  1. Thank you for your useful and edifying opinion! But all sarcasm aside, no need to post if you have no intention of taking the product seriously.
  2. IPS for good color reproduction. 4k for sharper images. You pick which is better for watching videos.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but $325 for a set of EL-8s is a pretty sweet deal for anyone who's looking into trying a pair of planars. http://slickdeals.net/f/9156739-audeze-el-8-open-back-planar-magnetic-headphones-with-mic-and-standard-cable-refurbished-324-99-w-25-off-200-masterpass-promo-fs-newegg
  4. How much cash do you have to spend on an upgrade? If you have <$300, just just a RX 480 or GTX 1060. You might hit a bit of bottlenecking, but it should still be fine. Especially if your goal is to just play games at 1080p. Otherwise, a new CPU would be a good investment for the future, but if you do that, I'm sure most people here would suggest getting an Intel CPU (at least until we see what AMD's got going with Zen), so you'd need a new mobo as well. Something like an i5 + any mobo for around $300 would give you enough headroom to get a much better GPU when you have more cash in the future. Kinda depends on what you need.
  5. Except that card still doesn't overclock any better than its cheaper counterparts... It just hits higher frequencies out of the box. Even in that review, they couldn't keep a stable 2.1GHz clock.
  6. Really no reason to get a 980ti unless you can get one cheap
  7. For 1080p (if you don't plan on upgrading for a while), a single GTX 1060 or RX 480 should suffice. As for a case, I'm a bit of a Fractal Design fan, since their cases are minimalistic and clean.
  8. I'm pretty sure the Nokia Lumia 1020 has the best camera (in terms of actual hardware). But not many people are willing to use a Windows phone, so...
  9. I believe Witcher 3 is at that price.
  10. Honestly, he's a troll. I love it :v
  11. This sounds about right. I don't think there's a single game that fully recreates realistic physics yet.
  12. Hey everyone, I'm deciding between the two headphones mentioned in the title. I found deals for both at $275 and $270 respectively. For anyone who's had the opportunity to listen to both, which would you recommend? I'm getting them for my dad, who primarily listens to, as Linus calls it, Top-40 trash. Also, what amps would go well with each? I'd say my budget is approx. $400, which leaves only about $125-130 for an amp (not much, unfortunately). I know the TH500RP needs a lot of juice to power, so even if I purchase them, would I be able to buy anything good enough with my budget? As for the HE-400i, would a budget dac/amp combo be fine since it's not that power hungry? (Something like the Fulla, SD793-II, or E10k) Any help and recommendations/suggestions appreciated!
  13. And even if you managed to get all the parts to fit, you'd run the risk of it all going up in smoke (cuz hot computer parts inside a bag that'll most likely be some type of fabric is a huge fire hazard).
  14. Or just put a laptop inside the bag and make holes for the ports But in all seriousness, I don't think that'll be possible. Making an ITX and mounting handles to that would be a much better idea.
  15. I was going to say "Why no 1080s"... And then I remembered Nvidia killed SLI.
  16. It seems that board-partner 480s will be about the same price as entry-level 1060s. Given that, I'd definitely call the 1060 a better purchase, unless you're planning on getting a 4GB variant of the 480, which won't keep up in some AAA titles above 1080p
  17. I'm looking to get a pre-owned HE-400i as a gift for my dad, and was deciding what amp to pair them with. I've heard the Magni 2 should be fine, but are there any other good options in the <$100 range? Or is there any budget DAC/amp combo (FiiO E10k, SMSL SD793-II, Schiit Fulla, etc.) that might be enough?
  18. Generally, you mouse DPI will be more accurate than your in-game sensitivity settings, so set something slightly higher than preferable on your mouse (I'd suggest somewhere between 1000 and 2000), and then tune down your OS & game sensitivity to whatever works for you.
  19. You'd probably want to stretch for a GTX 1080, if you have the cash. But considering the 1070's performance in 4k, you should still be able to hit 60 fps with it on 1080p surround @ high graphics on most games.
  20. Will it get bottlenecked by an RX 470 or GTX 960? Those are the best cards within your budget.
  21. *Original price of a new 970. Their prices are also dropping into the sub-$250 range... I'd personally go for a 1060 over a 980. Similar performance at a similar price, but the 1060 is newer (will perform even better once drivers mature), has more features, and has more vram.
  22. Yeah... Man, tough choices...
  23. Oooh, I'd completely forgotten EVGA has that as an option. Now I'm really tempted to get one...
