  1. I don't think this will do much to "solve" crimes, but be used as a preventative measure to keep things from happening in the future. Someone looking at materials to make bombs or blow up schools would be of interest to LEO's especially if they can start early surveillance. They could get in contact with that person and dupe them into thinking they were getting "real" bomb making material and show intent. That would of course lead into the people who are into making/sharing/looking up kiddie porn and other gross stuff like that. That being said, do I agree with this? No. I think there needs to be probable cause to initiate a search like that.
  2. Figured I would give you folks an update. I just received an email from Amazon stating that the estimated arrival is now November 4th, pushed back two days at this point in time.
  3. I'm guessing end of Q1 beginning of Q2. Another thing you can watch for is sales of their existing SSD's. I've noticed a lot of sales/promotions of their 850 pro SSD's lately as their new 950's are arriving at the end of the week.
  4. I would apply regardless of what others on here tell you. You'll learn a lot through applying, getting rejected, or applying and getting accepted. You won't know unless you try. Since your dad is in IT and has experience in the tech field, have him help you draft a resume (I recommend this to anyone, even a teenager). You can even use your "life skills" (though limited) to list your repair experience/computer building skills, as well as punctuality (school), attention to detail, etc. If you do any volunteer work at your church, or help others in class (tutoring) these things help as well. Go to the shop and see how they dress too, is it polo's and slacks? Or do they wear pressed shirts and ties? Either way you'll want to dress up, shine your shoes, cut your hair and be well groomed. Burger king isn't the best job in the world, though it will bring you some cash. I used to work there when I was your age, and don't miss it at all.
  5. Collect scrap metal/cans to recycle. Buy at yard sales, then flip items at a flea market, CL, or another local site. Buy used lawn equipment, fix them (most require a carb cleaning only) and sell them.
  6. I just use dish detergent and hand wash them, then rinse them thoroughly and let them dry. I've been doing this for years with my microfiber and use them on my glasses, laptop screen and TV's. No issues with any of the coatings.
  7. If they show Jar Jar in carbonite with a broken control panel so he couldn't be revived, I would be happy.
  8. is that your r/w speed of that drive? What type of boot times do you have with it and what OS are you running?
  9. Not sure I will sign up for this, but I would like to hear more about it and how much actually goes to the content creators before breaking out the torch and pitchfork.
  10. I'm cautiously optimistic... but I remember the hype train around SW: Episode 1 and seeing pictures of Darth Maul and how cool he looked... then I watched the movie and got an eye full and an ear full of Jar Jar... I suppose I shouldn't have expected much after the re-release of SW in the late 90's and all the changes George Lucas made to the original film (which was fine the way it was).
  11. Amazon in the US now lists the 950 pro for pre order. I placed an order, says November 2nd for arrival.
  12. Newegg is showing December 1st, 2015 on their website for US residents. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147466&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= I think I'm going to order my backup drive and use that for my main OS until this comes out, I can't push my build back another month as that effects my kids schooling too much.
  13. You're more likely to get stalked by some weird person who asks for personal information that you met on the street, in a store, or overheard at a checkout counter. I'm sure you're fine. That being said though... if you're really that paranoid about it, then don't give out personal information, period. IRL or online.
