Yea great idea! Or set all the fans to a constant speed and measure thermals and dcb. I think this would be a great video to put the "which cooler is best" argument to rest.

That was my concern. I've seen plenty of builds with parallel GPUs but none with a CPU integrated. Now I know why  

He'll need a 144hz monitor for competitive TF2 gaming. Nice build though!

Correct me if I'm mistaken but you linked an X99 motherboard and an LGA 1151 CPU. They won't fit together. If you're a big video editor I'd definitely consider a 5820k OC'd.

The top reads GTX 470 in Aurebesh, the written characters of basic (English). Its got its imperfections but I'm pretty happy with the outcome. If anyone has an recomendations for an easier way to spray paint letters let me know, cause it took me about an hour to carve those letters out of masking tape . EDIT: Sorry for the potato photo quality

If you are willing to spend the extra money, a 1080 will deliver a significantly better experience form what I've heard so far, but the 980 Ti will still be a great card for many years (more than enough) so I would say both are equally good options, just depends on how much you want to spend.

Personally I'd wait until the card is actually sent out for independent reviews before making that call. If the hype holds true then definitely the GTX 1080 though.

Ok @fearxzombie then I'd recommend my build or something similar. An SSD could be an upgrade option in the future as could more RAM to help run your modded mine craft (I have no experience in that department[emoji16]). Other then that, if you don't plan on upgrading much then you could swap out the mobo for a cheaper h81 chipset and spend more on RAM or an i5.

***Before I say anything I just wanted to let you know that I have never even dreamed of the budget you have (I think we are similar ages-high school?). Therefore I have 0 experience building a PC at this price point.
I did build a build in the 400USD area and I found when buying parts that aren't as important to the performance of your PC like mobo, ram (type not amount) and CPU cooler you should cheap out as much as possible while still keeping reliability and features you want. So my recommendation would be to go with a cheaper mobo because the VIII Hero is a great board but 350$ could be shaved to 150$ and then you'd have 200$ to spend on a better GPU (980ti[emoji6]). I would change the RAM, hyperX is quality and fairly good value. As for the CPU cooler I think you have potential to save a bit by buying a 212 Evo and upgrading the fans but both the Evo and the D15 will offer great overclocking headroom and cool temps.
