  1. after a bit of googling I can't find one that works without being in windows. Can you recommend one?
  2. Unfortunately I dont have a spare drive lying around and it was working fine with windows 12 hours ago and was just working with linux mint. I'd certainly give it a shot if i had one around though.
  3. Whenever I try and install windows it crashes at the getting files ready for installation stage (Before installing features and after copying window files) Since it says the files are an issue I've tried using 2 different USBs, USB ports, ISO to bootable drive writers and have always used the official microsoft ISO. EDIT: I've been able to install linux mint but its not compatible with anything i want to play. I've got error messages such as: page fault in non paged area unexpected kernel mode crash error code: 0xC0000005 (Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation) error code: 0x8007025D (Windows cannot install required files. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation) I have no clue what to try next, please help.
  4. Thanks, made it much easier to find with proper terminology
  5. Looking for a device that can take an ethernet connection and output WiFi on the same network. After googling I've only found devices that can do the opposite.
  6. Going for it by myself, I'm getting the model ready now and I will build it in around 3 months, probably post a bit of a build log as well. Thanks for the help, I've done my research and I should be fine with a jigsaw, drill and some sandpaper.
  7. I have $500 AU max to build a custom PC case; it has to be full ATX and will use a lot of aluminium + a side panel. If there isn't a suitable manufacturer can anyone link me to a guide to build my own. I have no problem with putting hours of work into it as long as it's possible however I do not own any power tools or experience (but I know exactly what I want and it doesn't exist). The main thing I would be worried about is the motherboard tray, side panel window and PCI slot brackets.
  8. 1) not all people fill up storage so fast, I'm fine with 480gb he should be fine with 1TB. 2) the sealers are there only for listening out loud which OP isn't planning on doing much of, they won't get much use so they should be cheap but there. 3) ??? 4) the motherboard is better than the gigabyte ones and there is nothing wrong with a wifi adaptor 5) good idea, don't get free performance.
  9. I personally think that case has too much of a "gamer" aesthetic, and yes they have decent cases, all of corsairs products are decent they just aren't very good value.
  10. agree 100% their cases are overpriced, their PSUs are overpriced, their RAM is overpriced, their keyboards and mice seem expensive but I'm not too sure about that, yet they get no hate at all?
  11. My local store is having a sale on 120gb Sandisk SSD plus SSDs, they are Sandisk's lowest end SSD but on $55 AU, I was wondering if they were stable enough to put in a 2-3way raid 0 setup. I don't currently have any SSDs.
  12. not true, I have found nano its and pico itx which are both smaller than mini itx however they generally only support pentiums/celerons.
  13. I have a nice GPU heatsink lying around since I put a full cover block over it and I am in the market for a portable computer, I have found stuff like mini PSUs just can't get the motherboard and I think it would be cool to put a full system on a GPU.
  14. its not even that they are too big, they are just the wrong shape
