cortexcortex reacted to Korben in the weirdest case problem
Why are you discussing this here? He already made his decision and ask for help in totally different space? This is really bad manners... it's annoying when everybody jump's on the Red vs Blue discussion. Way out of line.

cortexcortex reacted to 79wjd in Why are steam prices overpriced?
Steam is an official retail store whereas G2a is a bunch of resellers. It's like using ebay/craigslist as a baseline compared to Amazon. (A lot of G2A sellers buy keys when they're on sale/in bulk and/or from countries where prices are lower)

cortexcortex reacted to Pendragon in New laptop
Definitely wait for the new macbook then. nothing really beats them in mobile editing (FCP) at this form factor or price point.
if you were using premier or anything else in the first place, the XPS15 is definitely a good choice. You wouldn't need the precision lineup version of it. It's geared towards a much different audience.
That is actually why your computer lags. SSD's do not perform well when they are close to max capacity. Try offloading a bunch of files to a external backup drive and see if performance improves.

I'd personally go with the XPS unless you're really tied to the Mac OS (which I know a lot of people are).
The dell inspiron 15 7559 is also a nice alternative for around 1/3 the price.

cortexcortex reacted to Captain_WD in New build for new house
Hi there
The plan seems great for a true power horse.
One thing I could suggest is to consider a better storage configuration. WD Blue is a great drive for this purpose but for such a workstation I would think you would be doing important projects and you would want some redundancy for them. I would consider either a RAID1 array with two WD Red drives or an external backup solution (if you don't have one already).

cortexcortex reacted to Naeaes in Can my PC handle a gtx 1070 or 1080?
Everyone's saying yes without hearing a word about the power supply? The GTX750 is a very low power card and both the GTX1070 and GTX1080, while relatively efficient cards, draw upward to five times as much power. OP, don't listen to anyone who comments without knowing more about your PSU. Not to mention that the case matters too. These cards are going to be way longer and heavier, highly likely need room for cooling and so on.

cortexcortex reacted to Marcseli in Upgrading GPU(s)
def get 1080. wouldn't recommend sli because for 1 it is not needed because it is already overkill, 2 most games wont benefit from it, and 3 it is not stable. Titan is way to expensive and if you really need that much power then wait for the ti edition

cortexcortex reacted to awesomeness10120 in Upgrading GPU(s)
I'd recommend waiting for Vega and GP100, (that is if GP100 gets released to consumers in the first place) or wait for custom PCB GTX 1080s.

cortexcortex reacted to SpaceTurtle917 in Can I give away my CS GO game to my friend?
You can't give away a game that is already in your steam library. But if you plan on buying it again anyways you can just buy a key or buy it as a gift and give it to him.

cortexcortex reacted to Deil Grist in Which ship should I get?
I'd say just get yourself the basic Aurora package and wait for another "all ships flyable" weekend closer to the game launch to upgrade. Ship balance and flight mechanics are bound to change between now and launch, so I wouldn't go spending a bunch of money on a ship you might not like in 3 months (although you can earn everything in-game too, so I guess it's all a moot point with enough patience).

cortexcortex reacted to Stuntz in Gaming screenshots
SC alpha 2.3 hit last night, seems they're actually keeping on track with patches lately!
It came with a flyable Xi'An Scout!
Some ArcCorp lighting improvements:
And a big ol' Starfarer in my XL hangar spot! The damned thing is massive. It's hard to judge scale by screenshots alone, but you know its big when its for 4 internal levels and some jefferies tubes (if star trek is your thing!). Easy to get lost in there.
Warning: Lots of screenshots
Now imagine all the elevators, staircases, ladders and corridors that connect all that, on top of what I didn't show (kitchen area, bathrooms, other escape pods, other engines etc). It's easy to get lose in there. And to think the smallest capital ship is nearly 2.5x in length.

I'd look into the reviews and gameplay of both games and then decide for yourself. As @EvilNeo stated, they are both very different games.

cortexcortex got a reaction from Dr_Pleeper in Trade my iPhone 6s for a galaxy s7 edge?
It's your decision. They're very different. If I had to choose one, I'd choose the S7 Edge.

cortexcortex reacted to Darkseth in Upgrade my Galaxy S6 Edge?
Why do you want to Upgrade? Is there something you are missing (like SD Slot)?
Is there something on your S6 Edge, that makes you unhappy, or not satisfied?
Usually it is never a good idea, to upgrade to the next generation, because the differences are too small.
However, lets say, your S6 Edge doesnt have a good battery life, and you Never maange to go past 1 single Day. This "can" be a reason to upgrade (if it annoys the hell out of you), because the S7 / S7 edge WILL last a big bunch longer. Even more, if you get the Exynos version.
Stuff like that.
But for more performance... Nah. The S7 Edge is like a S6 edge with almost everything better. But it shouldnt justify you spending 750 bucks for it ^^"
If you need to have the newest device, get teh S7 / Edge. Or at least wait for it to drop 100-200 bucks down, and then switch + sell the S6 Edge.
But i would say, wait at least for end 2016 for the nexus devices, or wait another Year. Then the differences will be much bigger than now.
Advice : Go into a Store, take the S7 Edge, and play around with it. Does it feel like a big upgrade for you?

Might wanna add an option for SLI x2,3,4 and cross/tri/quad fire
Also minor, nothing for Devils Canyon, I know its Haswell refresh but still
-
cortexcortex reacted to Centurius in Which is the resolution you game in?
Additionally if you wanted good statistics on GPU you shouldn't have the absolute majority of GPU's(integrated and one or two generation older dGPU's) under the 'other' label.

cortexcortex reacted to stealth80 in Which is the resolution you game in?
Can you not just add multiple choices to the GPU section so pick your gpu and then if it is SLi/Crossfire? so 2 ticks so to speak
Would cover all the GPU options using less
