the longest mail route according to some quick googling is ~187 miles, and is not ideal highway road.

For anyone who can't contextualize how much driving delivery trucks do in a day, I notice that datasheets for the trucks at my FedEx facility will go from anywhere from 50-120 miles in a day, at least typically. Some go into Tennessee, which definitely adds to the higher end of that portion. Highway or even regular street driving doesn't kill fuel economy (or electric mileage) nearly as badly as constantly stopping and going every... 50-200 feet? Which is definitely something a USPS postal truck is doing comparatively to even a FedEx or UPS delivery van.

Having to constantly dig into the torque range versus being able to consistently (or even somewhat consistently) ride at a steady pace murders any gains in range and overall efficiency. 300 miles is 300 miles, but 300 miles means nothing without context in how a car is driven.

  9. This is a real shot in the fucking dark, but I digress. Are there any 3:2 aspect ratio monitors out there that aren't bespoke tiny ass displays meant for car seats or intended for, say, a laptop or something? It's always something that's perplexed me - and it's something that I'd know nothing about trying to search for, but it's more or less the ideal aspect ratio for my needs, so long as a standalone monitor in that ratio actually exists.

I'm not really trying to ballpark a budget, size or resolution (well, so long as it's rationally sized like a normal monitor), I'm mainly just window shopping here... although at the right price, I wouldn't mind springing for one.

We were going to Anthro New England and needed something to eat, and there just so happened to be a Dunks behind us. I can't actually eat anything there tho so I just got a soda.

This was before Dunks started offering oatmilk as creamer nationwide, so I couldn't have the coffee either. In retrospect it probably woulda made me more alert while at the con lmao

Yeah, off the top of my head I can name what me and Bren have had to eat in terms of eating out this weekend:

    • Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers
    • Red Robin
    • Outback Steakhouse
    • Sonic

When the worst thing you've had so far was Outback, you're doing pretty good. In retrospect, I'm sad that it's taken me this long to even go back to Red Robin.
