  1. What I should have said earlier is, that I'm looking to play singleplayer games with 4K @ 60fps, and multiplayer games with 1080p @ the highest fps possible.
  2. But then the question becomes, in newer games like doom multiplayer, what would give me a higher framerate? a single GTX1080 @ 1080p? or a Titan X @ 1080p? Would be the Titan X no?
  3. When I do play a game like CS:GO, I intend to bring the resolution down so I can maximize fps. You asked why I need the 2 cards, and the answer is to play 4k @ 60 in single-player games.

  6. I'm looking to play multiplayer games with the least amount of input lag possible. I even made sure the TV I recently purchased had an input lag under 20ms. I understand that two video cards in SLI, will take an additional frame to render. Am I to understand that this will add 16ms of lag to my games, nearly doubling my overall input lag?

  8. The *only* reason I'm considering it is, with the slight performance increase i should be able to run 4K @ 60fps. I understand that the GTX1080 can only achieve something like 40-45fps. Also... I'm in posession of 2 Asus GTX1080 OC editions, one of which was a gift. I'm planning to sell both brand new, and use the money for the titanx as long as it will in fact get me 4K @ 60fps. The general consensus seems to be that the 1080s in SLI won't get me the performance I'm looking for in every game since it depends on a few factors: drivers, game development, etc. I understand that SLI performance varies from game to game.

  10. Will I have any bandwidth issues if I get a *new*(hasn't yet been released) Titan X? My understanding is the gp102 architecture is not to far from hitting the cap of pcie3. I'm running an ASUS RAMPAGE V EDITION 10 with 2 pciex16/8 and 2 pciex8 along with an Intel Core i7-5820K. I know the GTX1080 I recently purchased is safe, but what about the Titan X with its 30% performance increase?Also which slot should I use for the Titan x?   11. I'm doing high end gaming. As of now two cards = around 1400, the titan x is 1200.

  13. I'd like to know the opinions from some experts on what my best option here is. Mind you, I'm looking to use these cards for gaming, specifically running a 4K resolution at a *solid* 60fps. I have two 2 ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX *OC Edition* cards currently on their way, and one of them was purchased by someone else as a gift. They cost $724 each with tax and shipping. The new Titan X was just announced yesterday, and retails for $1200. The specs do not seem to be worth the price tag however. Yes, it's sufficient for running 4k at a stable 60fps, but It looks like my 2 cards in SLI could potentially do the same. The specs of my two cards doubled seems to be considerably superior to the Titan(if it works that way). However, I have some concerns about the actual benefits of SLI from past experience. For one, in order to take advantage of SLI performance, games need to support it. Now, this may be more common than it was 5 years ago. If a game supports SLI, will it ultimately double the resources of a single card? (clock speed, ram etc.) Secondly, How many future AAA titles do you think will support SLI?If you check the specs, the Titan X does not seem to double the performance of a single GTX1080. I believe I read something like a 20-24% increase. Enough to get 4k @ 60fps, but definitely not worth the $1200 price tag. If i didn't receive one of these cards as a gift, and couldn't sell them on ebay(potentially for a nice profit as they're sold out all over), I wouldn't even be considering it. However, if it's more likely to get me 4k @ 60fps with a majority of games, then I am willing to fork out the extra.Your thoughts and opinions are appreciated. Thanks.
