  1. motherboard: Asus, Gigabyte ram: Corsair graphics card: depends on the type but many are good imho, it's hard to find a really bad (big) brand today SSD: Samsung hard drive: WD fan: noctua cases: varies, there are many good manufacturers power supply: Seasonic
  2. As a WIN1 owner, I can say that while a good idea, the 1st gen device is completely unusable to me. The 5.5" screen is just too small for anything windows-related, and eye-fatigue sets in rather fast for me (in like 15mins). I doubt the 6" screen of the WIN2 is any better in that regard, and at that price range I think people are better off buying a 7Y30 tablet/convertible to play games on. Even better get a second-hand haswell laptop for the money. You might think that kind of defeats the purpose of the "handheld" gaming, but as I said the tiny screen is just to small to comfortably game on for a longer period.
  3. Ah crap, and I searched beforehand... Some1 care to delete this shame?
  4. Original article: http://hexus.net/tech/news/cpu/107005-amd-ryzen-threadripper-1950x-16c32t-cpu-gets-geekbenched/ Read the article, now I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but the single core result looks too high for that clock (3.39GHz), whilst the multicore result looks too damn low for a 32-thread beast. This can't be real, can it? Or am I missing something here? For reference: Ryzen Threadripper 1950X score 4216/24723 Ryzen 7 1800X @ 3.60GHz score 4208/23188 Intel Core i7-7700K @ 4.20GHz score 5806/19942
  5. I love the comments section below that post, one guy actually said "bigger than the drop in your share prices? OHHHHHH" that one made me giggle a bit
  6. Nvidia just announced on their facebook page it's planning on streaming an event on January 5th. https://www.facebook.com/NVIDIA/videos/10154352283768253/ I suppose the 1080ti is on its way... maybe not.
  7. So basically I said fuck it and ordered a 1070 G1 gaming I don't upgrade every year anyway
  8. I don't get the comments like: The 1070 is better, BUT if you OC the 980ti it will perform bettter than the 1070, is the 1070 not overclockable as well? As far as I'm concearned both cards can deliver up to 15% better performance by overclocking, (on average, counting in the lottery). Have in mind that the 1070 is a newer architecture, thus will recieve further improvements and longer life support down the line, so from a "furureproof" standpoint it makes more sense. Also 1070 is a better VR card so have that in mind also if you plan on getting a VR headset in a couple of years. As more "futureproof" and less power hungry the 1070 may be it doesn't make sense to me to spend 100USD+ more on it just because of that from your standpoint (if it was me I wouldn't even consider the 980ti as a long-term GPU for myself). Right now they're pretty much on par, what will happen down the line we just can't tell you.
  9. Man I'm done with ASUS for now...
  10. Also, according to my research the EVGA 1.0 970 is the loudest of the bunch here, as opposed to the ACX 2.0 which is more silent.
  11. No warranty, buying second hand here Also that EVGA is the oldest card here, with the other ones being only a couple of months old. Honestly I'd looove to go camp green again but somehow I just can't shake the feeling I'd be sorry down the line. The 390 just seems more promising, even if I'd love me some of that green lovin' ...
  12. A straight up answer. I appreciate that.
  13. The itch is getting to me people, I've decided to change my GPU. As you can see I still use my 280X DCU II TOP by ASUS and it's working well but a bit loud under load. I've decided I'm gonna go and change my GPU for either a Sapphie Nitro 390 with a backplate or a Gigabyte 970 OC (not the g1, so no backplate). PLEASE DON'T SUGGEST I GET A 480 OR A 1060 BECAUSE THEY ARE WAAAY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE DEALS I'M GETTING ON THESE TWO. The cards in question: http://www.olx.ba/artikal/22189103/sapphire-nitro-radeon-r9-390-8g-with-back-plate/ http://www.olx.ba/artikal/22090622/gigabyte-gtx-970-oc/ Both cards cost the same, so pricing doesn't matter. Also, both cards are confirmed to have been purchased 2-3 months ago (receipts on-hand). THE JOKER CARD: For about the same money I can maybe get the EVGA 970 Superclocked (ACX 1.0 model): http://www.olx.ba/artikal/22279928/nvidia-970-gtx-evga-gtx-970-acx-1-0-superclocked-4gb/ (But tbh I'm not leaning towards it, I like the 970 TDP, physx and 3d vision support as well as other nvidia goodies, but I like the Nitro cooler and the promise of future performance with the 8gb, don't care about the backplate and the 5-10 fps difference at all). STUFF TO BEAR IN MIND: I value silence the most, then temperature, and then the performance because I dont really mind the ~5FPS difference. I have an ASUS VG278H monitor with Nvidia 3D Vision built-in, but I'm not really crazy about it, as you can see I already own and use an AMD 280X. So a straight forward question, either the Windforce 970 or the Nitro 390, with the ACX 1.0 970 being the only alternative. No other cards, no other suggestions. GO!
  14. nope, your core clock is stable during the benchmark accoring to the readout. It would drop and spike and you can see a straght line there.
  15. No fricken idea, try a different version maybe and wait for a new fix? I remember this guy having similar driver issues with nvidia recently:
