  1. I do have a windows machine but I don't really care much about that whole drag and drop thing, iTunes does it well enough for me (plus the whole Home Sharing thing has come in handy a lot). Thank you for the honest opinion though
  2. I like Android but I get what he's saying. He's not saying that because of me being used to iOS, it's just the whole ecosystem part.
  3. I don't believe that bypasses the iCloud lock, it only bypasses the lock on the lock screen. Not 100% sure but I think that's how it is. Either way, if you're sentimental about it just do as the other guy said, put it in a box with some stuff of his.
  4. Don't, just wait a couple of weeks after it's official release, otherwise you may be dealing with bugs, performance issues and whatnot.
  5. Hi. I found myself in a fantastic situation where I can have either the iPhone 6s, the 6s plus or the galaxy s7 edge, however, I'm finding it very difficult to choose between them (first world problems). I've been using my iPhone 4s for 4 and something years now and I absolutely loved it, this little critter didn't let me down anytime and has proven to be as sturdy as an old Nokia (no seriously, this thing took some punishment and is still living). Having said that, I'm used to iOS and the Apple ecosystem (the integration between the iPhone, the iPad and mac being the top point here). I recognise the advantages the s7 has, I love Android and its "open-ness" to tinkering and the free apps, plus the fantastic screen, camera and battery, however, the 6s has speed, camera (with better slo-mo), relatively good battery (worse but good nonetheless) and the whole integration with my mac and iPad. So basically, i want an opinion from people that have used these phones to see if I stick to an iPhone or if I make the switch to Android (as far as phones go). I don't, however, want fanboyism, I get it, some people use iOS while you use Android (or vice versa), doesn't mean one is stupid for using the one you don't, I want objective opinions to compare both fairly.
  6. Been looking to set up a home theatre for a while but space was always an issue, couldn't really find the right place to put everything to get the most out of the projector (cheapo one as well) so this would be absolutely fantastic
  7. How does this classify as programs, apps and websites? I suggested revisiting hackintosh and check if FCPX is still as efficient. I also suggested, in short, to check El Capitan and compare it to Yosemite.
  8. I know that title in this community is almost taboo (seeing as this a mostly windows and gamers community) but hear me out for a quick second. For those of us who are into video editing (whether that be professionally or as a hobby) there's been somewhat of a fuss lately about Final Cut Pro X. This came after tech youtuber Jonathan Morrison (https://www.youtube.com/user/tldtoday) made a response video to Linus' "can you edit 4k on a laptop/ultrabook" video, in which he perfectly edited a 4k video on that tablet without a touchscreen that is the 2015 MacBook, using FCPX, and then challenged Linus to see what was more effective on video editing. As far as I know Linus never responded to it. What I want to know is: does one have to fork over all that money to our Apple overlords if one wants the efficiency of FCPX or can the same be achieved with a custom built Hackintosh? This would also be a good opportunity to re-visit the subject of Hackintoshing (since the landscaped has changed somewhat since Linus' hackintosh video) and also to re-visit Mac OSX itself since the new update added a lot of features that "fixed" some of what Linus complained about. Just a quick side note: before some of you comment "don't buy apple" and etcera I just want to say that these questions are of pure interest, I have no intentions of getting a new computer, I'm more than happy with what I have.
  9. After playing around in this (formatting, reseting, fresh installs, etc) I managed to (somehow) fix the problem! Thanks to all that provided support nonetheless
  10. Interesting development: So I took out the GPU, and started cleaning the drives to do a fresh install of windows (gave up on the hackingtosh idea as I can't afford anything else going wrong). I install the MB drivers and just out of curiosity I shut it down, plug the GPU and turned it on. As usual the screen stays black, but then out of nowhere I'm in windows. No bios splash screen, no windows loading logo, nothing, just puts me in the login window. I'm at a complete loss over here.
  11. It does and as far as I'm aware it is. However with the GPU came two cables for power, however each split into two connectors (posting pictures below), so I thought they were backup cables for something and I didn't use them, using instead the ones from the PSU. The GPU The PSU connector I'm using The connectors it came with.
  12. So update on the whole ordeal: Reset everything, built it out of the case, still didn't work. Tested monitor, cables, etc. nothing. Removed GPU, nothinhg Reset CMOS without GPU and it booted. Re inserted GPU and no boot. Reset CMOS with Gpu, no boot. So....I'm guessing either the board has a problem on the connector or the GPU isn't working.
  13. Nevermind, now it won't boot with the GPU on
  14. I tested them both on an adapter to connect the MacBook to the monitor. Either way I did go get a third HDMI and still did the same. Now it booted after clearing the CMOS
  15. Looked up on how to reset the CMOS on this board. Just cleared the CMOS and it booted on to the BIOS. Not really clear on why the hell that worked but I'll see where it goes from here.
  16. Tested the monitor, works fine. I tried connecting through VGA and HDMI, the monitor doesn't detect a thing.
  17. Took it all apart, put it back up outside of case (just in case) and the problem remains.
  18. LED's turn on, fans start working, keyboard lights up (the scroll lock and etc leds) and monitor gets no signal. And it stays like this.
  19. There isn't one. I thought so too then I looked at the clock and it said it was going at 3,9GHz for some reason, even though I didn't oc.
  20. The pc is plugged in. Reseting as taking it apart and put it back together or..?
  21. So I built my pc last night, everything went smooth (or so I think) for a first build, it went to the BIOS just fine, checked everything, RAM was detected, GPU working, CPU at 40ºC, etc. With this build I wanted to dual boot between windows 8.1 and Mac OS X. Started to install Mac OS X, had some issues but eventually got there, installed windows, couldn't install drives as it didn't detect the Ethernet cable for some reason and at that point I thought I could finish it tomorrow and go to sleep. This morning I went to boot and not even the Gigabyte logo screen, nothing, monitor goes to sleep every time. Tried removing RAM one by one to see if one was faulty but still nothing, tried to use VGA and HDMI from the motherboard and HDMI from GPU, still nothing. I'm at a complete loss here, need help. Here are the specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X Gaming 3 Processor: Intel Core i5 4690K @3,5GHz Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury White 16Gb (2x8Gb) 1600MHz DDR3 HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1Tb 7200rpm SDD: Crucial BX100 250Gb GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX970 G1 Gaming PSU: XFX TS550W 80+Bronze Monitor: HP Pavilion 27cw (has two HDMI ports and one VGA) Case: NZXT Noctis 450 White
  22. Alright guys, thanks a bunch!
  23. I'm not sure about how much W I need for this build. I plan to oc the CPU. I was going for a 550W PSU but being a first time builder I'm not sure if that's enough (or too much for that matter) so I could use some insight. Here's the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WZ47jX
