  1. Hey guys. I've been having this problem ever since i built my own PC. The screen randomly flickers. I've used my monitor for a few weeks with my laptop and there was no issue. It's only when it's connected to my desktop. I recorded a video so you guys can see. I am guessing that it's probably my GPU but I have no idea what causes it and how to isolate the problem. Anyway, I hope you guys can help me. Thank you very much! Here are my specs: Intel i7-6700k, OC to 4.6GHz Asus GTX 1070 FE Asus Z170 ProGaming Corsair LPX 16GB RAM I am running Windows 10 Pro. Here is the (LINK).
  2. Ohh I see, but won't temps trigger thermal throttling though? That's what I am worried about. Cause usually the temps on my card reaches around ~75°C
  3. Hey guys. So I joined the PC master race and built my very first PC last month. My GPU was the Asus 1070 FE. Now i've seen the aftermarket cards and i wish i'd waited for them before buying (stupid decision i know). Lol. Anyway. I am considering on replacing mine with the MSI Gaming X card. My question is if I am going to sell my 1070 FE card how much would it cost now vs the price when i first bought it? It costed me SAR 2590 (USD 690.60) and i bought it last month on June 28. **Also is the performance difference that big or is it negligible?** Thanks for your feedback guys.
  4. Thank you so much for the quick replies. I will try it out later when I get home.
  5. Oh i see. Do I need to format my other drives as well or just the boot drive?
  6. Yes it says raid on it. I remember changing it to AHCI (I think?) but then it didn't boot, it says no boot drive or something like that.
  7. Hey guys. Everytime I boot my PC up this menu appears. It stays like that for about 3 - 5 seconds before continuing on with the boot up. So basically it defeats the purpose of my SSD for fast boot times lol. This menu started appearing after I installed my 250 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD. At first my OS was in the Fujitsu drive then I formatted it and installed the OS on the SSD. Any idea how I can get rid of this screen? I don't want to fiddle around the bios settings cause i'm not yet very familiar with the options there. Thanks guys.
  8. BTW, what software do you guys recommend for tweaking fans?
  9. Thanks for the info guys. Now I wish I had waited and gotten a Strix or MSI card. Lol
  10. Hey guys. I have a question about idling and under-load GPU temps. My 1070 FE hovers around 37°C when idling and when under load (e.g. playing games) it reaches temps of around 80°C. When playing Rise of the Tomb Raider or Witcher 3, I get an average of 75°C. Is this normal for reference cards or should i tweak the fans to run faster? I haven't done any overclocking on the card. Thanks.
  11. Sorry i forgot to mention I am looking at the 1TB WD Black HDD for my storage, the 250GB SSD will be for my OS and most played games. What are the specs I need to check if I am looking at PSU's? Thanks.
  12. Hey guys! I am hoping to build a PC for gaming (games like Battlefield 1, GTA V, Witcher III, Need for Speed, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and the like) and light to moderate video editing (using Adobe After Effects) and maybe some 3D modelling in the future. I already have a 24" 1080p HP monitor with a 60hz refresh rate. I don't plan on upgrading my monitor anytime soon, so most likely I will be gaming at 1080p only. I live in Saudi Arabia and the parts I picked translates to around USD1700. Here is the parts list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/nkMxr7 (I already purchased the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming MoBo) My question is, will the i5 be enough for the titles I mentioned or should I get an i7? The price difference here is SAR375 (about USD100) so will the price be worth it? Also, I am not really familiar with CPU coolers so if you have any recommendations it will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to share any alternative parts or suggestions if you have. Thanks! -LJ
  13. Thanks for the input guys! That video was very informative. And Gale, you're pretty.
  14. Hey guys. I just recently got an Asus N550JX laptop and i was wondering if it is ok that i am regularly plugging and unplugging it to a power source. I have read that it is good for the battery to be around 40% - 80%. So everytime it drops to 40% or reaches around 80% i plug/unplug it. Is that ok, or should i keep it plugged in when i am not travelling/or just at home? Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the quick reply guys. Reason is I don't have a credit card yet. What other shops can you suggest besides Jarir?
