It contains the coils that create alternating induction currents to charge your phone. If it's like my phone (LG G4), it supports Qi wireless charging but you have to have a case or phone backing that has the wireless charging coils in them. Otherwise it won't work. Not sure if the Xperia Z3 works the same way though.

Ha, "gaining an advantage in Call of Duty".

Ping is responsible there, not bandwidth.

And in all honesty, it's the high ping people that gain the advantage. Laggy people are hard as heck to hit in any online game.

At least I can now download games, watch videos and steam music all at the same time without affecting my ping while gaming so...it's not that bad I guess

Let's be honest, The Division is one of the best games out right now! With some time to kill and parts that need a home, I decided to give myself a challenge (not to say that Project Ravage wasn't a challenge) and do a case mod. The system will be orientated around the game so i'm going with a black and orange theme build which will also be watercooled to keep things nice and cool. That's really all I have to say, hope you guys enjoy and make sure to click follow next to the title to stay updated

http://kotaku.com/5871156/the-tekken-figure-of-your-pin...   I've finally made my mind up on a few things, and whilst I don't have the Thermaltake case yet (delays from supplier) I have actually managed to get started.   I've decided to keep the RoG Front Base for the Asus Ranger Motherboard. Now as the case is going to be sprayed white, I figured I should make the front base as white as possible:     First thing I need to do was get the knob off (no puns!) what a pain in the rear this was, but eventually it came off allowing me to fully strip down the electrics from the case/cover:     Once that was stripped I went out and picked the brightest white I could find which is useable on both plastics and metal. Once the screen was masked up I got to work with the primer:           I've finished applying the top coat now, i'm going to let it dry over night, check for runs and hopefully remove the tape tomorrow evening, by which time I should know if the case is in stock at Scan   Got the RoG Front Base fully painted and re-assembled:         UPDATE   So today the Thermaltake case arrived and oh boy, its big!         I took a picture of it here on my desk in between an Antec 902 and a Zalman case, both are mid towers, but it does show the scale of the Core X9.     Heres a few pictures of the case before I stripped it down for painting:         Top view with cover removed and rad/fan mounts still fitted:     Motherboard tray:     PSU Area (one of two!)     Front lower and drive cages, I won't be using these in my mod unless I need 6TB in the future : )     And here is the stripped frame, when they said this was modular they weren't joking!       I have started painting the internal parts of the case and the front mesh, I really under estimated how much paint I would need to do this, however heres some progress:   Front fully painted     PSU Blank/Grill     selection of other parts:     well it's been a late one, just the 3 external panels remain to be sprayed    Transferred the 200mm Red Fan from my Antec 902 mod to use in the front of this one.     Here's some pics of things so far:
    UPDATE 15th Feb 2015
So I finally got around to finishing the painting today, I had the roof and side panel to paint and a few imperfections to address. So now I can say that the case is fully painted, now need to work out where I want to placed the 2x 360mm radiators and whether or not to go push or pull with the fans:

It looks like it's made from really cheap "chrome" plastic, and the edges seem really roughly finished and don't line up properly. A nice brushed aluminium case would look much better IMO.

Pushing passive cooling to the limit

    The vision

    The build

    The heat

After I could gain experience with my first passive build with a TDP of ~250 watts (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/342534-finished-full-passive-powerful-workstation-gaming-rig-who-said-it-cant-be-done/) I'm building an even more insane system. It will be the ultimate passive build because it's the best I can achive with the current technology without going absolutely crazy. And with crazy I'm mean something like using two PSUs, more than 50 kg of heat sinks or something along thos lines.

The most powerful fanless PSU aviable nowadays is the Enermax Digifanless 550 watts, with a peak power of up to 605 watts (one minute). Under this power envelope I will fitt:

    - CPU: i7-4790K (90 watts)
    - GPU:  2x EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 in SLI (380 watts)
    - MoBo: Asrock Z97M OC Formula (15 watts)
    - RAM: G.Skill Trident X 32GBytes, DDR3-2400 (10 watts)
    - SSD 1: Intel 750 PCI-E, 400 GB (25 watts)
    - SSD 2: Samsung Evo 512 GB in M.2 format (5 watts)
    - HDD 1: 3 TBytes WD Red (10 watts)

The HDD can turned on and off with a switch and will only used for back-ups. I'd love to get rid of a HDD, but it's silly to make back-ups on a SSD and it will be hardly ever turned on.

As you can see the maximal power draw is around 535 watts and very close to the limit of 550 watts. But in normal operation it's very unlikely to push all components at the same time. For peak power draw I have a buffer of 75 watts, what I can feel comfortable with.
Thankfully the PSU has a very high build quality (it it also very expensive, but never cheap out on the PSU) and I can measure the load and temperature in real time.
EDIT: The measured peak load pulled from the PSU is about 510 watts.

Now I made sure the PSU don't blew up, I have to get rid of the heat somehow. The upper temperture limit for me is about 80°C with a max. room temperature of 30°C. As a result I have a temperature difference of 50°C to play with. So it's time for number crunching and it turned out I need three heat sinks of 400x300x84 mm, 12 kg each. So I designed the system around them.

    More renderings:

The system has a size of 384x384x403 mm. Nearly a perfect cube.
And it will weigh ~50 kg!

This time I tried to use less heat pipes. They are fine, but quite expensive. Therefor I mounted the GPU directly to the heat sinks using a copper heat transfer plate.

Also I will use peltier elements as a thermoelectric generator by takeing advantage of the Seebeck effect!
I know the efficiency is only ~1%, but it's just for fun. Because of the low heat conductivity I can't mount the elements directly on the CPU/GPU, so I will mount them on the big heat sink on the front (hot side) and cool them with the two smal heat sinks on each side. Therefor I can only expect a smal temperature difference (5 - 10 °C estimated), so I will get an oper circuit voltage of 50 - 300 mV per modul. Since I'm useing cheap 3 euro peltier modules I have no information about the thermoelectric generator characteristics.
But since I'm useing 10 modules and a low power LED needs only ~2 mW (1,8 volt, 1mA) I'm pretty confident I can at least illuminate some LEDs.
When the final measurements shows that I'm able to harvest >= 600 mW, I could even charge my smartphone on a slow rate (5V, 100mA) useing a boost converter.

Now lets roll out the build log:

    Featured Build Logs

    Alright guys here it is!

We will now have a Feature Build Logs competition which will be held approximately monthly, timing based on submissions. Winners will be featured on the WAN Show and get a fancy badge.

Look for a "submission" thread that will be pinned in the Build Logs section while submissions are being accepted. Also, look for a "voting" thread that will be pinned in the Build Logs section while voting is active.

    Basic Rules

1 - Only submit your own build log. You cannot submit if you have won in the past three months.
2 - Your build must be completed. Do not submit "In Progress" builds.
3 - Description cap of about 200 words.
4 - Do not include specs, please have a detailed list of specs in your actual Build Log thread.
5 - Please do not re-submit a Build if it is currently being voted on. If it doesn't win, you can re-submit on the next submission thread.
6 - Please do not use the attachment function for your images. Attachments don't get ported between posts, so when we make the voting thread, this makes things rather difficult. Instead use image tags like so: [img=http://url.to/your-image.jpeg]

ALL SUBMISSIONS IN VIOLATION OF ANY OF THESE RULES WILL BE IGNORED

    Process

Accepted submissions will be moved to new a "voting" version of the thread. The top voted system will be featured on the WAN show or in the after party. One other submitted system will also be picked by the staff (Linus, Slick and Mods).

    Template

SUBMISSIONS WHICH DO NOT STRICTLY ADHERE TO THIS TEMPLATE WILL BE IGNORED

Please only post one picture, and try and make it a good one, capturing the essence of your build. J
