  1. I wonder, Is it possible to auto backup photos and videos from mobile devices to these custom built NASes (Freenas/Rockstor) Thanks
  2. Interesting So can I can build a simple small ITX based PC and transform it into NAS? There are so many questions regarding this option. 1) Is it safe to do it without ECC? 2) Which OS should I use ? 3) Do I need as specific mobo or any mobo with RAID controller? 4) well this is not a question, but I hope it wont be expensive though
  3. I considered this option I must say. But I need an ECC memory based hardware, its not cheap out here, Is there a right way to do it ? any best practice tips ?
  4. Hi guys, I'm planning on getting one of these NASes for home use, what is important to me is media backup and playback(local files only, not PLEX). 1) I need this to run as RAID 5 to backup my pics and movies right out of 3 phones.(Cloud like auto bakcup) 2) Run a movie from 1 or 2 tablets within the network , in a very rare manner, not very often. 3) I live in Israel and the prices(USD$) are as follows: asustor AS-1004T = 340$ QNAP TS-431P = 420$ WD My Cloud EX4100 = 490$ asustor AS3204T = 530$ Please advise, Many thanks
  5. When I'm trying to investigate why, I see whole lot of handles from type "Semaphore" with no other details, what could it be ? I've restarted the PC and after 8 hours this is what I got, it keeps on going up ofcourse: C:\WINDOWS\system32>handle -p lsass.exe -s Nthandle v4.1 - Handle viewer Copyright (C) 1997-2016 Mark Russinovich Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com Handle type summary: ALPC Port : 118 Desktop : 1 Directory : 2 EtwRegistration : 149 Event : 245 File : 30 IoCompletion : 4 IRTimer : 8 Key : 147 Mutant : 2 Process : 78 Section : 2 Semaphore : 16710 Thread : 9 Token : 328 TpWorkerFactory : 4 WaitCompletionPacket: 95 WindowStation : 2 Total handles: 17934 And after 10 hours : C:\WINDOWS\system32>handle -p lsass.exe -s Nthandle v4.1 - Handle viewer Copyright (C) 1997-2016 Mark Russinovich Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com Handle type summary: ALPC Port : 115 Desktop : 1 Directory : 2 EtwRegistration : 158 Event : 252 File : 30 IoCompletion : 4 IRTimer : 8 Key : 147 Mutant : 2 Process : 81 Section : 2 Semaphore : 19650 Thread : 16 Token : 544 TpWorkerFactory : 4 WaitCompletionPacket: 95 WindowStation : 2 Total handles: 21113 Please note that I also unable to use the windows debugging tools on lsass.exe "access is denied"
  6. Windows batch scripting is the easiest and most strait forward. Advanced option is powershell. Other than that , Python/Perl will be useful on other Operating systems as well.
  7. I'm unable to wake my PC using WOL, here are the details: 1) I'm trying to WOL a PC from another PC inside the same network. (Both Wired) 2) I have msi gaming 5 Z97 mobo and the Wake Up configurations is set to OS rather than BIOS 3) I set the killer Ethernet inside windows to wake up only using "magic packet" on both of "advanced" and "power management" tabs 4) I opened WOL Monitor and made sure that the packet reaches the PC 5) I got the interface's MAC address 6) I put the PC to sleep, made sure that the Ethernet led on the router is still up 7) I opened WOL Gui on the other PC and tried to wake it up , but nothing happens Please advise, what I'm missing ?!
  8. As much as I know, Kraken has 1 driver for each ear and it's a virtual 7.1 experience. SO, I think that you are referring to the Tiamat 7.1 instead, which in fact do have 5 drivers for each ear. P.S , my friend have Kraken 7.1 and I have Tiamat 2.2 , we both say that our Razer headsets are crap, So I dont thing that I'm going to but anything from Razer soon. (I hate my Deathstalker keyboard as well)
  9. Hi guys, I'm looking for the best 7.1 as real as possible headset for gaming. I want to be able to clearly determine the location of the objects in game, is it above me ? below me ? right front ? right rear ? every location which can be determined by audio is important. P.S I'm currently using Razer Tiamat 2.2 headset which I do not like.
  10. I actually love that, and especially Phil Spencer's strategy of buying a title once for both. (I think that would be a great move, maybe because I care less of exclusives by being a PC gamer primarily )
  11. I got XBONE for me and the kids in addition to my PC , that's completely fine to have a console along with the PC. I would choose the PS4 over the XBONE if it was for me only. But I'm finding the XBONE more suitable for a family use rather than the PS4 which is more of an adults console. *That's my opinion based on my research only.
  12. 720P Resolution on Low details should get at least 45 FPS
  13. Your CPU Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-1620 have a TCASE of 64.0 °C TCASE is : Case Temperature is the maximum temperature allowed at the processor Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS). Get a better cooling
  14. http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/corsair-h100i-gtx-review,10.html @ 4Ghz under volted it does sound not normal You said that with H100i you got about 10C lower and once you got this H100i GTX it got worse, right ? By that, and adding the fact of getting new CPU, I really do suspect that your new H100i GTX is the culprit here
  15. Yes you can, but unlike windows , Linux have a different way to do so. In windows pro/ent edition you have RDP server built in, but if you have windows home edition then you might need a third party software for that. (SSH is an option too by installing it separately) Well, the same goes with Linux, But instead of having RDP built in, on a linux server (Not desktop version), you have SSH (terminal) enabled as part of the system, and in case you want UI support, you need a third party software, teamviewer for example, and sometimes you need to install the UI component separately as well.
