GoldForest got a reaction from ds5018 in Thread for Linus Tech Tips Video Suggestions
So, I was messing around with Excel and figuring out how many megapixels resolutions would make. By messing around with the 21:9 ratio, I found that you get a gigapixel (More specifically 1,268,121,600) of pixels by having a resolution of 55040 x 23040, which just happens to be 16 times the resolution of 3440 x 1440. Then I remembered the 16K gaming setup.
So, here's my suggestion to LTT. Do a 55K gaming setup. 16 1440 UW monitors in a 16 x 16 grid. Give us a gigapixel! Show us the power it takes to run such fidelity!
Edit: So, I messed up, I don't know how. 4x4 3440 does make 55K gaming, 16 x 16 3440 makes 55K. A little harder to do than 4x4... Still, would love to see this tried to be pulled off. If you use the Samsung Odessey Neo, it would only take 8 x 8 panels to reach a gigapixel.

That's what I've heard. Can't go wrong with Noctua.
Oh, and if anyone is wondering why I just don't use my current X61, I plan on selling it to a friend along with the board, RAM, and CPU.

GoldForest got a reaction from D Levy in Any suggestions on good 7.1(Or 5.1) headphones?
I do have one question, will they provide good surround sound?
Also, I did more research on the Tiamats, they connect directly to the PC through 3.5mm jacks. There is a USB, but that's for power. All the speakers are jacked. The USB with the Tiamat from what I understand is for speaker pass through, letting the control box send sound from PC to your Speakers.
Alright, well, I've have a lot to think about. I think I might head to one of the big cities near me and try to find a best buy or something with demos.

So soundcard + non-computer headphones is what you're saying?
Huh, good to know.

I can understand REmake, I can understand the NES and Super NES mini, but this? Just release your games on Steam for a good price dammit.

GoldForest got a reaction from Uptivuptiz in Need opinion on the monitors AOC . Please advice.
Either of the ASUS.
If you want screen, the ultrawide, if you want hz, the 27 inch.
I don't know AOC that well, but ASUS has a great reputation when it comes to their monitors

So will Intel say that their CPUs are "glued together"?

I did not know that. I was just following the common rule, "Ram speed =/= performance". Glad to see that that has been kicked in the butt.

GoldForest got a reaction from mikat in First Build!
Wrong thread for this. You should have put it in 'planning'.
As far as parts go,
CPU Cooler: Someone told me the NZXT x61 is better as it is bigger. They said it runs quieter and cooler as well.
Graphics card: The ASUS 980ti strix pulls more watts than PCPartPicker claims. From this one review I've seen it pulls around 280 watts, but even with a 1000w PSU you are good.
Speaking of PSU: If you want Cosair, go with RMI or AXI, emphasis on the I. Or go with a EVGA G2, P2. or T2.

GoldForest got a reaction from Connor27 in Need advice on CPU
The 5820K build. Xeon's suck for gaming. The 5820K will render just as good, if not better, than the Xeon. I think it would be better with two more cores.
Changes to make to your build list:
CPU Cooler: 5820K runs hot, even for an air cooler. Go for at least a 120 AIO liquid cooler. Either a cooler master or corsair.240/280 would be best, but a 120 will cool it fine if you don't plan on OCing the CPU. If you are planning on OCing, go with either the H100I, H100I GTX, Seidon 240M, or Nepton 240M
RAM: Don't buy two different packs! If you want 32 gigs of ram, go for a 32 gig kit. Cheaper and it ensures compatibility with the other RAM sticks.
SSD: Go with Samsung 850 evo or pro
HHD: Go with Western Digital as they offer better performance than Seagate, imo. And I've heard Seagate's rep isn't all that good too.
Power Supply: EVGA all the way! Or a seasonic! Go for an EVGA B2, G2, P2, or T2 PSU, preferably G2 and up!
Edit: Didn't realize that you were in New Zealand so the ram is going to cost about the same as your two packs. But it is still better to go with a single 32 gig kit than 2 16 gig kits because they might not run good together. RAM packs are made to run together with the sticks that come together. If you put two different packs together, you could run into some issues.

Look up one of linus' build guides. He goes over pretty much everything in them.

No prob, also, you may want to add a CPU Cooler. Stock coolers aren;t that great. The Cooler Master 212 EVO is pretty good cheap air cooler and the Cooler Master Seiden 120m is a good cheap water cooler
