So I took the usb 2, usb 3 and the usb 3 hdd and did some transfers on my friends laptop. The usb 2 and 3 did the exact same and the usb 3 hdd dropped about 4 or 5 MB/s. So is the usb 2 just older and getting worse, the usb 3 is just not that great and the usb 3 hdd is the best usb 3 device I got. Does that sound about right?

So I dont know what caused the computer to completely shut down when I unplugged the usb keyboard but I finally just unplugged every from my motherboard that was hooked up with a sata cable and was able to get it to boot back up like normal. I was able to plug everything back up one at a time with no problems.

I bought the enthusiast grade chip 1. Because I had the money for it 2. For the extra PCle lanes so that I can have room to upgrade in the future extra gpu, PCle ssd etc.

So I was putting some movies ( most are mp4 and about 1GB to 2GB in size) on a usb 3 ssd ( PNY 64GB, FAT32) for a friend of mine. I noticed that the transfer speed maxed out at only 33MB/s. I know that I have done file transfers before and have hit 100MB/s. To my knowledge I have not made any changes to my computer that would effect transfer speeds. I also tried some usb 2 thumb drive on plugged into usb 3 ports and usb 2 ports with speeds maxing out at 10 MB/s. And for the sake of science I hooked up a usb 3 WD My Passport Hdd ( NTFS format) and was hitting 100MB/s speed no problem. Am I just missing something here? The usb 2 drives are older but both of the PNY and the WD are less than 2 years old with very very minimal use. All transfers where done from my 2 TB HDD with nothing running else running. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also please forgive any tech forum fopa I am kind of new to this.

I do not have any over clocks set in place.

I build my first PC this past year around July. The keyboard has a BIOS switch that lets it work in when getting to the boot menu. After fixing my friends computer I plugged my keyboard back up to my computer with the BIOS switch on. I noticed that my scroll lock light was flashing, after goggling what it meant I found out it meant the BIOS switch was still on. I flipped the switch when the computer was still on and the keyboard lost its back light and stopped typing. I restarted my computer and even though the keyboard was light up it would not type anything. Using the virtual keyboard I logged into my computer and turning on the Corsair engine to find my keyboard was not being detected. Saw their was a update for the Corsair engine so I updated it and restarted my computer. On the restart my keyboard worked fine with all its pretty rainbow colors. The following day after booting up my computer the back light did not engage like normal but could still type. Checking the Corsair engine my keyboard was not even being detected. Later on that day I decided to just unplug the keyboard and plug it back in, when I did this the computer completely shut down. Turning the computer back on it would not boot and the debug led was giving the code A2 per the manual that means IDE Detect. Because the boot drive is a m.2 I had to make some changes in my BIOS settings, these settings were not longer in place. I go through the process of telling the motherboard to us the pci lanes for the m.2 but the drive does not come up on the boot order menu. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I just build my first pc and I have been running some benchmark tests to see how everything is running. I have been a little let down by my firestorm and heaven score. I have done some checking with Cpu-z and it is saying that my Gpu only has 4gb of memory which should not be correct. If I go to screen resolution, click advanced settings, it shows my gpu has 8gb of vram. If it is capped at something less than 8gb how do i raise it?
