The big difference between this and a smart whiteboard is that as long as you're working with Microsoft products, Excel Word Powerpoint, which you moooost likely are in your office for general business meetings, the files are sent back to everyone in the group with those annotations. This product really sells itself in the integration with presentation workflow

Absolutely a fantastic use case for the technology. Makes me think about other situations where a rescue team would have a difficult time getting to someone quickly but a drone could give immediate, albeit temporary, support

zanduh got a reaction from captain_to_fire in Vietnamese security firm says They've Broken Face ID a Week After iPhone X Release
So it took 5 minutes to scan the face
They specifically didn’t state whether or not “attention required” was checked off which I take to mean they didn’t have it checked. And on top of that if they failed the face recognition then it would force them to switch to the passcode. We don’t know how many attempts and resets it took them to get it to work.

This. I just want to use zbrush and mudbox while I'm sitting outside (weather permitting) or on my couch. I don't need to game and I don't need to render. That's why I have the desktop.

Competitions is good. Hopefully the competition between this and the hololens forces both companies to improve the usability, features, UI, and size and formfactor.

The dream is a pair of normal looking glasses that can achieve more than what Holo Lens delivers.

Not to cause useless arguments but you're not correct. The hololens camera tech evolved from the kinect from 2007 and officially began devlopment in 2010. In 2012 Google released its first concept video of what Google Glass could be (and it showed no actual google glass product, only an After Effects video of what Google Glass could be). Then at I/O 2012 Google showed a bunch of extreme sports where the only functionality of the glass was to record video and be a GoPro. By 2014 the Glass Explorer program was dead and the design and iteration of the device showed zero sign of incorporating AR.
Using this information it is a safe bet that Google didn't start trying to incorporate AR into Glass until Fadell recovered the project in January of this year. This is the same month that Microsoft unveiled the HoloLens

The Apple side is impressive and the android side is to be expected. Fragmentation and android skins will do that to you. When I had an iPhone it was cool updating to the next iteration of iOS and immediately seeing all of my apps ready with updates to support the next version.

Also it's cool to see a thread where people can say Apple is doing something well without people mindlessly lashing out at the company.

There is really a lot more changes. Might not seem like it if you haven't been following its development closely. I wrote this in another thread but I'll just copy paste it below. Honestly I forgot half the things on this list myself until I decided to make a list of changes.

Overhauled Start menu The Action Center/notification center Cortana (If you are concerned about privacy, there are lots of options for enabling/disabling things Cortana can/cannot do, what she does and doesn't have access to, etc.) Continuum (Modifies the UI for tablet or desktop usage depending on device type and input method being used.) UI for switching tasks (Alt-Tab) is significantly improved Aero Snap functionality hugely improved New Microsoft Edge browser Universal Apps (This is more relevant if you have multiple Windows-based devices, including PC, Phone, Xbox, HoloLens, etc.) Running Universal/Modern apps in a window on the desktop Windows Hello (Automatically login/lock PC by face detection, requires special webcam hardware.) DirectX12 Multiple virtual desktops All stock apps are completely overhauled (Store, Photos, Weather, Groove Music, Movies & TV, Settings, Mail & Calendar, Calculator, Alarm & Clock, and many more) Xbox app, will bring a bunch of Xbox platform features to Windows 10 including bringing some Xbox games to Windows 10 and allowing cross-platform play, etc. Xbox app can also act as a Game DVR/take screenshots. It will also allow the Xbox One-to-PC game streaming. They are also reportedly working on PC-to-Xbox One streaming. The Xbox games on Windows 10 confirmed so far are Fable Legends, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Gigantic, and Killer Instinct. Doom (2016 release) is also coming to Xbox One and Windows 10. Also, all the Xbox 360 games that will be playable via backwards compatibility can also be stream to Windows 10 PCs File Explorer is improved as well with new functionality Login screen UI is updated Plenty of UI refinements all over the place, everything looks a lot nicer and more pleasing now Phone Companion app that works not only with Windows phones but also iPhones and Android phones Command Prompt has been improved after all these years as well with a more scale-able GUI and new features like being able to paste using Ctrl+V, among other things (These improvements also apply to PowerShell): http://arstechnica.c...e-21st-century/ Windows Update in Windows 10 supports peer-to-peer downloading on the same local network. So if you have 2 or more PCs then 1 PC downloads the Windows updates from the internet, then all other PC download the updates from the first PC so it will be faster for the other PCs and save on your internet bandwidth cap if you have one. Better high-resolution screen support. Windows 10 supports up to 8K displays and will have better UI scaling overall. Data Sense and Storage Sense apps (ported from Windows Phone OS) Then there is still things beyond that as well as things that are more business/enterprise oriented.

    Here's a tomb raider benchmark:

    Stock:

    OC:

Max FPS went up by 6, minimum went up 2, average up by 4.

    That's a max increase of 9% FPS, that's nearly the difference between a 970 and a 980.

    GPU OC & VRAM OC:

    Tests done by JayzTwoCents

IDK about you, but I'll take a 10% improvement for very very little increased heat output & power draw, especially since it's for free!

Keep in mind, at higher framerates, that 10% will make an even bigger difference.  If you were at 100 FPS, you'd be at 106-110 with that memory OC.  Totally worth it IMO, especially since it takes virtually zero effort.

Correct this is not about paparazzi.

And not just magazines but also for album covers, the artwork in the booklet in the CD. All the imagery used in marketing, on web sites, physical ads, etc. Those pictures are taken by professional photographers and photography is a very serious job and requires a ton of skill at a pro level, this is not snapping pics with your smartphone. They deserve to be paid well. Most professional photographers at that level will have easily invested $30,000 in equipment even only after a few years. They deserve to be properly paid for their work and not forced to hand over the rights of their IP for a one-time payment meanwhile Taylor Swift and co get to make money off it forever while the person who did 100% of the work never sees another dime.

It's sad how undervalued photography is. Hardly anybody outside of the photography world actually understands how much work and dedication it requires to do well.

At the very least @zMeul could update the OP with the proper statements from Gibbo, saying it's normal to be voltage locked before release, and that a software update to the OC programs, usually includes voltage unlocks. Right now, it is simply dishonest to the point, where Gibbo himself tore everyone a new one, for quoting out of context and not the full statements.

This isn't about privacy and paparazzi, these are professional photographers who do photo shoots for magazines and basically have to give up all the rights to their work.

I agree with AMD here 100%.

You can't have your customers overclocking something if it is unstable will most likely harm the component and then have the customer tell you the card is broken and demand a refund or exchange. Same goes for the NVIDIA laptop situation.

So I view it as, you exist as an entity right now in which your brain has thought and emotion and a sense of being. If you made a copy of your brainwaves and chemical composition that makes you who you are then you still would not be in the computer. A copy of you would exist on the computer. So if your body was destroyed in the process, you would die so that a copy of you could live on forever in the computer.

I'm selfish. I don't want a copy of me to go on living forever. I want to live forever.
