WaterproofBeanie reacted to Pooherino ツ in Best power Supply for Define R5 ?
any psu will fit in the define r5. I would suggest EVGA G2 850w

WaterproofBeanie reacted to Lord_Karango17 in Should I paint my (new used) Power Supply?
If you do, just be careful not to go prodding at the inductors and stuff. You probably already know what can happen, but considering Linus was able to do it, you should be fine.

Yes, I agree. This seems a bit vague and can lead to "patent trolling"

so what are they patenting if its the bootloader then i would understand but if they are patenting the idea then wtf microsoft
-
WaterproofBeanie reacted to othertomperson in Microsoft applies for patent on multi-OS smartphone
How is this an idea you can patent? Does this mean that Ubuntu and Mozilla won't be able to offer their phone OSes as dual boot options?
If I were making the leap for a different phone OS, I would absolutely want to trial it first. -

WaterproofBeanie reacted to The Benjamins in Oculus Rift will cost more than $350
I was also thinking of this for non VR games. so you can simulate a 3 x 27" screen setup with out needing the GPU power, and all the screens. think of a RTS/top down MODA were to look around the map by just moving your head. I really hope we can get this kind of virtual desktop support. maybe even have a legacy mode were it make your PC think its a just a normal 3 screen setup and oculus handles the rest.

WaterproofBeanie got a reaction from bobhays in Which do you prefer? One really good graphics card or two half as good.
If the performance of the dual-card setup is exactly equal, then buy the single card. If it is less powerful, buy the single card. If it is more powerful, then it is up to you whether it is worth the loss of expansion capabilities.

still waiting on the official specs of it. may want to pick it up.
i would like to see a virtual desktop for it, were if can simulate a 3 screen set up for your desktop by moving your head around.

As a couple of other people mentioned, the GTX 970 is not as good as the r9 390.

Linus had said company almost died once.
and the new office really hit their bank account.

WaterproofBeanie got a reaction from Tech_Dreamer in What was the Most Easiest & the most Toughest Component(s) You had to Pick While Building Your PC?
For my current build:
Easiest: CPU/MOBO/Memory - Second hand from my parents old computer
Mid: Storage/PSU (friend had them, so I bought those. Not necessarily what I would have bought myself)
Hardest: Case and Graphics Card

WaterproofBeanie got a reaction from GauntletV2 in Ultimate itx Build vlog, Linus Pls?
Yeah, but if I am going to build a mITX system, then for me it is either sitting under my television as a 'console', under my monitor as a 'monitor stand' or a lan rig. I don't see the point of the shoebox style shape. I would much rather have a flatter, longer case.

Got another update for you guys!
Some vinyl work for the rads and fans as well as finished some of the acrylic panels.
The vinyl work is based on the Elite Dangerous game, that's actually the emblem from the game. Think it looks really cool on the fans and rads.
Had to do a lot of fans!
I would stick the whole thing and then peel out the bits not needed. Pretty easy but time consuming.
This panel is the bottom front panel.
Some MNPCTECH mesh, will look awesome behind the panel once painted.
Front bottom and top as well as back bottom acrylic panels mostly done!
MNPCTECH mesh and grills painted black.
And the case frame is back from powder-coating. Also bottom rads are in!
Pump/res combos as well as the PSU are mounted.
And did some cable management for all the 16 fan cables coming from the bottom up into the top section of the case! I used four 1 x 4pin extension cables to turn the 16 fan cables into just 4 and these will connect straight to the Thermaltake fan controller at the front of the case. Thanks a lot to Performance PCs for helping out with these fan extension cables.
That's it for now!
Thanks for checking it out!
Cheers,
Alex
