The 1303 on PCPP is the minimum revision needed to work. Go for the most recent though.

I do tend to agree with ASUS actually setting it that high out of the box though (at least at the time). AMD gave guidelines that 1.4V was safe, and ASUS just took their word for it. To be clear, their overall handling of the issue when it was deemed to be unsafe was bad, but it wasn't unreasonable for them to do that originally.

I do somewhat question the need for an X670E Gene in this system though. It's completely unnecessary for this type of system, with the main benefits of it being for extreme overclocking and running things like DDR5 8000+. If you're not doing that, a simple ~$150-200 mATX board will be more than adequate.

Just update to the latest BIOS 🙂
I have used the RAM you listed in multiple AM5 builds and its worked without any issues!

Thanks for the concern everyone. We are still in recovery mode over here and working with YouTube to get everything restored. Will hopefully have a video (or at least an update on WAN Show) to share with you all ASAP, but we want to make sure we get the details right since smaller channels may rely on our experience to help harden their own security.

Lifespan will be very short and the returns with that GPU probably will be lower than the power bill.

Well I had basically the same issue. I would get to the windows loading with the spinning circle and it would freeze. Couldn't for the life of me figure it out until I realized one of my sticks or ram was not fully in the ram slot. I don't know if it's the same issue for you but it sure sounds like it.

They perform basically the same and the NZXT one looks (arguably) better. Both companies offer options for 120mm, 240mm, and 280mm rads. Here is a list of the most modern offerings:
    120mm: NZXT Kraken x42     Corsair H80i v2
    240mm: NZXT Kraken x52     Corsair H100i v2
    280mm: NZXT Kraken x62     Corsair H115i

You certainly have no reason to believe my authenticity. I've been a contributing member of the community for some time...figured I'd see how the community would respond to such a break of information. I don't needlessly stir the pot...also personally interested, especially if someone else can corroborate this information in our own forum...that'd confirm a cat out of the bag.

I have just received word from a source I cannot name that IBM is preparing for a 2017 power play AGAINST silicon giant Intel in the storage and networking spaces.

In its competition against the likes of EMC, NetApp, Nimble, and Pure... IBM will be SHEDDING the high cost of integrated Intel-based processors and controllers in favor of smartphone insustry giant Qualcomm offerings. I tis no secret that All-flash and Adaptive Flash storage arrays are the new standard in enterprise market and this momentum surely fuels the decision by big blue to get as much pargin in this paradigm shift as possible before CACHE storage becomes the new standard sometime in 2018.

This has HUGE implication, as AMD also stands to wrench away a good chunck of the consumer market with their RYZEN (formerly Zen) product line in the next quarter.

    Thoughts? Concerns?

it's no secret that the server market has interest in the ARM platform. seeing the amount of power that EMC gear pulls i'd be interested to see what they can do with ARM.

that said, intel's going nowhere yet, they did just fine when IBM was still using their PowerPC, they'll survive without IBM as a custommer. while yes these IBM systems have a HUGE amount of processors in them, they are still only a small portion of the datacenter infrastructure and computer market as a whole.

besides at this point going ARM will basicly mean 100% custom software, which means that even if IBM would make all their gear ARM, chances are that the rest of the infrastructure they're wired into are still all x86 servers, where it's simply a back and forth between AMD and intel depending on who has the better platform that generation.
glad to see i'm not the only one. and seriously, if you've ever stood behind an EMC rack you'll understand why this is so obvious

That's fine but as someone mentioned, specifically saying you have invested on a public forum isn't a smart idea. Not being able to name the source and not being able to supply a source press release or public statement by IBM by it's nature implies that the information is confidential. Companies like IBM treat all information as confidential unless stated otherwise, and that is a very safe assumption to make.

If it isn't public knowledge that everyone can know about (at the same time) and you trade on it that is insider trading, stock market is supposed to be a fair playing field (not saying it is as that's the last thing I believe).

Don't worry about it too much. I do find the actual information of the topic interesting, just wouldn't have mentioned anything about stock trading is all.

I would have to think the SoC chips will have to be specially designed for the task as some storage tasks are very CPU demanding, like serving direct SMB/NFS. There are ways round that of course, use a 1U Intel based gateway to do that task and the Qualcomm chips in the back-end storage controllers.

Well, i would love to help, but it seems we haven't found
a surefire solution for this, as you can see in the previous
    similar thread.

It appears that your folding client is disconnecting for some
reason though, then it fails to connect again.

Check antivurses, firewalls and such, that you have made
all the exceptions necessary. Also try launching the client
    as admin.

When this happens you should be able to manually kill
all folding related tasks in the task manager, then just
re-launch the client normally, it should in principle connect
    again.

On the Skylake flatform, higher speed RAM has been show to make a minor difference, and in some rare cases, performance has sky rocketed with faster RAM, such as with Fallout 4 and Ryse Getting about a 35% frame increase from faster RAM alone.

For the small price premium of faster RAM, there's not much reason against it.

The Bios Tweaker utilities, as the name implies, allows you to hack the Bios and modify it freely. You can use it to allow the card to suck in more power, or increase the temperature cap at which the GPU starts to throttle. You can try pushing your voltages (and temps) even further with it.

However, if the card is unstable at a particular setting of clocks / voltages / temps, it will remain unstable, there's nothing to be done about it.
