  1. I sent my laptop for dell to fix it two weeks ago, last wednesday they delivered it, but it was still faulty, it was not possible for me to arrange another service order for it to get it properly fixed because I had to take a plane on friday because I will be the next 4 months here in buenos aires, however, after contacting dell support here in argentina to get this issue solved they said they are not able to assists me, that I ahve to do it exclusively in the US because that is where my warranty is valid. I get it, that's their policy and I'm okay with it, but since I arranged my flight to be a few days after the computer was delivered (I couldn't pospone it more, otherwise I would have had to have the laptop sent to me via UPS) and they were the ones that overlook the one issue that presented a real constraint for me to use the laptop (It's an over heating issue, the fans would not spin until the cpu temp reached 90C, so using the laptop like that would shorten it's usable life significantly, not to mention the constant bluescreens and shutdowns), they should be kind enough to help me have it fixed here, or am I the only one that thinks that?
  2. I'm sorry i don't know what you are talking about, could you explain it a bit further?
  3. Hello! I have a dell inspiron 5378 that worked fine for about 8 months after that the screen was having this weird tint on the edges, the battery was dying reaching the end of it´s usable life (as the Dell eSPA built in diagnostics claimed) and eventually the fan had stopped working properly and it would only turn on when the cpu reach 90C, this wast around may, I stopped using the computer send the laptop to dell (It took me a while since I was not on the US and the warranty was US only)... Fast forward to now I just recieved back the laptop from Dell, they claim to have changed the fan but it still only turns on when the CPU temp reach 90C... the weird thing is that the built in diagnostic tool will say report that the fan is working properly and it would "pass the test" that dell puts its hardware through when running the diagnostics tool. Another thing is that when I'm running the CAM monitoring tool it doesn't detect the fan even when the CPU reach 90C and it kicks in... I have all my drivers up to date according to dell supports website. I don't know that to do at this point, it's going to be a real pain in the ass to send the computer back to dell and in the meantime a solution or a workaround would be just fine for me. I would really appreciate any kind of help, please fell free to ask me to explain anything I may not have amde clear.
  4. Hello! My laptop is overheating, not because of the fan not spinning at the right speed(according to the aida64 and dell diagnosis tool), not because of a dusty filter, not because of thermal paste, I already checked all of those. I bought a Dell Inspiron in September last year, I've been using it for web browsing, watching movies, some light gaming (CS GO, a little over 6 hours of fortnite and some casual titles) and Adobe design tools like Photoshop and Lightroom. About a month ago I noticed that my laptop started to shut down after overheating, after noticing this I checked all the things that I mentioned above and it kept going, fortunately my warranty was still active so I contacted Dell support and in the next days they'll be able to check it (because of some paperwork I had to do because of the warranty). However, Dell asked me to run a diagnosis software and it showed that the battery was reaching the end of its usable life and that the fan wasn't responding correctly, which I assume was because of the battery. Today, I decided to take off the battery and noticed that the fan doesn't start spinning until the CPU reached 90°C... is this a software issue? I already updated all my drivers, chipset, graphics and bios. I'm already changing the battery of this laptop through dell support and I assume they'll change the fan too but not knowing the cause of the issue doesn't let me sleep at night... Does anybody have a workaround for the fan not kicking in? Later I'll edit this post with some aida64 benchmark screenshot
  5. Haha, nice thread. My first build consisted of: APU: A10 7850k MOBO: GAfmh2-h (or something like that, can't remember honestly) RAM: 8GB 2133 Mhz hyperx Savage. PSU: Cheap-o brand bundled with the case. SSD: Samsung 850 evo. HDD: Good old 1TB WD blue. I wasn't planning on buying a graphics card anytime soon so that's why I went with the APU, can't complain too much because I was able to play Doom at 720p 40fps thanks to Vulkan.
  6. If it is to good to be true then maybe it is... I wouldn't buy anything like that unless I know where does it comes from, let's say a friend of mine wants to sell it real quick and I know and trust him and how he treats his electronics. I wouldn't trust a website that doesn't have good reputation because you may end up spending more so I would recommend doing a good research about that website, reviews on Google and YouTube i.e.. Hope this helps!
  7. I'm currently looking for a new phone and I'm not really sure whether I should go for the p20 lite or the mate se, both have pretty similar specs but a 50usd price tag difference. The 2 main differences I can spot are the notch on the p20 and the extra ram in the in the Mate SE (4GB vs 3GB on the P20). Now I'm more concerned about performance than looks so the 4GB of ram are more appealing to me but when it comes to things like: built quality and processing power I don't know if the extra 50usd are really worth it over the Mate SE or if I should consider any other option around that price tag... like a Moto G6 for example.
  8. Besides the build log is there a documentation or something more detailed about the project? I'm sure there are so many things that are going in the background that I don't know about but definetly want to learn.
  9. Sadly nothing changed, I'm thinking about closing the topic because it looks like I should contact my ISP and thats not possible since they shut down the costumer support department, I know it sounds crazy but it's true and actually very very sad.
  10. Here, before taking the screenshots I also saw and unninstalled all these tap adapters (It's not the first time I uninstall them, I'm talking about the ones with the red 'x') and ran it again, from what I have gathered on the internet these were left of of failed attemps creating a VPN a while back... but the problem started months after that so I don't see a direct connection between these two events although I thought it would be worth mentioning.
  11. In most motherboards there is a jumper that you have to switch to the clear position (the other way), you can find the location of the jumper on the motherboard's manual, or just take off the battery for 30 seconds.
  12. Try using another PSU, or test yours with a multimeter.
  13. Sure! here it is. I read a little about the "tracert" command after running it, does this means that this is a problem with my ISP?
