CA tax kinda kills it For those in CA, you can use Jet (I'm not sure if they're reliable or not, but people seem to recommend it) and use 15now, waive free returns and 1.2% off if you use a visa card. That'll make it roughly the same as the newegg deal without having to deal with tax.

Only problem is that G sync 1440p IPS monitors are well over your budget :\

Open boxes are from people who usually return the monitor because they either don't want it anymore or it had some problem. So it's up to you if you want to take the gamble. Personally, I'd buy it new from Amazon just to save myself from the headache of dealing with newegg if something goes wrong.

Funny story, I did do that before. It was a temporary case because Amazon ran out of S340s. It was only in there for a day.

The S2415h goes for $180 usually. Another alternative would be the u2414h like the others have said.

Ikea Markus or you could find a second hand Herman miller Aeron for ~200-300. Another option would be to go to an office store and try the chairs out in person because it ultimately goes down to personal preference.

I have a similar story to yours as well. I got a logitech g502 for free on top of the one I ordered for my friend because of a really minor screw up from USPS. Amazon Customer support is amazing.
