Went game hunting today.  My physical copy of Va-11 Hall-A on PS4 finally showed up, so now I have a physical copy on all systems that got one.

I'm not the biggest on 80s cars (and anyone who knows me can say the same thing), but that GN is fucking fresh.

My daily is a 2016 Honda HR-V EX-L AWD in Milano Red. It's got over 150,000 miles on it, but I've only put about 1,000 of those on there. I picked it up dirt cheap thanks to those miles. Next cheapest HR-V or even Civic that new I could find locally was nearly $5,000 more. Interior is like new minus a small nick above the radio. Exterior looks great at 10-15 feet. Up close, you see all the rock chips and scratches but for 150,000 miles it ain't bad. I did a load of preventative maintenance right after buying it so it runs and drives like new.

My other car is a 1996 Honda Civic CX Hatchback in Midori Green Pearl with a B16A2 engine swap from a 99 Civic Si in it. I've had it for over 14 years. It's got 206,000 miles on the body and somewhere around 150,000 on the motor. Transmission? Who knows? It's from a Japanese Civic SiR so it's low-ish at least. There's a big ol' list of mods but I'm not gonna list them right now. It doesn't get driven much due to it needing a bit of work (timing belt) that I'm putting off till after I have foot surgery. Plus the clutch pedal hurts my foot right now (it being a race clutch makes it even worse). It sure is a load of fun though. I want to drive it SOOOO bad but it's probably gonna sit for at least 8-10 more weeks.

I just sold my old daily today which was a 2007 Honda Fit Sport in Nighthawk Black Pearl with 196,000 miles. I'm going to miss that car, but now a friend of mine who needed a car has himself something much more efficient and reliable than his old Blazer.

Day 4 was fun! Somehow, I was impressed by Denny's more than I was impressed by Outback. Wahlburgers was also pretty good, if not a bit spendy.

    yes
Today was fun as hell, and yeah Wahlburger was spendy lmao
but I think it’s not horribly unreasonable since the burgers are pretty good fwiw
I mean I don’t have high expectations for something that tries and tie itself to an actor lol
but it meets the expectations you’d need it to.

Yeah, off the top of my head I can name what me and Bren have had to eat in terms of eating out this weekend:
Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers Red Robin Outback Steakhouse Sonic When the worst thing you've had so far was Outback, you're doing pretty good. In retrospect, I'm sad that it's taken me this long to even go back to Red Robin.

Nothing says "fancy date" like eating Sonic in a Kohl's parking lot in a Saturn wagon.
Then again, it's perfect for the both of us.

...eh? Maybe? Could be argued that you have a little more of a tomboy-ish appearance rather than crossdressing entirely.

Yeah, I guess ultimately I've never had a reason to question if I felt that I wasn't male - even if I like crossdressing. 🤷‍♂️

I made a bad mistake today.

If that doesn't give it away, I bought a Wacom Intuos drawing tablet today. I also found some retail Betamax tapes!

PlayStation 2 reacted to PCGuy_5960 in Different sensitivity skills easily transferable?
A lot of people in the aim training community think muscle memory isn't that important and the more you practice the better you get at controlling different sensitivities. I think there's some truth to that, but I believe the best for consistency is to find a good middle ground sens for the games you play and stick with it for a while. I doubt it's very good for consistency to constantly switch between 20 and 70cm/360 for example.

PlayStation 2 reacted to Eigenvektor in Why are so many numbers in this field multiples of 8?
Not quite correct. Historically a byte was defined as the number of bits used to encode a single character and/or the smallest addressable unit of memory. These days that is typically 8 bit, but other sizes exist(ed) (e.g. 6-bit byte or 9-bit byte).

ASCII actually only uses 7 bits (128 characters). On e.g. MS-DOS you had 8 bits and the additional characters this enables where used for a code page that contained additional (language specific) characters, but they are not part of the original ASCII standard.

These days we have Unicode (e.g. UTF-8) that retains backwards compatibility with ASCII while also being able to encode additional characters using variable-width character encoding.

PlayStation 2 reacted to WkdPaul in Is a Internet term for this?
Non-indexed web is pretty much what the deep web is.

You'll randomly find links to part of the deep web, but basically, the deep web is stuff that accessible from a browser or an application, but isn't indexed by the big search engines.

It really can be anything, from personal websites hosted at home, to illegal stuff. If it's invisible to search engines, then it's the deep web.

The dark web is hosted on different layers of the web, meaning you need specific software to access is, the TOR network with it's onion websites is the most known exemple.

PlayStation 2 reacted to SansVarnic in Why are these live anime voice actors using augmented reality think that yelling racial slurs is funny?
    -= Topic Locked =-

I am just going to pre-emptively lock this topic for very obvious reasons.

It is clear using racial slurs is not good, BUUUUT context makes a significant difference.
Culture plays a massive role in slurs; What I say or do where I live can and will mean something different in another country.

Please keep topics in a tech forum focused on tech. I really don't know why I must continue to make this point. 🙄

PlayStation 2 got a reaction from Rybo in USPS is getting new trucks but only 10% are electric
For anyone who can't contextualize how much driving delivery trucks do in a day, I notice that datasheets for the trucks at my FedEx facility will go from anywhere from 50-120 miles in a day, at least typically. Some go into Tennessee, which definitely adds to the higher end of that portion. Highway or even regular street driving doesn't kill fuel economy (or electric mileage) nearly as badly as constantly stopping and going every... 50-200 feet? Which is definitely something a USPS postal truck is doing comparatively to even a FedEx or UPS delivery van.
Having to constantly dig into the torque range versus being able to consistently (or even somewhat consistently) ride at a steady pace murders any gains in range and overall efficiency. 300 miles is 300 miles, but 300 miles means nothing without context in how a car is driven.
