I want to get a new monitor as my current one is 1080p@60hz and doesnt seem to fully utilize the power of my gtx 970. However I'm not sure what to get.
I would like a 144hz monitor as i mainly play competitive multiplayer games like League of Legends or CS:GO, but i also like single player games very now and then. My choice here would be the BenQ xl2420g that Linus reviewed in one of his videos as it seems to be a very nice monitor. 1440p on the other hand is also very tempting however im not sure if my gpu can handle it.
So what would give me the better gaming experience? 1080p@144hz or 1440p@60hz? Also would g-sync be worth the extra price and would it help remove the stuttering when my framerate drops below 60 fps occasionally?
