  1. My prof wants me to include NB frequencies and all of that crap. I realize it's all depending on the hardware, which is why I was asking here. Assuming someone has the board and they'll know the relative frequencies or power draw for base components and I can bs the rest.
  2. Hey all! I'm in college and I have to do a project where I have to build a PC and provide wattages and what-not. All kinds of voltages and stuff. I've decided to use the Asrock B550 Steel Legend mATX mobo for a small form factor build, but I can't seem to find voltages, power consumption, anything actually technical about the motherboard. I have the owner manual, and I've checked probably 10 review sites as well as Newegg and Amazon. I'd really appreciate it, if anyone has a link to where I can find the actual wattages and power consumption for the Mobo, or if you have the mobo and you happen to know those specs. Either one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  3. Thank you so much. I've been having a 3 core 6 thread issue... but after doing this, after restart I had all 12 threads. So deleting devices can help, especially if you change cpus
  4. I definitely want the blade! I need a computer for schooling and with some kick to it for light gaming until I get home to the rig.
  5. Currently have a R9 290 Sapphire card. I want to play VR games, and play other games at higher settings. So it would please me extensively.
  6. Realize this thread is old, just throwing my 2 cents in there. i5's can have Hyperthreading. My i5-2430m has hyperthreading. Dual core with hyperthreading.
  7. Was just talking to my wife about a new mouse! Couldn't decide, but you guys could totally decide for me! EDIT: if I had to choose though, Kiro. Currently I'm using a Microsoft wireless 5000.
  8. Unfortunately, they don't ship to the US. You get points for Immortal Technique though.
  9. Hello LinusTechTips friends. The laptop I'm currently typing on has basically pooped itself after 5 years. So I'm on the lookout for a portable gaming rig until I start putting my desktop together. So here are my needs, and I'm hoping someone has seen some deals going on, or knows a good place that will allow custom choices for a decent price. Needs: Quad core or greater cpu Built in graphics 2gb chip or better 8 - 16gb of RAM Wireless + Bluetooth capability 1080p resolution 17" screen. Trying to stay away from AMD cpu's for personal reasons, so intel is a must. Hard drive space isn't a big issue since I can install a new hybrid drive or hhd or ssd if I need to. Looking for good deals! I've scoured most websites that I know and haven't found a decent one with those specs for less than $1000 USD. EDIT: Also, no touch screen please.
  10. Lol, itachi... some people have a size complex I suppose? I'm used to gaming on a 17 inch laptop screen, so anything above that is gonna be an improvement.

  12. Okay, so what I've done at this point, is taken the coolest/best looking stuff for what I think would be a good gaming pc. From all of these options. I have an extra 400 dollars on my budget to spend on a graphics card.
  13. Haven't heard of Software Swap on Reddit, so I'll have to check that out. I'll probably end up going 24 inch monitor. The bigger the better right? lol. So Evo 212 is getting thrown on there as opposed to the water cooling corsair. Now, with a graphics card. A 290x was an option for me watching benchmarks and things like that, but it's only because I'm not entirely familiar with Nvidia, because I've been an AMD guy for the past 5 years.
  14. Looking into things for an entry level build, preferably 1080p graphics. Looking to get around 60 to 90 fps or higher. Mainly, I'm having trouble finding a decently priced graphics card, that will suit the build well. I planned on going with an MSI R9 390, but with current reviews and not much for driver support I think I'd rather go something safer until the next super card comes out. Anyway, this is my current build excluding the graphics card, if you guys have ideas for decently priced cards that will run most AAA games at 60+ fps, let me know. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6bqqf7 Also, I don't know of a decently priced Monitor that supports 1080p gaming or higher. So input on that would be helpful as well. Thanks for reading.
