  1. as 3++ others have already posted, that is the whole point....he exposed government secrets and compromised national security. Whether it was morally right or wrong doesn't matter - it's still treason and has it's consequences
  2. Adam Sessler called this out back with the OUYA's launch - the CEO, Julie Uhrman, had no clue how to launch a game console. She kept pushing "we're here for developers, we're here for game developers", yet constantly had NOTHING to show for her platform coming up on release. Barely any games at all to show, and no major games to push interest in the console
  3. I meant - it's not a point of how much of a risk to national security he exposed the point is that it IS(/WAS) a top secret government agency, and is not his right to share such information. if you're let in on a government secret, it's still not yours to share with the world
  4. that's not the point the point the politicians are trying to make - that 90% of the raging pitchforks over the internet just aren't listening too - are that you can't deny that Snowden expelled privileged information that he wasn't allowed too as if....Intel hires you and gives you access to R&D information, it's for the purposes of your job towards the company goal. It is still not your information to share to the world. If you have a problem with the company plans, you bring it up in a civilized manner - you don't light a fire and hand out pitchforks. You probably signed paperwork when hired on to be made clear on these kind of things the severity of this is that we're talking about secret government security information and organizations. When you're hired on to these organizations, you're not just given access to this stuff to just do what you want with it. It belongs to the government. You are taking government secrets and sharing them to the world - it's treason. Stop defining it as morally right or wrong, it's still treason the grey line is whether him bringing up the issue "normally" would have worked because of the nature of what was exposed - the NSA was never supposed to be exposed to the public and always be a secret, so the other side of the argument is - "how would Snowden have raised awareness of something that doesn't exist"
  5. check insurance first. back when I sold cars, I had one on trade-in. I've lost countless deals on it because customers said their insurance said it would cost more than a corvette to insure. big v6 motor too close to impact points on the car and what not. your mileage may vary, so check - but definitely don't go into a purchase without checking on that car
  6. all of the BattleField based/originated youtubers are garbage. Frankie, lvlcap, xfactor, etc. They're all overrated trash and don't actually understand the inner workings of BF yet tout themselves like they do - and idiots just blindly follow because they just (and only) upload clips of them going on killstreaks, regardless of how much PTFO they're doing but....people are stupid and keep watching them.....oh well....
  7. Great job sharing a garbage piece of "journalism", now they got even more attention and ad revenue - which is the whole business model of their business
  8. a friend having more fun testing new BW turbo's (this one is the upcoming 9174)
  9. can we stop with these sensationalist headlines? it's just an AiO cpu + gpu cooler combined....big deal...... it's getting harder and harder to even find actual news posts in this section
  10. I just realized something why doesn't Bethesda just control their prices and never drop their price under $30 (or some other number)? Keep the revenue from the game higher, justified by said mods increasing game longevity? They don't have to dip into a modder's territory, while still collecting a note-worthy amount on the game years after release (compared to the laughable $5 skyrim we have now)
  11. meh, they've been out since the Evo's release and they still haven't grown on me. don't hate them, just don't care enough /shrug yes - dotted line is my car stock google Exyia Evo X and you'll see my two build threads (2012 and 2013). blew the motor and got it back up and running recently. just finishing touches and prepping for a new build log
  12. they are LED, and I don't like them enough to spend money on them. they don't look like an upgrade to me - just different /shrug personal opinion they're about ~$250, I'd rather spend it on something else
  13. RACECAR MODE ENGAGED got a new wing. was expensive, but couldn't pass the opportunity from a friend. these wings are expensive and have a huge lead time, and I much prefer the look of them over the Aeromotions or APR now just need to black out the headlights this weekend and then I should be done!
  14. go XB1 or PS4 the quality control on the 360 controllers has gone to complete crap - everyone is just completely oblivious to it. the control sticks don't ever return to a proper zero on either axis, as well as having tons of physical slop to them. I'm stuck with mine because I bought it at gamestop and they are only willing to take it as a used trade-in (as in, for next to nothing) then I bought another one at Best Buy, same problem. Thankfully Best Buy let me return that one I posted about it, but nobody cared to even check. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/275850-xb360-controller-returning-to-zero-check/ You've been warned. 360 controllers do not deserve the praise that they get anymore. They used to be great, but I think MS changed (to cheaper) manufacturers when they refreshed the 360. I hate every time I have to use this overpriced piece of garbage these days
  15. only people who are clueless about guns think this is a good idea and been discussed/attempted many times already
  16. exactly the point - it's nothing but branding. Japanese culture doesn't want them seen in other brands, even from far distant markets Nissan makes competing products to Mitsubishi (most common in America probably being forklifts)
  17. lolllllllll I've seen quite a few pop up lately these days too Lancers are not being discontinued, just the Evo Evo's have always been better - better motor, better drivetrain, better handling; STi's better daily drivers, fun boxer rumble, WRX's great stock cars for SCCA class rules. ask any tuner shop and they'll tell you the same Mitsubishi Motors will and always exist as the outlet for Mitsubishi CEO's to be seen in their own company cars, not as a full on car manufacturer. Mitsubishi is a huge engineering/manufacturing company - their (culture can't let) execs/ceo's be seen driving around in a competitor's car, they need something with their own brand name on it
  18. SKU is how any and all businesses confirm that they are referring to the correct product. Product names and descriptions are not accurate enough to go off of with how many websites are lazily put together and copy-pasted with product information from random sources so it makes complete sense that they can't honor it if they can't match SKU's - it's simply not fair to them to price match if they can't confirm 100% that they're comparing the same product
  19. My god Corsair, your overhyped marketing of "only german cherry MX" is so ridiculous OHHHH LOOK AT US WE OFFER ONLY THE BEST!!!! CHERRY MX GREATER THAN ALL!!!!111!!!111 switch options: Cherry MX Red, Cherry MX Brown ....... all this fanboying over Cherry MX and you only bother to offer two of their switches? Please get over yourself. Tons of other people use Cherry MX, and many others offer more options than you do at this point
  20. just fuel surged it from going too fast in the corners...and I'm too competitive of a person to "dial it back". I was already out there, I'm going to push it as far as I can I was surprised at a few things I was way better at than the track drivers there - some wider sweepers that require further trajectory people kept missing, but it was no different from looking out to a distant cone for me. felt natural to me yet everyone kept discussing how hard those corners were /shrug all in all, can't wait to get back out there. will still do some autox just because it's so cheap and frequent, but definitely focusing on NASA TT >=) btw, evoxforums blew up when Kooldino royally screwed up Rik84's build lol. we're all on boostedforum.com now. we don't lock or nuke threads, all completely honest and unfiltered (already had some good reading material in there that would have been locked by the second page on other forums). should kill some time there next time you're bored at work =)
  21. lol yeah......talk about flashback! blew the motor at TX2K13 (don't worry Exyia, you won't drive fast enough on your first track event - autox doesn't count! - proved them wrong) got it back recently, now it's doing this: (dotted line is my baseline) bout to head back out within the next few weeks (assuming there's no frame damage, doesn't seem like it) that's really not that bad. motor still looks perfectly fine, and he'd probably take less than 12.5k for it just to get rid of it. most of the damaged parts are common upgrades anyway. you would spend ~4k-ish just to get a new oem longblock anyway, paying a little over twice that for a whole car is not a bad deal
  22. what happened to your original one warmmilk? I remember the name from evoxforums (back when it was good)
  23. they're the japanese version of a muscle car - they suck as an actual performance car the minute you test drive one, you'd get the same impression. loud, noisy (not just exhaust, road/tire noise is worse than exhaust noise), terrible visibility, heavy, and the handling/grip feels centered around just having a ton of weight loading the tires, rather than actual mechanical grip straight line performance is meh compared to the competition - not even close in track/handling performance all it has going for it is some decent low/mid range torque to floor it in....again, a japanese muscle car. nice to look at and admire, but you'd really have to be into them to own one
  24. sigh, found this yesterday. putting the car on the lift tomorrow (new exhaust) so hopefully the threads are still good
  25. it's a pointless argument. there are hundreds of topics in the news section that don't warrant being there. this forum is hardly useful for actual news anymore with a thread popping up every few minutes over a one sentence blanket statement from some stupid CEO/PR team, or some pathetically bare, no spec product "announcement". but it's considered "news" because everyone likes to post meme's and lol at them, or start some barely related fanboy argument
