Yongtjunkit reacted to Kiyuubi in How to track down Microsoft spying on windows 7++ and how to stop them?
You cannot really do much unless you own the Enterprise version. You can "disable" things in the others, but it will still collect your data. I still don't trust Microsoft with the Enterprise version.
That being said, you can at least try..
A user on these forums created a script that does a bit for you, called mPurge. I haven't personally used it, but I did read the source. Basically it uninstalls OneDrive, blocks Microsoft data collection in hosts file, disables Customer Experience Improvement Pgoram, and edits the registry a bit.
On top of that I would use PeerBlock with the Spyware, Education, Advertising, and Microsoft lists. It will block any connection in those IP ranges. TinyWall is neat too. It is a front-end for the Windows Firewall, and will block any connections from programs, services, etc, that isn't whitelisted.
These things can break things, so you will need to tinker with them. There are a few other things I believe, but I cannot remember them.
Your best bet is to go Linux, as even though you are taking measures for your privacy on Windows, it is still proprietary software and you have no way of knowing for sure that it is actually working.

Hmm not too sure then, other than a random dead zone from large buildings, the best would be to see if someone else that uses that provider also has that problem in or around the area.

Thats bit two-sided issue with both Tapatalk and Cloudflare exception rules (as pointed out during last DDoS attack). You CAN access forums but not with Tapatalk. And you can access YT. Not the best way ofc...

Yongtjunkit reacted to LinusTech in Are the LTT edition Noctua fans High Airflow or Static Pressure? [FD Venturi vs LTT fans]
Noctua had never told me this but I suspect their fans use static pressure optimized designs because there aren't many performance critical situations where you don't need high static pressure.
Restrictive grills, hard drive cages, heatsink, radiators, small cases jam packed with components - these things all benefit from higher static pressure and are also applicatiosn where a better fan can have a noticeable impact on cooling performance.
A metal wire fan grill at the back or top of the case that just needs to move some air around is pretty much the only place where static pressure actually wouldn't matter, but a couple CFM less or more also wouldn't matter.
Imo calling a fan "airflow optimized" is about like saying "it's good to put in spots where performance frankly doesn't matter anyway".
So that's why LTT edition fans were chosen based on their excellent static pressure performance. A high static pressure fan will perform good enough in every situation whereas a high airflow fan will be marginally better where it doesn't matter and get crapped on where it does.
Better versatility this way.

Yongtjunkit reacted to ZetZet in can windows 7 (the built in windows media player) can play 4k video
Yes, but it will run like complete shit because it is complete shit. I think if you have no codecs it won't play.
Just download CCCP or VLC.

Yongtjunkit reacted to LogicalDrm in Linus tech tips forum down on tapatalk
Linus doesn't do much for forum operations. In that sense he's just another user. Luke is the main guy who you should contact. Or @colonel_mortis. To my kownledge nothing special has been added to Cloudflare. It's on whole time, but the active check is enabled when forum is under direct attack.

Yongtjunkit reacted to LiamApex in Iphone 5 screen spliting
ITS NOT THE CLIPS
ive repaired loads of iphones
the plastic and metal clip assembly is adhesive on to the actual screen with two screw down the side. whats pulling of yours is the digitizer. the adhesive has started to come unstuck. the screen will most likely need to be taken off and had the screw tightened and the adhesive replaced

Yongtjunkit got a reaction from comicsansms in Windows 10 Disappointments...
I've tried that but then it won't work. It requires you to change registry as stated in the link below
[https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-windows_install/windows-update-installation-failure-80240020/d695e827-9774-4e10-8972-df8d51a7bb51?auth=1/URL]
After changing the registry go to windows update on the desktop control panel and check for updates, you might see get windows 10 too, you are ready to download and upgrade to window 10
