  1. That really depends on several things. I don't think you can just state that its only is a one or two degrees difference. With my SLI setup a couple years ago, temperatures in my Corsair Graphite 600T were rediculously high. Switching to a Carbide Air 540 lowered them by approx. 10 degrees Celsius. I don't call that a minor difference. Airflow is still definitely a thing in my opinion.
  2. I still have a 540 myself, very satisfied. The dual chamber design makes up for great airflow, very clean cable management and it looks very clean as well. It's build quality is good, but if you want even better build quality then look into Phanteks cases. All though I don't think they're known for their airflow, which you specificly search for.
  3. When I read airflow, I think of the Corsair Carbide Air 540. Not the newest case anymore and the cube design isn't for everyone but it's a great case to work with, best cable management possible and the airflow is superb. I'd say look into it if you haven't yet.
  4. Rule of thumb is 120mm radiator space for each component, plus 120mm extra space as buffer. Keeping that in mind, 480mm radiator space should be sufficient. I see you took two EKWB waterblocks for your GPU's, why not pick a EKWB Supremacy EVO for your CPU? Those blocks are among the best CPU blocks on the market. I don't have personal experience with the Swiftech MCP-655 but i've been reading good things about it. Also, don't cheap out on fittings/adapters because you're going to regret it. Good luck and most important of all, have fun! First dive into custom water-cooling and creating your own personal loop is an awesome experience if you ask me.
  5. There is no thing as 'best headphone'. What do you want to use them for? Music, and what type? Movies, gaming? The Sennheiser HD558 and HD598 are popular picks in the open-back segment. The Audio Technica ATH M50x, Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro and the V-Moda XS are popular in the closed-back segment. To be able for us to give you a better answer, we got to know the main purpose of the cans.
  6. Currently: Xonar Essence STX RCA line-out > HQ RCA cable > Schiit Magni 2, RCA in > Headphone.
  7. We're not in the same line here. I respect your opinion but I do not share your thoughts. OP asked for a AMP recommendation and I gave my opinion. I might have been incorrect about impedance, I still stand behind my statement that my listening experienced became much better after hooking up my phones through the Schiit Magni 2. Might be just a non-justifiable slight difference for you, for me it was a major difference. I actually don't enjoy listening to my music without the amp. And all though the Essence STX sounded better than the onboard, it still lacked fullness, clarity, punch and overall volume compared to the standalone amp.
  8. I'm using a Asus Maximus Hero VIII, i don't think it's considered a bad mobo. It actually has a very decent on-board sound (SupremeFX). That 'tricking thing, more expensive stuff sounding better' you talk about is non-sense to me. I heard and hear the difference myself, i don't need anyone else his blind-test for this. There is a clear difference in SQ between the on-board sound, the Xonar Essence STX and the Schiit Magni 2. You can tell me what you want but i hear the difference within seconds.
  9. Thanks for your 'good' tip. However, i do talk from my own experience. Using an amp with my HD600/650 and some other headphones did make a noticeable difference compared to my on-board sound. Even so when comparing it to my Asus Xonar Essence STX card. So fine, trow all the theory at me as you want.. And let me be clear, you are possibly right in (almost) everything you say. But running headphones through a proper amp definitely makes up for a better listening experience. At least on the headphones i have listened to/own myself, and a DT-770 pro is one of them.
  10. From own experience, I do not agree with your statements. I own and have owned several high impedance headphones myself and they definitely started shining as soon as they got hooked up with a decent/good AMP. Without th AMP, the sound wasn't only lacking volume, the sound was muffled, boring and boomy also. Just saying you don't need an AMP for a pair of DT-770 is stupid also if you ask me. I can agree with you if your talking about the 32 and 80 ohm models. However, the 250 ohm -once again- definitely needs an AMP to shine.
  11. Properly driving a pair of 250 ohm headphones with onboard sound is a no-go. It's not just a lack volume, you need an AMP to open up these headphones, to really make them shine. My Sennheiser HD600/650 are loud enough through my onboard but they sound like garbage compared to hooking them up with the Schiit Magni 2. You could probably use the onboard as a DAC but you definitely need an AMP for the best listening experience.
  12. That is correct, if there is zero to none restriction an airflow fan would -in theory- move more air. However, in a cramped/small case with restrictions, a static pressure fan could be better. I don't know the situation in your case so I can't tell you which would be best.
  13. Static-pressure fans, as case-fans in a small case such as the Air 240 could actually be a good thing. I helps moving air through components in a cramped space.
  14. Not on maximum AA, hairworks etc... I highly doubt that to be honest.
