  1. Wait I just realised I only connect the sshd and ood to the PSU, am I meant to connect them to the mobo too?
  2. I'll try to change SATA cables but I don't have win10 on usb, only on disc. I'll try the SATA thing now and report back
  3. Just finished building my ultra PC, one problem, on the bios of the z97-a, under boot priority, no items are listed. I've put a Windows 10 disc in the disc drive but nothing. Please help!!
  4. Might sound like a stupid question but in my motherboard handbook it says that the cpu fan connector only supports the cpu fan of maximum 1A (12W) fan power. The DRP3 is a 250W fan. Does this mean I can't use it? I may be being dumb but need a quick answer. Building right now. Thanks.
  5. I put it on PC part picker and was told it was all compatible but I was talking more clearance room in terms of ram/cooler, gpu/case etc
  6. Rather than slate the first comment can we try and focus on the quality/compatibility of the build?
  7. I want to be able to overclock it, hence the k
  8. Hi guys, Planning on building a PC in the next week or so, and before I order all the parts with the fantastic black friday deals (!), I just wanted to ensure everything was compatible. CPU - Intel i7 4790k Mo/bo - ASUS z97-a G/Card - MSI GTX 980ti (1178Mhz) RAM - Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) LP CPU cooler - Dark Rock Pro 3 Case - be Quiet! Silent Base 800 (BLACK) PSU - Corsair RM650 Gold 80+ Storage - Seagate 2TB SSHD OS - Windows 10 Monitor - Acer XB270hu (PREDATOR) brpz It'll cost a little under £2000, which is a lot, so I want to make sure everything will slot in nicely together. I know the issues with the Dark Rock Pro 3 being just about the beefiest cooler i can get (Silence is a big thing for me). If someone could just let me know if it'll all fit together and is all compatible. Thanks in advance!
  9. There are so many great options. Ideally im looking for silence with my PC parts as the 980ti even without overclocking is powerful enough to run 144fps on a 1440p monitor, however performance is also a major factor (duh!). So I've got it down to either: The zotac amp Or The MSI Twin Frozr OC Edition The second is so much more expensive than the first and I wanna save money where I can without cutting corners but it seems the zotac out-powers the MSI? Anyway, any recommendations between these two or any other cards would be greatly appreciated.
  10. That's meant to say Acer on the monitor.
  11. Here's my (planned) setup. This is my first time building a computer so excuse me if its crappy:
  12. Thanks for the advice! I was also told to put the power supply in first and build the rest of the PC with wet cotton socks on my hands But seriously I'm slightly oblivious when it comes to this as I said I'm a total beginner. I thought two intake fans and 3 exhaust fans would fool it but now I'm guessing I need an actual cooling device? Could you enlighten me?
  13. That's meant to be Acer XB270HU sorry Did a lot of comparisons with Asus' ROG Swift
  14. Wasn't sure where to post this but - This is my first time building a computer, so I wanna know that the research I've done into th parts pays off because really I don't know what this will turn out like. In short - tell me if its good or crap; all criticism is welcome.
