  1. Small part update: Lian Li Lancool II Mesh RGB+ type C 120 Be Quiet Straight Power 12 1000W 216 Crucial MX500 SSD 4TB 250 G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB DDR5-6000 CL32-38-38-96 266 AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 550 ASRock B650E Taichi Lite 24+2+1 Power 332 (has 1 PCIe 5.0 x16, 1 PCIe 4.0 x16, 1 NVMe gen 5, 2 NVMe gen 4)
  2. So if i understood correctly if i get a quality b650 mobo (steel legend / rog strix or the high ends from MSI) and pair it with a 7950x i will be good in terms of performance? I will be overclocking, quite a bit, so good quality mobo is a top prio for good VRM cooling. Im also looking at the power phases to make sure that even the b650 i get will have 14+2+2 which if i recall correctly is very good. Now about the PCIe gen discussion, since gpus are yet to catch up and my own is gen4 afaik all b650 have 1 x16 slot and 1 gen 5 m.2 slot plus 1-3 extra gen 4 so by that info i will be fully F-worded for lets say the next 4 years. The primary question was if i needed to go explicitly to a x670 for no performance loss due to the b650 "chipset", if i understood correctly your post above i should be fine performance wise
  3. I will have 1 gen 5 nvme at best and since im sticking with the 6900XT i might not even need the full x16 slot lmao. So going B650 (supports 1 x16 slot and 1 gen 5 nvme) wont affect the 7950x performance? Im aiming to find the tightest i can but not pay more than 300- 350 euros and prices here are a bit all over the place Sadly i checked but could not find any as for now At the workplace i get crucial ssds (they are somewhat cheap and never had one fail on me) but for home (and by extension my side gigs) i prefer samsung/WD (seagate ironwolfs for my server) as well but stay away from WD blues since the one i own now had sector errors (after 5-6 years 3 of them i had my OSs on)
  6. Budget (including currency): Its for work so i might wait a bit longer and give it more money Country: Greece Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Flutter compiling, model fine tuning, gaming @ 1440p (cp2077,apex etc) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So, my current setup has a 5500 R5 paired with a kraken x73 likely to move to the new build as well, RX 6900XT (which im transfering to the new build), 750W corsair PSU, 1 nvme gen4 2TB which will transfer too and some extra HDDs and SSDs which will come along. (full future/past part lists below) So since im aiming for a more programming oriented build i need cores and at high hz. Im between the 7900x and the 7950x and i would like to combine it with a x670 mobo. First of all, will i see a good uplift with the 7950x? and would it be better to go with a B650 mobo? since im moving 1 gen4 ssd and maybe aquiring a second gen5 later i might not need all the extras of the x670, would that affect the CPU performance? Note i will likely fully watercool it in the future, dual 360 rads gpu block and cpu block rest of the part list (current prices): Lian Li O11 Air Mini 160euro Be Quiet Dark Power 13 1000W 287euro Samsung 870 QVO SSD 4TB 301euro Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 6000 272euro (if you have other recommendations im open for it) AMD Ryzen 9 7900X/7950X 416euro ASRock X670E PG Lightning 271euro OLD CPU R5 5500 Stock Motherboard AsRock B450M-HDV v4.0 RAM G.Skill 32GB DDR4 @ 3400MHz GPU MSI Gaming Trio Z 6900XT @2800Mhz (repasted with Kryonaut Extreme) (WILL TRANSFER TO NEW) Case Thermaltake Core V21 Custom White Paint Storage WD_BLACK SN770 2TB (WILL TRANSFER TO NEW) ,1863GB Western Digital WDC WD20EZRZ-00Z5HB0, KINGSTON SA400S37480G 480GB (WILL TRANSFER TO NEW) PSU Corsair RMe 750 Cooling NZXT Kraken X53 (WILL TRANSFER TO NEW)
  7. When installing the drivers did you uninstall the previous ones with DDU or just installed the AMD ones?
  8. an i5 6500 is around 65W and 1050s tend to come without a 6/8 pin powercable requirment (except some 1050Tis like the ROG Strix) so more or less it should draw 40-70W from the PCI slot, so that would take us to around 150W (its 135 but lets leave some head room). Lets assume you have 2-3 HDDs (3.5" Hard Disk Drive HDD 6.5 to 9 W) so another 27W plus lets say you have 2 140mm fans (120 mm Case Fan (2,000 RPM) 3.6 to 6 W), another 12W. Total should be 190W (189W). I believe you will be fine, but red lining it a bit, but should work. You can risk it, but i would look into another PSU, maybe something like a 300W. Please let me know how many HDDs/SSDs and fans you have. maybe we can calculate it more precisely
  9. : (( well is the boosted core used or another? I dont have anymore guesses sorry
  10. You might need to enable CSM which is a compatibility setting, but you will be losing Resizable Bar support. Tho i am not aware that you need SB to play valorant, i would disable it and try to play it and see if there are problems
  11. Hello, I would go with this for 6K inr personally link, which is a corsair unit and i have only good expiriences with the brand, its also 750W For a more budget solution you can see this one for 3.6k inr link which is a coolermaster ( pretty known brand ) and its 550W which should be enough for you Or this one from corsair link at 3.4k inr but its 450W which maybe be a stretch but should be fine for an i3 and a 6400 quote from the AMD website "the AMD website that the recommended Power supply is 350 watts for the RX6400"
  12. overclocking doesnt neccesarly mean more noise, i have made a """Eco"""" profile for my 6900XT which not only goes to 2,7GHz but also consumes 12% less power and has 10-14 less degrees just because of extreme undervolting. To give you some context i can reach 2.815Ghz at 333W and 92C TJmax on my "turbo" setting while the "Eco" is 2.68GHz, 290W and 79C TJmax with similar performance in games
  13. I believe he is running with OC, would you like some help overclocking your GPU?
  14. Is the CPU thermal throttling? Also are you able to raise the watts of your chip?
  15. Here's a comparison i found on a website Based on this, if you are comfortable overclocking ( which should not be too hard, amd CPU are pretty easy to overclock ) its a good small upgrade
  16. Small tip, i would not go for a Gigabyte gpu ... actually anything gigabyte i have had only bad experiences with that brand i would go with this one https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/graphics-cards/amd/97127-dual-rx6750xt-o12g same price and actually better since its the 6750XT, its on sale while stocks last i would actually drop everything and run now to get it lmao
  17. sadly i dont know much as well, maybe someone can enlighten both of us. If it was my PC i would leave it alone for a bit and if it started to make more noise i would contact the manufacturer for either an explanation or a replacement if its something "important" Anyhow, i dont believe its anything too serious, i had a CX corsair do a weird noise sometimes, corsair said it was nothing, after 1-2 months it stopped completly lul edit: the noise stopped the PSU is alive and well xD
  18. Just saw the paypal thing, sadly i wont be taking your money i cant accept it but thanks : ) I would take a mark as solution tho : ) And you are more than welcome my friend
  19. Hmm, does the fan of the PSU run? Maybe its that. Other than that i dont know : ( > this much quieter pop isn't audible unless my ear is against the grate maybe its normal? if its THAT little of a noise MAYBE its normal, but dont take my word for it
  20. Wait a second, your GPU doesnt seem to be in the top slot. Am i seeing this correctly? If yes, can you slot it on that one and see if there is any difference?
  21. 1. Sometimes large PSUs have "large" relays and top end PSUs have quality ones as well which make a sound when "opening", i had the same "issue" with my RMe PSU 2. Could you record the sound?
  22. Have you tried updating your BIOS? Usually those instabilities get resolved by just updating the BIOS
  23. are these from a stress test or gaming load?
