  1. I also have a GTX 960 and recently picked up an Acer 144hz monitor. By cranking down settings in some games I am reaching quite high frame rates like in BF1 of almost 120 fps on mostly medium to high settings. I have seen a huge upgrade to 144hz I think it is a great option. If u want more screen real state also like me then just get a separate IPS panel to go next to it. I am really enjoying my IPS turned Portrait so that I can read or type really long docs then look to the right and game at high frame rates, it's glorious.
  2. Recently I've become bored with the traditional first person shooter genre of game. I'm really enjoying BF1 and will continue to play it frequently but I just need a change in scenery. Right now the new Need For Speed is $15 US on Origin which seems like a great deal. I loved these games on the PS3, but how is it on PC? For any people that have played it, did you get tired of it quickly? Also Doom is on sale on Steam for $20 also a great deal it seems like. I know that this is an FPS, but it is different from a COD or BF1 type game. However, from game play it seems like a very repetitive game. For people who have Doom did you get tired of it quickly? Thanks all!
  3. It does however have an extra hdmi port which is beneficial to me as I do not own any displayport monitors and would love to ditch my vga cable
  4. So definitely the cheaper of the two RX 480s is my best bet?
  5. At my local microcenter, they currently have an MSI GTX 1060 3gb on sale for $187.96, a Sapphire RX480 8gb for $231.96, and a Gigabyte RX480 8gb for $215.96. Which one is most worth buying? Personally the 1060 for $187 looks most appealing, bu what do you guys think?
  6. That's what I thought thanks! I'll maybe hold off until black friday and see what offers the best deal
  7. But the 1060 outperforms the 480 so if I found them for the same price I should go for the 1060 right?
  8. What do you mean will "work better with my cpu" would my i5 really bottleneck something like the 1060 enough to have to get a 480?
  9. And what graphics settings can u usually get in games?
  10. Hey guys I was wondering what would be a worthwhile upgrade for my GTX 960 2gb card. I am thinking about getting a 1080p 144hz monitor and want something that will run most games at high to ultra. So I've been looking at the GTX 1060 6gb, but is this a noticeable upgrade from the 960 and will it give me a good experience on a 144hz monitor? I realize something like the 980ti would be good for this, but that is also a little pricey; is there anything on the AMD side that could work? Also if I run games significantly below 144hz on the monitor will I experience any stuttering or anything like that? Thanks!
  11. I already have BF4 I just wanted to know between the two Fifa games sorry should;ve been made more clear
