you still running the 6700k?  I wouldn't bother until you've upped that.  The best way to check is lower all your settings and resolution to the lowest.  release the load on the GPU then run your game.  Your framerate at this point will be as high as it ever will be. regardless of what GPU you're running

    Sorry no, i'm on a 5800x now

  2. Evening all,

I've been out the hardware loop for a little while. Looking at upgrading from a 2070 super to a 4070ti. Is this a sensible move, is there better value to be had from the AMD side or a difference Nvidia GPU?

Lastly any brand recommendations, I've always gone with gigabyte and had no issues, but again opinions welcome

    Thanks in advanced

So I'm essentially screwed? I guess I can return my AVR and get another one, but this model Denon is the best for its price range.

Something else came to mind while writing this comment, can I hook up my PC to the AVR and then to the tv for the same surround experience? Or won't I get any Dolby encoding that way.

I'd have to get s much longer optical hdmi 2.1 cable, but that's cheaper than getting a new tv or AVR.

A different AVR won't make a difference. I have an Onkyo and that wouldn't work either. I also tried using an arc to phono adapter and that wouldn't work with the TV either. Both worked fine with my Samsung which leads me to believe the fault lies with LG.

My audio knowledge isn't great, if you went the route you're talking about wouldn't you lose the ability to control volume through the tv remote?

That is a good option, but kinda expensive in the place I live in. A 2 TB SSD Cost around $350-400 when converted from local currency.

And I have been fixated on this config as my Predator 15 (2016) had this SSD + HDD config.

In that case your best bet is going to be an external drive enclosure and just do backups. As far as I'm aware no gaming laptop still has 2.5 inch bays, as an m.2 does the exact same at a fraction of the size. Meaning more space for cooling and battery.

Thats worrying to hear. They are both very modern devices, you'd expect it to work.

I still got about a year of warrenty left on the TV so I might be able to get a technician to take a loot at it if it comes to that.

Worth a shot, but I'd imagine its a software issue. And given modern tv's update themselves if that's the case then there's nothing a technician will be able to do.

  6. I purchased an LG tv last year and had the exact same issue. Nothing I did would get eARC to work. I ended up sending the tv back and replaced it with a Samsung one which worked fine. I know its not the answer you want but I think LG's implementation of eARC is just terrible and seems to work with very few setups.

Thats true. But it is not a problem, that can't be fixed.

    1. Put two ninjastars in the center. One is fixed and the other one can be rotated. This way you could use one side for short bits and the other one for long ones.

    2. Make one bit holder side rotatable. When aligning the top and bottom holder, the bits will stop each other from falling out. And when you rotate them by 30° you can put long bits in.

Maybe it was considered at some point in developement. And it's really cool that they showed some parts of the developement process of the screwdriver. But i think the 30min video is not enough to show everything. I really would love to see a whole documentation of 1-2 hours about it.

I'm sure given how much development went into the screwdriver this was considered at some point. But I complete agree, am even longer, more in-depth video would be fascinating. Hopefully the views and watch time are enough on the 30min vid that they'd consider making it.

  8. It'll reset the BIOS. But assuming you didn't touch the BIOS settings since the surge I doubt it'll fix it as well. It certainly sounds like the surge cooked your ethernet port. Assuming everything else on the motherboard is ok I'd suggest just buying a pcie network card with an ethernet port. Shouldn't cost you much at all

    My 460hp M240i

Truthy I wish I'd gone with a m240i. I never drove one and just assumed its identical to my 140i but coupe style. Drove one a few months into owning my 140 and was surprised and how much better it felt in the corners. Before I did anything to my car it felt very loose in the corners. Also the massive b pillars of a 5 door hatchback are annoying.

Aside from the remap have you done anything else? Exterior looks stock, but curious if you're able to put down 460hp without some suspension/ diff mods.
