the MSI GS-63 (non pro version) is pretty wonderful. Around $1200 for an i7 7700HQ and GTX 1050, and 16 GB of RAM. Impressive IO selection, pretty thin and keeps itself cool

    Good idea with the mis-reporting.
I thought to check Event Viewer, and I found the problem. For some reason, (as near as I can figure) after i'd hibernated it, it turned itself on and then upon reaching the 7% critical battery limit, hibernated itself again. I wonder if for some reason it never fully hibernated in the first place.

Odd... I thought the definition of hibernation was that it is switched off with your session stored on disk instead of ram

BGA reacted to r4tch3t in I see a red line in the middle of the display
Could be software but my experience with similar things is its the monitor is the culprit. Assuming it's in the same position every time its probably a dodgy  transistor that turns the red on for that particular line. Once warmed up it may start working again.
Do you have access to another pc to test it?

What the title says. I was trying to end unnecessary tasks in task manager so l could free up as much ram as possible and I though windows explorer was unnecessary but it clearly isn't.

    A couple:
Power supply wasn't turning on, and turned out to be a blown fuse. Since I didn't have an extra fuse, I was a genius and just used an alligator clip to bypass the fuse to test it. Plugged it in and made a literal fireball in the middle of my room, as well as ruining the alligator clip.   Numerous embarrassing things trying to figure out why it won't post, solutions ranging from unplugged atx power, ram not installed, power supply not on, etc   Replacing faulty cables with faulty cables, incorrectly concluding that the cable was not the problem since 2 cables in a row couldn't have possibly had the same issue   Dvd drive wouldn't boot to linux disk. Figured the drive must have been broken and spent forever trying to fix it and substitute drives. Turns out the stupid laptop's bios just doesn't recognize linux disks...   My friend did a funny one: He had a webcam that has a built in microphone. The webcam therefore has a usb cable for the camera and a 3.5mm cable for the mic. He didn't see the usb cable and plugged the 3.5mm cable into the headphone jack. This caused the computer to try to play through the webcam's microphone (which doesn't work) but did succeed in making him think that the webcam, microphone, and speakers, were all broken.   Thinking all my peripherals spontaneously died, when in fact, it was the USB port's problem I'm sure there's others, but that's all I can think of right now

30 watts RMS and that Lepai amp delivers less than that realistically. More is needed for peak output.

I would go for the SMSL SA36 at minimum (true 20W amp), or the SA50 to be safe.

I don't know enough about them. Looks like reliability might be a concern with the second one. I would just get the Lepai vs the first one, since it's going to have the same limitations and the Lepai is better known.

So as you probably are aware, site is going up and down whole morning (here). Noticed this since 5am UTC. It's giving me Error 524, Firefox addon keeps going up and down, I can partially load the site but its really slow. Etc. etc.
