  1. I guess not then good people!
  2. I'm looking to pc game only in 4K and need a 32inch monitor that will go 75Hz - does such a thing exsist? I dont want to pay for 144hz monitors etc. I have kept an eye open but no luck. Ideally I would prob prefer TN or VA panel re refresh rate and price. I use a 32inch 1440p 144hz VA panel for a long time now and it's great but I do want to try 4k as me old eyes............................ Cheers!
  3. https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/ROG-Strix-XG32VQ/ I have used this monitor (only to game on) for a fair while now and still love it.
  4. My focus on keys was for heavy FPS gaming and the ability to type ok. I first tried (all cherry) reds, the Speed but suffered with mistypes/hits. I then got browns and couldn't be happier.
  5. This is refreshing to hear. I built a detached shed in the garden to game in, I leave for it quickly after dinner. I then return when my gorgeous wife and wonderful daughter are fast asleep. But thats what 15 plus years of being married does to a man!
  6. I have used this VA panel for a good while, I only care about gaming on it and it has done a great job. https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/ROG-Strix-XG32VQ/ The only gaming application I would say it may suffer a little is with pro level twitch shooters.
  7. Also the mic on the game series from Sennheiser is really good, I used their PC360 for ages and the mic was top notch for gaming. I now have mod mic and it is great as well, but my friends comment on no real noticeable difference in quality.
  8. I havnt played RUST for well over a year but when I did I would only play community run vanilla servers - the mods were fantastic. Have a search around and you will be fine.
  9. I'm cool mate. I am very happy with my 1080ti for now and see no reason to consider upgrading until there is a more significant performance jump and effectively 4K 144hz is a thing in the games i tend to play. Which is likely a long way off as i mostly play hugely demanding, online multiplayer team shooters.
  10. not for gaming, yet. I agree, but it will go that way like it always does.
  11. I paid £633/$803 for my MSI Gaming X 1080ti in march this year. Usually I don't care so much about price but in this case I am starting to feel I did a great thing, still loving the card and am likely to consider changing it out once the next generation from nvidia is released and everything just out, settles down and matures.
  12. Thanks for that info - I have been unsure about this for so long! I run 32GB RAM, yet in some games I was using say 15GB RAM and (according to MSI Afterburner) say another 18GB on page file. Now I know it means only (in this example) 3GB pagefile, which makes so much more sense.
  13. I found a huge difference between open and closed back headphones. I thought open was the only way for me until I got my Fostex T50RP Mk3's which are classed as semi open, semi open seems great for what I want and do with them.
  14. I have the medusa true 5.1's (played alot with these long ago) and also the roccat kave 5.1 true analogue headsets (not tried yet) and found the directional sound to be a tad better, when a game supports it and it's all set up right. BUT, a drastic reduction in overall audio quality. This is in direct comparison to cheap normal audio, right off the motherboard with a cheaper set of Sennheiser PC360's. I really wanted true 5.1 to be a thing for me, but found it wasn't. So i invested in a much superior stereo set up and now understand what the audio lads are going on about. My sound is now fantastic, accurate, clear and immersive. But that cost some good money and research time. One day I will hook up the roccats just to see, but never seem to remember to bother!
  15. If you havn't tried VR Racing sims yet do yourself a favour and do so, then decide.
  16. Yes I had exactly this issue and searched high and low, and found this https://en.roccat.org/Mice/Kone-AIMO It is superb, and bigger than G502. I have been using it for a couple of months and find it's superior for me.
  17. yes exactly that, cheers I will give it a try.
  18. yes just googled it, so can I do this somehow?
  19. aha, right i'll try that - its in nvidia control panel?
  20. Alright good people, I am away from PC just now and had the urge to gain some knowledge before I try something. I have a 32", 144hz, 1440p, 16:9 display. Will it upscale correctly using Nvidia DSR factors feature via Nvidia control panel to 4K? Is it correct that x1.5 dsr will do the job, and aside from a small fps hit an a small additional input lag I shall be good to go in windows and gaming? If I can push the FPS at 1.5 dsr, will I still be able to handle the increased data transfer over DP1.2 cable up to 144hz? cheers for any experience/advise you car etc give.
  21. I checked it out a while back and yes should be fine.
  22. I have one of these since launch, https://www.asus.com/uk/Monitors/ROG-Strix-XG32VQ/ The only reason I can see me changing is if the equivalent but 4k and low input lag becomes reasonably available, it's a great gaming monitor.
  23. I only really care about gaming, well I thought I did. I have used cherry speed, red and brown switches. Each time I thought I had made the right decision, I loved the reds, speed and now I love the browns. But the difference is I can type much better on the browns, and they game just great. The speeds and red switches were very problematic for general PC work. I do hit the switches hard, the browns have more feel and take more to activate which seems to suit me well.
  24. In terms of FPS Gaming (all I really care about and do) I found 1440p to be perfect, more so because of the type of FPS games I play (Squad, Post Scriptum, Escape From Tarkov and Arma 3). These games have alot of ranged fighting, and flinch type CQB. They are by triple A games standards, very hard to run decent FPS on. I found the difference between 1080p and 1440p significant. And 1440p and 4k less so. The issue is keeping the frames high, and the input lag low. 4k hits frames pretty hard, and generally speaking the monitors available have a higher input lag. Above 60Hz refresh in 4k is expensive, on a decent screen. If you are not a competitive FPS gamer, and can drive playable frames in 4k - do it!
