walwalka's Achievements

  1. It will work great, you won't notice any major bottleneck. However, building newer in the near future for things like sata 3, usb 3.0 and overall better performance.
  2. I guess I was a little vague, neither the 2.0 or the 3.0 ports work. EVEN in the pre-os boot environment to install windows. As in the back lighting on the mouse and keyboard are completely off.
  3. Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H With XHCI turned on(if I turn it off they work fine in 2.0 only) my usb don't even send power to my keyboard and mouse(or any other USB device) in either the OS or in the Pre-os boot to install it windows 7 and 10. But they work in the bios because they is all EHCI controlled. They also work in safe mode, but not safe mode with networking. Do we think the intel usb controller is gone?
  4. Asus has been bombing hard here in the US with CS. My company is a larger distributor of Asus and we are contemplating dropping them for MSI and Gigabyte.
  5. Is it possible that this is based on battery tech that is awful? Rather than the laptop companies themselves? Also that is larger based on model. lenovo w540 with an i7 4930mq runs at almost 100% 8+ hours a day rendering and encoding. Not a single overheating problem... I love and have had no problems with any of my razer products. Maybe it's you.
  6. They probably aren't slow on a machine level, they are probably slow to boot because of a shit group policy structure they are running.
  7. I was the Sysadmin for a school district for 3 years until march of this year, I'll tell you a little story about school districts. Most of the people in charge don't know nor care about technology and what it can bring to the classroom. Budgets are very small in most cases, my district had around 2000 students and my tech budget for the year was $75,000 USD. This was used to upgrade PCs, projectors/bulbs, things that broke, interactive projectors/smartboards buy software licensing and add PC/iPad for the kids to use. budgeting comes from how many students and families in the districts area, and what is bad about is that the more tax paying people there is in the area the LESS money the school gets from federal funding. A lot of times levies do not get passed so the school has to resort to higher school fees to fund itself. It's very hard for schools to even AC their buildings(if they are older), let alone replace PC's every three years. The problem is that kids like to mess with things and that is what screws them up. We took the policy that if YOU the student broken something and it was still usable(DVD drive rubber bands) we were not replacing it and you still got punished.
  8. I'm 25 years old, been doing school since I was 20 part time up until this come semester. I go to the University of Akron and major in Information Systems management. I'm a full time student with a full time(40 hours a week) job, I'm a desktop support/junior SCCM admin. It's been a long drawn out process, but in the end I will have an associates in Microsoft Network and the Bachelors in Information Systems Management. I live in an apartment with my soon to be wife, drive a 2010 honda civic.
  9. On my 4790k I can have almost a 10c difference between the cores from time to time. What I decided was that 60c was the highest I want the CPU to ever see, bought the appropriate cooler to do so. typically with my h100i gtx under full load I see 58c at the highest.
  10. Small case? I don't consider the 540 to be "small" It also has boat loads of air flow... 24c idle(cpu), 33c idle(GPU(remember the fans don't spin under 60c on this card)), 55c Full load on the cpu, 62c full load on the gpu. That's not overly hot.
  11. AMD Athlon X2 3800+ 4GB DDR 400 Biostar 6100 board Ati x1600 512mb Hipro 580 power supply Random case
