Mattress's Achievements

  1. I went for the Asus S200E and it's perfect!
  2. I was actually thinking about an Asus Eee PC. I already have a G75vw, but it's way too big to use on the tiny desks in class.
  3. I'm looking for a laptop to take notes with in my college classes. I was considering a Chromebook, but I'm not totally sold on them. Under $350 15" and under Weight doesn't matter Thanks!
  4. http://www.seriousbit.com/netbalancer/ I've used it for a while. It breaks everything down.
  5. I picked up the completed build after boot testing in order to move it under the desk and I dropped it in the process. I bent the case, cracked the mobo (from the weight of the Cooler Master v8) , destroyed two brand new hard drives, and crushed my big toe.
  6. Oh and Diesel's real name is revealed in that vid too. 1:52 ;)
  7. I really enjoy the different perspectives of the guys. It just makes it that much better imo. Even though it is LinusTechTips, it's pretty cool to see other folks showing us stuff.
  8. Check out ETSU (East TN State University). They have a pretty sweet Digital Media Degree! http://etsudigitalmedia.com/curriculum/
  9. I bought an Asus G75VW in September and I absolutely love it. I threw in an Intel 520 180GB SSD, Win 8 Pro, and topped off the ram with Corsair 2 x 4GB Vengeance ram. I OC'd the 600m to 1084 MHz GPU Clock (stock 835) / 3150 MHz Mem (stock 2000).
  10. I was an AMD fanboy until I bought my Asus G75.
  11. Galaxy S3 on the Sprint Network. Love the phone hate the carrier.
  12. Amazon - Student Prime ftw. I try not to buy stuff from Newegg since I have to pay taxes. I have never bought stuff from NCIX, but I probably will in the near future. If I can find it at Best Buy, I buy it there.
  13. I have way too much crap on my desk. textbooks for reference, tons and tons of blank cds I never use, 5 hard drives, Asus G75, 2 cats, binders full of notes, 2 printers, speakers, lots of trail mix, 2 monitors, backup mouse & keyboard, and lots of post it notes.
  14. I am about to start my 4th semester of college as a Computer & Information Science: Programming major. I am currently working as an independent contractor for several local businesses doing everything from shopping cart CSVs to Web Design. After I obtain my Associates, I plan on working for a few years to save money in order to obtain my Bachelors. I currently have my TestOut PC Pro Certification, thanks to my Hardware & Support Professor. I would really like to just code all day, there is nothing more rewarding, albeit sometimes frustrating. A word to the recent HS grads/other college guys - Invest in some nice clothes, there's nothing impressive about someone wearing faded/torn jeans and sneakers. Trade the faded/torn jeans in for some dark jeans or slacks and the sneakers for some sweet chukka boots. As for the shirts, you cannot go wrong with a nice button up and a sweater/sweater vest/cardigan.
