Pretty sure that from what I saw during cablemods sponsor spot during the last WAN show the endpieces come seperately. So nothing holding you back from shortening the sleeves to fit your AIO.

OC→JoinLinusMediaGroup reacted to Lurick in upgrade from gtx1070
At 60Hz I wouldn't bother upgrading. A 1070 is more than enough at that resolution.
If you were doing 1440p at 144Hz then I would say consider the 1080Ti

That's... worse.
Anything glossy = dust magnet.
I'd pay $30 for it and another $10 for a can of paint. The vertical GPU mount and PSU basement pretty much make it worth more

OC→JoinLinusMediaGroup reacted to You_are_a_cunt in Cheap Korean Case
That actually doesn't look half bad. Except it's white.
I kinda want one

interior looks nice but I don't like that glossy front panel. Thus, I don't think it has good airflow from front, but worth $30.

compare the PCB. If the board length are same, GPU die, VRAM and VRM are on the same place, then you can swap coolers with heatsinks.
If they don't look alike, then you will have to try take off the heatsinks from their cooler. Then put the Gaming's fan and shroud onto the Armor card's heatsink. Once you're done, install it to the Armor card.

i wouldn;t use your old 970 cooler. the board designs are different, so there's a good chance the cooler won't be cooling all components that need it.
you could look into some of arctic's offerings. their accelero coolers are very good, even if they are a bit ugly

OC→JoinLinusMediaGroup reacted to Zando_ in future for mining
The mining craze will die soon, so you won't get a very good ROI. Het the 2x 1070, since then you can mine, but then game once mining is no longer profitable. Personally, I'd dump the mining and just get a 1080 To for gaming.

OC→JoinLinusMediaGroup reacted to Jurrunio in Need Help, for new GPU
It seems that your option are down to used stuff then. Maybe a 980ti for each system. All these new cards cost about 200usd more than in US. Overpriced by a LOT

It won't plug in in reverse and even if it did I wouldn't try it; that could overload the GPU. 650w is cutting it really close though, to the 620.

It will cost the same for a **80 as a 980 cost at launch, after all, they still have to sell GPU's. They won't raise the price a ton or lower the price a ton. Same for the **70, **60, **80, ect. A **80 will have a performance bump over the 980, a **70 more powerful than the 970, ect. They also wont make something like a **60 as powerful as a 980, that would be stupid.
I wouldn't get something as slow as a 750ti. You won't have much fun in games if you're stuck at medium settings. I would get a nice GPU (like the 280x) or get a Fury and immediately start saving up for a new GPU. You could also go a bit slower and get a 390x, that will take whatever you throw at it for quite some time. 390x now, Pascal/Arctic Islands later.

AMD Polaris might be coming out before pascal. If you've been following the news AMD has already showcased Polaris but some recent news suggest pascal silicon hasn't even been developed! You might be waiting for September or later for pascal. Polaris could be out by summer. As well I wouldn't put your bets on nvidia, as we have no idea yet whether Polaris or pascal will be better, though AMD already demoed Polaris having some amazing power efficiency. If you want a next ten gpu I would wait and see what each company will have to offer, then make your choice on Polaris vs pascal.

OC→JoinLinusMediaGroup reacted to W-L in GTX970 AOI WC MOD
If you want the cleanest look bracket 3 would be the best in terms of stock GPU with say any of the Asetek AIO's
-
OC→JoinLinusMediaGroup reacted to W-L in GTX970 AOI WC MOD
The bracket would be good since it exhausts the heat from VRM and such directly out of the case but may not cool as effectively say like the G10 which is more open air, though the VRM is only a small portion of heat output compared to the GPU core.

I'd rather Paint the dominator platinum bars white with plastidip then watercool them, but watercooling is cooler
